Back upstairs, Kellie having changed clothes, assessed her options. The aspirin kicked in dulling the pain enough for her to move around a little more easily. She assessed the room and started looking through drawers in the dresser, the closet, and a chest. In the closet, she found her jacket and at the bottom of the chest, she found her weapons.
After putting her jacket on and grabbing her weapons, Kellie crept out of her room and headed down the hall, looking for a way out. A door down the hall opened, a head peaked out and ducked back in before letting the door slam back shut.
Kellie cautiously moved towards the door. She knocked. No one answered. Kellie opened the door.
"Hello," She whispered as she peeked in. She saw Fred writing on the wall and then saw the amount of writing on the wall. She entered and shut the door softly.
"Hey, are you okay?" Kellie asked. Fred muttered a lot things Kellie couldn't understand.
"Do you need help?" Kellie asked, very concerned. She approached Fred cautiously. Fred shrunk back.
"Look I don't know exactly what's going on here," Kellie said, "But I can try to help you."
"Handsome man saved me," Fred said, "He helped."
"I'm not sure this would be considered help," Kellie replied, "I don't think it's safe to stay here."
"Not going back," Fred yelled, then turned back to frantically write on the walls, "Not going back. No! No! No!"
Kellie heard voices and footsteps running up the stairs as Fred's yells had attracted attention.
Kellie stood beside the door so that when it opened they wouldn't see her, keeping a knife drawn, but hidden.
Kellie grabbed the first person through door and put them in a headlock, holding the knife against their throat.
"Skittish," Gunn said, seeing Angel in Kellie's headlock, "Your house guest is more like a feral cat. What the hell did you do to Fred?"
"You mean her?," Kellie asked, looking at Fred, writing on the walls. Gunn nodded.
"What did I do to her?" Kellie asked, "I think the better question is what did you do to her. She's obviously not in her right mind and needs professional help which you clearly aren't getting her. So give me one good reason why I shouldn't take her and get her the help she needs."
"You obviously mean well, Miss…." Wesley said.
"My name's not up for discussion," Kellie said, "You can take your pick of my identities."
"Kellie," Angel said, as Kellie tightened her grip on him, "I know your name starts with K. You almost gave it to me last night. It's the only name on any of your ids that starts with K."
"You might stop talking considering I'm the one holding the knife," Kellie said.
Gunn held back a laugh and said to Cordelia under his breathe, "Somebody should tell her."
Cordelia did laugh.
Wesley glared at them.
"Really not helping," Angel said.
"Look Miss Kellie," Wesley said, "I can assure you despite how it seems here, Fred here is in no danger from us and neither are you."
"I'm not exactly sure why I should believe you," Kellie said.
Fred turned to see Kellie holding the knife on Angel.
"Save handsome man," she yelled and rushed at Kellie. Fred pounded her firsts on Kellie's back.
Kellie winced as Fred hit some of the bruises. Angel grabbed the knife as Gunn intervened to separate Fred from Kellie and Angel.
Kellie went to reach for another weapon as Angel grabbed her wrist.
"Enough with the weapons," Angel said as Kellie tried to evade and get out of Angel's grip. Meanwhile, Fred lunged, yelling at Kellie not to hurt the handsome man who saved her from being a cow.
"Angel, get her out of here," Gunn said, struggling to hold Fred.
"Come on," Angel said, gently pulling Kellie towards the door, but she still fought him.
Angel just looked exasperated and then proceeded to lift Kellie and throw her over his shoulder like she was nothing despite her struggles. Then he strolled out of the room.
Gunn and Wesley stayed back with Fred as Cordelia followed Angel and Kellie.
Fred calmed down seeing that Angel was out of danger and yelled, "Stabby girl was cow too. Don't let them take her back."
Charles and Wesley looked at each other.
"Now shoo," Fred said, waving her hands towards the door, "Help…..NOW."
Gunn and Wesley quickly left.
Meanwhile, Kellie had realized nothing she did phased Angel as he carried her all the way down the stairs.
"Please just put me down please," Kellie pleaded, frantic and panicked as something registered with her that Angel had a lot of physical power, she couldn't match even with her weapons and intellect.
Angel set Kellie on the lobby couch. Kellie scrambled, grabbing her gun and aiming it at Angel.
"I know things are kind of confusing, but none of us are going to hurt you or Fred," Angel said, stepping back,"I promise you don't need the gun, the knives, or any of your other weapons."
Cordelia entered the area.
"Cordelia just stay back," Angel said.
"We save her life and this is the thanks we get," Cordelia said, "Being held at gunpoint."
"Angel, back further away from her," Wesley said from the top of the stairs
Angel looked up at Wesley and Gunn and backed away from Kellie.
"Now Miss Kellie," Wesley said, "I assure you no one wishes you harm. If you really want to leave, no one will stop you."
"Wait a minute," Angel said, "It might not be safe for her to…"
"No one will stop you," Wesley said firmly, "It's up to you if you want to stay or if you want to leave."
The front door to the hotel opened and Lorne walked in.
"You could have warned me I'd be walking into a stand-off, Angel cakes," Lorne said, then turned his attention to Kellie, "Aren't you a wild one?"
