This is the "bad ending" to this story. What could have happened if things went differently. A "dark ending" if you will.
! This chapter contains implied gore violence and a clean but bloody beheading. I strongly advise you go read the happy ending or even the neutral ending (Both separate chapters after this one). Especially if you don't like this kind of stuff/triggers you. Horror isn't my forte and I hate consuming horror media. I wanted to try writing horror though. I don't like this ending but here you go if you want something darker I guess? You have been warned. Please tell me if I missed any important tags relating to this. !
Or maybe I'm a baby cuz I get easily freaked out. IDK.
- = all contained in this symbol is repeated in the other 2 endings.

Silence. The short yet sharp sound echoed through the decay lining the walls; spreading along the carpets and stone floors littered with rubble.
Reaching their ears.
"They're here."
Dio grabbed Jojo's wrist with such force it nearly ripped it off. The stitching reaching its limits as Dio pulled Jojo behind him down the corridors up to his room. A quickening pace. Quickening, as a group of footsteps echoed behind them. Figures standing tall.
"Dio- what are you-" But Jojo was pushed into Dio's room. A glance as he looked down at Jojo.
"I don't want them to destroy my only chance."
Another click. The door was locked.
And Jojo looked up from his sorry state on the floor. Tears forming effortlessly as he sat in confusion and panic. 'What were we running from?'
Heavy footsteps. Determined. A grin forming violently across Dio's face as he put on his jacket. The world hovering beside him, readying himself for the chaos he was so eager to make. Another step. Another. closer and closer as he could feel star platinum. Could feel the weak power surging around Jotaro.
Oh, how he had waited for this day, ever since he had conceptualized the very idea of bringing Jojo back, it would now be finally complete. No more scattered limbs. No more pathetic games. no more stitches and vulgar skin colours attached to his "beloved".
That night was to be the night of a clean beheading.
"They are here." A hush to Ice who scurried off to inform the others. It was time to give Jonathan a truly worthy body. the body he so desperately "deserved".
A quick glimpse back. His friends where gone.
A sigh and a shrug "Yare yare daze" as he made his way through the largest corridor. Almost as if he knew they were going to split up. Almost as if he walked here before. A simple shake of the head. Only Deja vu?
But halls grew darker. The floor's cracks and scars attempting to trip Jotaro over and over. The musty smells of mould and wet sand seeping through the cracks.
The red monstrous eyes at the end of the journey. The devious grin of grief gone mad facing him down at the end of the hall. In pitch darkness. A single light above Jotaro's head.
"Dio."
"Jotaro, was it?" That smile remained.
"I suppose we should get this over with?"
"Yes"
"Star Platinum!"
He appeared to block the world from behind. Jotaro turned to face the danger. A mistake he had repeated.
"Oh Jotaro, so predictable."
A slither down Jotaro's spine. He turned to face Dio. The world was a mere distraction. A distraction from the sharpened, long and protruding knife from Dio's fingers. It was larger than the other throwing knives. And with a simple swing...
Time stopped.
Polnareff, Abdul, Iggy, Joseph, Kakyoin. All having to stop in their tracks. Ice ready for the next attack. But he was too taken aback by the sheer horror on Polnareff's face to take his chance to kill.
Time felt like it had stopped but neither Jotaro nor Dio had stopped it. The pounding heartbeat in their chests as panic set in.
DIO had won.
Polnereff knew this. Iggy knew this. Joseph knew this. Abdul knew this. Kakyoin, unable to stop himself, ran from his adversary to that feeling. The feeling tugging his sleeves at where Jotaro was. He had to be there. He had to know. Such a feeling of horror couldn't yet consume him when there was-
hope.
But what Kakyoin could feel just beyond the dark corridor solidified his fear. Yes. Even if it was so they had to carry on. Maybe they had a chance at-
But the eyes of death stared from beyond the darkness at Kakyoin. The grin of a monster slowly dissolving into the depths with a loud sound of cloth dragging on the floor, ringing in his ear.
Polnareff and the others quickly followed and had met Kakyoin there. Even Ice and Nukesaku stood with them. Even though they could not see the horror before them, it was all too real. So quick. So merciless. So much so even Ice questioned his loyalty.
A clean beheading. Without a care. What horrors this monster could achieve for "love". But what "love" is this?
If it meant destroying what was held dear to "fix" his "beloved".
Their shoulders steadied, breathing slowly calming. He had gone.
Not a sound. Not a word from anyone as they walked away form that corridor.
Leaving what had happened there.
The blood from the neck had no fear and spread everywhere. Seeping into cracks and carpets.
Between them, the world and Dio had dragged a headless body up to his room.
"Jonathan." Dio knocked on the door.
"I have a surprise for you."
The only thing remaining was his hat. Kakyoin refused to let it go. Abdul comforted him. And Polnareff. Polnareff's eyes glared at it. Anger. Only anger. As he marched up to Dio's room.
No one tried to stop him.
"You can't do this alone." Polnareff stopped. Joseph stood next to him. Iggy on his shoulder.
"Dio!" A cry from upstairs. A wail. An angry wail of disgust and grief.
The remaining crusaders turned to the noise.
"Ready?"
"Ready."
Polnareff, Iggy and Joseph charged up the stairs, stands at the ready. Abdul staying with Kakyoin. His hands to firmly grasping the hat to let go.
The door was locked but still took the bangs and beatings. On the other side, a stale mate. Jojo and Dio's hands locked in battle.
"Don't you want this?! Such a beautiful body for someone like you. You deserve the best after all."
"How could you be this cruel?! I thought you were better! I thought you had a soul! For a moment, I thought-. I was a fool to think you'd change. But you only changed for me! I wish I had never chosen to come back!" Jojo let out a burst of Hamon through his rage-filled tears, knocking Dio back.
"You are still just as evil as you were back then, maybe even more so! Why did I forgive you?!" Jojo swung a Hamon filled fist straight at Dio's face.
Dio dodged but wouldn't let that manic look go that lived in his eyes.
"This isn't about forgiveness, Jojo! This is about making sure I get what I want, whether anyone likes it or not!" Another swing from Jojo, Dio dodged it again.
"Maybe if you won't accept his body, then you can have this body! Take back what was yours!"
But Jojo stopped listening. Refusing to let tears and memories get the better of him.
A sudden grab. Jojo had Dio by his collar. The door was almost broken enough for the crusaders to get through.
"Do it. Do it Jojo. And you can take this body. I'll have his." But Jojo carried him in silence to the balcony. With ease.
"You think a simple drop can stop me?! It didn't work before!"
The crusaders burst into the room.
"Gramps?!"
"We have to end this Dio! Enough is enough!" Jojo stepped onto the balcony's edge. "I was never meant to exist in this time! I was never meant to have come back. To see and experience it." tears leaking from his eyes uncontrollably. A small, regret-filled glance at Jotaro's headless body. Lifeless.
Jojo turned to the crusaders. "I'm truly sorry. If I had been stronger, I could've prevented all of this."
"You're going to kill us both?!"
"Like I should've done all those years ago."
Silence.
The crusaders watched. Joseph reaching his hand across Polanreff's chest. A firm glance.
"I'll try to give you a better ending. Next time." Jojo whispered.
Jojo lost his footing. He didn't panic. He held Dio's hand. The world fading.
The tower's spike below them. It pierced their weary bodies. And as the sun rose, their bodies became ash. Tumbling down to the depths below.
The crusaders stood in silence.
Another tick of the clock towering over Jotaro's body.
Another replay is in order.
