Thanks to Wendy, Team Ben accepted the job. They will have to go to Shirotsume with the 'package', which is Joseph's son, Arthur. Luckily, they have a magic car that can make the job easier and faster. It would be harder and take longer if they used carriages or walked there.
"While you move with the 'package', I will also move there with our carriage. We will have one of our men disguise himself as Arthur in order to fool the enemy." Joseph explained.
"You want us to move together?" Ben asked.
"No, what I mean is we will move at the same time, but separately. With that, the enemy will target our group instead of yours, hopefully." Joseph went into further detail.
"Couldn't you take care of the mages if they attack you?" He questioned Joseph.
"Yes, I have some mages that work for me, and you might be wondering why I don't have them send the 'package'. Well, we only have 3 mages working for us and it won't be enough for this plan. Besides, we want to avoid suspicion by not having our mages send the package." He responded to Ben's question.
Ben knew there was more to what Joseph was saying, but he wasn't going to pry.
"Well whatever, it's your plan. We just need to follow it." He muttered.
"Thank you for your understanding." Joseph told them.
He and his men then prepared everything. They placed Arthur in a special box, then placed it in the trunk of the Garuda Phoenix. They also added some small boxes as a disguise to fool the spies that might be lurking around the area. Now this looks like a legitimate package delivery job.
"Please be careful along the way. I'm leaving the package to you." Joseph pleaded.
"Yeah, you just need to pray nothing bad will happen. Although the possibility is small." Ben pointed out.
"I understand." Joseph nodded.
Team Ben then got into the car with Wendy and the cats in the front passenger seat together. After everything was prepared, Ben hit the gas pedal and they set off for Shirotsume Town. He drove slowly while they were in the town. Then when they leave the town and get onto the highway, Ben drove faster.
"OUCH OUCH! Please drive slower!" Arthur demanded from inside the box.
"Just get out of that box! There's no use staying in there from now on. This car is a lot safer than that box." Ben remarked.
Arthur emerged from the box and then entered the passenger's side from a small door that connected the trunk with the inside. Ben told him to wear his seat belt and enjoy the ride. After that, he pushed down on the pedal harder and drove the car faster.
"WAAAHHH! SLOW DOWN! SLOW DOWN!" Arthur exclaimed, frightened.
"What are you afraid of? Even Wendy isn't scared of this and the cats are enjoying this." He retorted.
"B-BUT I'VE NEVER RIDDEN IN SOMETHING THIS FAST! I-IT'S DANGEROUS!" Arthur screamed.
"Then you need to get used to it. We need to move quickly so the enemy won't be able to pursue us." Ben reminded him.
"B-but I-I feel nauseous." Arthur's face started to turn green.
"SHIT! DON'T YOU DARE PUKE IN MY CAR!" He shouted.
He immediately hit the brake and stopped the car. Arthur opened the door and puked outside, so the car is safe.
"Phew, safe." Ben sighed in relief.
"Are you okay?" Wendy asked.
"Y-yes, I feel better now." Arthur told them.
"Tsk, you should've told me you had motion sickness." Ben scoffed.
"I don't have it. Your driving is just too wild." He shot back.
"Wendy, cast something to help him." He sighed.
"Okay." She nodded.
Wendy approached Arthur and then cast a spell to help him.
"Troia!" She cast a spell that would help with Arthur's motion sickness. Now he will no longer puke, so Ben can resume driving quickly.
"Please go slow! Even if I no longer puke, I'll feel traumatized." He begged.
"Ben nii-san, let's go slower." Wendy insisted.
"Fine." He sighed.
Ben drove the car at a normal speed and Arthur was relieved.
"You know, if you want to drive that fast, you should enter the racing tournament." He told him.
"Racing tournament? Is there such a thing?" Ben asked.
"You don't know, huh? Well there are some tournaments that are held every year. The biggest one is a Grand Magic Prix held by the kingdom once a year. Sometimes it's a event in the Grand Magic Games too." Arthur informed them.
"Grand Magic Games?" Wendy asked.
"Is that an arcade?" Ben also asked.
"Huh? You two don't know about the Grand Magic Games." Arthur gasped.
"Do we need to know about it?" The pair questioned.
Arthur was disappointed to hear that there were two wizards who didn't know about the Grand Magic Games. He sighed and then explained it. Well, basically it was a tournament to decide who the strongest guild in Fiore is.
"Ooh, strongest guild huh? I'm intrigued." Ben was interested in the competition.
"Well, any guild will be interested in that title, so they'll participate in it. Usually, the guild sends a team of 5 mages to compete in the games." Arthur explained.
"5? That's a shame. Seems we won't be able to join it." Ben sadly sighed.
"Eh? Why? You don't have enough members?" Arthur asked incredulously.
"The old man won't let us participate. If we just need 1 member, I will sneak in to compete, but if it involves a team, we're outta luck." Ben responded.
"Well, it's a tournament to decide the strongest guild, not the strongest mage, so you'll need to work together with your guild mates." Arthur added.
"Forget about the Games, tell me about the Grand Prix." Ben demanded.
"Hmm, it's different from the Grand Magic Games as it doesn't involve a guild. On occasion there are some independent teams or mages that participate in the tournament. There's also a good reward, as it's a big competition." Arthur commented.
"That sounds a lot better. I can participate without that fossil's approval. Good, good, he he he." A sly expression formed on his face.
"You want to participate in it?" Wendy asked Ben.
"Of course. I'll show the world just how fast my car can go, he he. Do you think anyone has a car as fast as mine?" He asked her.
"No way." The girls exclaimed.
"Right? HA HA HA HA." Ben started to laugh.
They continued driving while discussing the racing tournament. Ben was really excited about it, because he always wanted to compete in a official race, but was never able to do so. Racing is expensive after all and he couldn't afford it in the past.
While talking, they passed by an alley with tall cliffs on both sides. The road passed through the alley, and it was wide. Ben had a bad feeling about this and braced himself.
His feeling turned out to be correct as some people in black attire appeared on top of the cliff. Ben didn't wait like a stupid protagonist and drove faster. The passengers were surprised and screamed.
"KYAA!" The girls screamed.
"W-WHA-WHAT HAPPENED? WHY ARE YOU SPEEDING UP?" Arthur demanded.
"Possible threats on both sides. We're being sandwiched in. We need to get out of the alley fast before we're cornered by their attacks." Ben responded.
He suddenly saw a flash in his mirror and noticed a white flash coming towards them. Ben moved the car to the left and avoided the attack that destroyed the ground. Then, a series of wind arrows headed towards the car, so Ben sped up to avoid them.
The attackers realized their efforts were futile and Team Ben keep getting farther ahead. So they decided to pursue them with their magic cars. Ben saw the cars pursuing them. There were 2 cars pursuing them and they were rather fast, so Ben grinned.
"I can leave them in the dust, but that won't be very interesting. Let's use the car to fight. After all, it was designed for that purpose." He stated.
