The next day, Ben wanted to practice with his light magic after practicing with some strange fire magic. But before he could do that, Roubaul called him to the guild hall.
"What is it, Gramps?" He asked.
"Here, try these on!" Roubaul exclaimed.
He threw a black T-shirt and short pants to Ben. The short pants had a scaly pattern on them.
"Are these made from the scales of those serpents?" He questioned.
"That's right, they were made from the scales of the female serpent. They're tougher than the male serpent's scales, probably because she transformed prior to death." Roubaul explained.
"Do they have resistance to heat?" Ben asked.
"I've added a heat resistant property to them, but they should be strong even without it. Try it first and check to see if it can withstand the heat!" Roubaul instructed.
"Alright." He nodded.
Ben told Bella to train with Wendy and Carla while he tried the clothes on. He headed to an empty area behind the village with Roubaul to try the clothes on.
He put the clothes on, then stood in the middle of the area. Ben assumed a horse stance and gathered his magic power. Then a red magic circle appeared on top of his head and a yellow magic circle appeared under his feet.
"Sun Mode: Super-Heated Body!" Ben yelled.
The 2 magic circles moved and passed through his body. When the magic circles met, they spin in a different direction and shrink until they're in Ben's body.
Pshhhh*
Ben's body started to heat up and his skin started to turn red. Steam came out of his body, and it kept getting redder and hotter. After a minute, his body glowed brightly like very hot steel.
Ben's normal outfit melted away, but the new clothes survived. Ben kept using his Sun Mode: Super-Heated Body to determine a limit, but it survived even after he ran out of magic power after 10 minutes.
"Hmm, the clothes work well and the material makes it stronger. From the looks of it, these clothes will be able to handle a temperature of 3000 degrees Celsius." Roubaul noted.
"So I need stronger clothes after exceeding 3000 degrees Celsius." Ben said.
"Yeah, you need better material to withstand higher temperatures. The other option is to find a good enchanter. Enchanters will be able to raise the material's resistance to a higher degree." Roubal elaborated.
"Hmm, it's difficult to find an enchanter. Fortunately we have one, but Wendy is still too young and doesn't know a lot of enchanting spells. I guess I'll try to find some for her." Ben stated.
"It will take years for her to become a high level enchanter, so you need to find good material too." The guild master added.
"Alright." He nodded.
"I will make some more clothes for you in case something happens when you use the spell." Roubaul told him.
"Ah Gramps, can you forge a weapon for me from those serpent's scales or bones? Maybe a knife or dagger with high resistance to heat." Ben called out.
"Alright, I plan to make clothes for Wendy that can act like armor, so I'll forge the weapon while I'm at it." Roubaul added.
He returned to the guild hall while Ben returned to his house. He wore a blue vest over his black shirt that has his guild's insignia on the left side of the chest.
He headed to the training area to practice his light magic. Like yesterday, he would use normal magic that he has collected. He might find interesting magic like Rainbow Fire.
"Light should have more color variations than fire, right? After all, a rainbow is a dispersion of light, not fire." Ben noted.
He read the list of light magic in A.I Chip's database. He only has 14 light magic spells in his collection and no colored light spells, but it was okay. Then he started to try each of the spells.
Most of his magic spell collections are just common spells or spells that are widely known. Only a few spells are rare, but their prices are high.
"Most of these light magic spells are destructive. I need more speed based spells and non-destructive spells." Ben grumbled.
He only found destructive or supportive spells in his light magic collection. For support, he just found a light orb for illumination and light flashes to blind the enemy.
He needs different uses of light magic other than offense or support. Ben has a thought about some light magic usage, but he needs more references.
"Light's best power is speed as nothing is faster than light, so I need to explore this aspect. Maybe I'll search for spells with speed enhancement from every element or even non-elemental magic." Ben pointed out.
Sunlight is the biggest form of light on this planet. That's why as a Sun Dragon Slayer, Ben could utilize the element of the sun to it's max.
He remembers the phrase speed is power and he wants to make it true. Light is the fastest thing in the world, so he wants to utilize it well.
"A human can't be as fast as light, but I'm certainly come close. The fastest man on Earthland doesn't sound so bad." Ben smirked.
For now, he can only do what's physically possible. He will try to improve his light magic with the spells he discovered.
A.I Chip dismantled all the magic circles from those spells. From the parts that were dismantled, Ben can try to combine them and make improvements on his spells, or even make new ones.
"A.I Chip, try to add heat to a light orb spell." He suggested.
[What about the temperature?]
"Just use 100 degrees Celsius for now, the heat of boiling water. We just want to test it, so use lower temperatures first." Ben answered.
A.I Chip processed the command with Ben observing it. He watched the process to learn it as he doesn't want to continue relying on A.I Chip for a task like this.
[Process complete, please input a name.]
"Let's just call it Hot Light Ball for the time being. It's still just a prototype, after all." Ben insisted.
[Inputting name. Hot Light Ball has been created.]
"Alright, let's do it." He declared.
Ben started gathering energy on his right hand. Then he made the magic circle following A.I Chip's directions. A small magic circle appeared on his hand and a light yellow ball appeared on it.
"Hmm, there's no change in color and I can't feel the heat. Maybe it's because I'm immune to this level of heat. Let's try it on water." He said.
Ben headed over to the lake and put the orb on top of the water. He saw the water start to heat up and steam slowly formed.
"Hmm, it's not that bad. Let's see if this has any firepower. This spell was used for illumination, so it shouldn't have firepower. But the head should've added some power to it." He noted.
Ben threw the sphere at the lake and immediately saw the effect.
Pshhh*
The orb just heated the water until it was steaming a little before the orb disappeared.
"The heat adds a little firepower to this non-destructive spell. Now I'm sure that will add more power to my light spells. That's good, but what about the cold?" Ben asked.
Ben tried the same thing as before, but this time he added a cold property to the spell. A.I Chip also successfully created the magic circle, but when he tried it, the magic circle became unstable and broke.
"It seems the light supports heat more than cold. Or maybe I need to add cold another way. Hmm, I need more references." He whispered.
Ben's experiments both succeeded and failed. However, this was a good step, he just needed to conduct more experiments.
