A dark-haired man, wearing a suit, walked into the lobby.

"How can we help you?" Wesley asked politely.

"My fiancee may have been kidnapped not far from here," the man said, "I'm wondering if you might have seen her or know anything. I know you're an investigation firm. I'm not looking to hire you, but just see if there may be something the police missed."

"And you are," Wesley asked.

"Excuse me, Ethan Esoterra," the man said, extending his hand out.

"Wesley Wyndam-Pryce," Wesley said, shaking his hand, "We're not aware of any kidnappings in the area."

"I asked the police to keep it quiet," Ethan said, "It's a delicate situation where my business rivals may be involved. I don't want to upset them with accusations or a loud investigation."

"Of course not," Wesley said, "Could you tell me more about what happened?"

"She's gone missing," Ethan said, "Her last known location was several blocks away. We got a report she was approached by a group of people. We don't know much else."

Ethan slid a picture of Kellie to Wesley.

Wesley looked at it, "I haven't seen her. What about you?"

Wesley hand the photo to Gunn who looked it over. Gunn shook his head.

"Have you heard of any odd activity going on?" Ethan asked, "It's imperative I find her for her own protection. I couldn't bear it if anything happened to her. Even if it doesn't seem like it's unrelated, let me know."

"As far as we know, it was fairly quiet last night," Gunn said, "Nothing out of the ordinary. Do you have a card or number we could reach you at in case we hear of something?"

"Yes, that would be most appreciated," Ethan said, pulling a business card out of his pocket."

"Does your fiancee have a name?" Wesley asked.

"Yes, Kellie Riley," Ethan said, "Though she does for safety reasons occasionally use an alias."

"We'll keep that in mind," Gunn said.

"I appreciate. Your willingness to assist," Ethan said, "I must be going."

As Ethan had been gone for several minutes, Lorne stepped out of the office.

"The amount of ick and creep rolling off that man," Lorne said, "I don't know how you two held it together and remained civil towards him."

"Well, keeping him away from our guest, is more important," Wesley said, "He views her as nothing more than a possession. He didn't refer to her by her name unless asked."

"Asking the police to keep it quiet," Gunn said, "He just wants to find her before it were to become public she got away from him."

Upstairs

Cordelia opened the door to Kellie's room where Angel gently set her down in a standing position on the floor.

Kellie attempted to move quickly away from Angel, but winced in pain instead. Angel backed up giving her space.

"I won't hurt you," Angel said, "I think you know that if I was going to hurt you I would have when you pulled the knife and the gun."

"But you could no matter what I tried," Kellie said, "I don't know why that is."

"There is an explanation if you want it," Cordelia said.

"No," Kellie said, quickly.

"But maybe…" Cordelia protested.

Angel shook his head at her, "It's her choice."

"I just want to leave," Kellie said.

"I know," Angel said, "At least stay long enough to be able to run away without hurting."

"Who knows maybe we can get rid of your creep for you," Cordelia said, "Even if you did hold us hostage."

"The green dude downstairs doesn't have all my weapons," Kellie said, "You might want to keep that in mind."

"You know what, I don't think you need your weapons while you're here," Cordy said, looking at her expectantly, "Angel…."

"I'm going to go downstairs and see what's going on," Angel said, hurriedly walked towards the door, "Cordy, make sure that she gets some pain pills or something."

"Oh sure, leave me with the weapon toting vigilante," Cordelia said.

"Just leave the pills there," Kellie said, "You can go."

"I'll leave them by the bed," Cordelia said, moving to set the pills on the nightstand and then heading back towards the door.

Kellie slowly inched her way towards the bed.

"I can't watch this," Cordelia said, turning back towards Kellie, "I'm going to help you to the bed. You are not going to karate chop me. Freaking Angel, thinking he's being considerate setting you on the floor instead of the bed."

Kellie was confused by Cordelia's rant as Cordelia came alongside her and helped her to the bed.

"Thank you," Kellie said, skeptically.

"Look, just feel better, okay," Cordelia said, "When you're feeling better, I'm going to get every detail out of you we need make sure your stalker can't hurt you again. You know what, just tell us what he did to you?"

Kellie didn't answer and looked away.

"Fine," Cordelia said, turning on her heels, "We will continue this conversation later."

Before she reached the door, she stopped when she heard Kellie softly say, "He raped me."

Cordelia turned and looked at Kellie.

"He held me in a cabin for three days and…" Kellie said, "Well you can fill in the blanks."

"He's still walking around free?" Cordelia replied.

Kellie nodded, "So-called legal technicalities and a lot of money, family connections. He tried again when he found me. I thought here was far enough from his reach for the police to do something, but well the police report is probably just collecting dust."

"Oh," Cordelia said, having more questions but also realizing that she'd probably gotten all she would out of Kellie.
