Ben was excited when he found out what the woman's magic is. It's a new magic he didn't know about. Her magic allows her to connect her comrades sight and possibly their senses.
He wanted to know exactly how her magic worked. But A.I Chip isn't able to scan it, so he needed to ask the woman even if involved a little force. Ben always liked to learn new magic, although it didn't mean he would use it. He just liked to increase A.I Chip's magic database.
'Fighting them to gain more experience isn't a priority. I'll defeat them quickly and learn about their magic in the process. The acid and rope magic is interesting too. I never learned about it before.' Ben thought.
"Bella, you can join the fight. But only incapacitate them." Ben instructed.
"Yay." She was happy.
Ben removed his revolver from it's holster and spun the cylinder to use the lightning attack. Ben started to fire at the 3rd man that controlled the flying blades. The man was surprised and was unable to block the shots from Bella's Gatling gun.
She aimed at his body and hit him dead on. The rapid shots made it impossible for him to use his magic. So he was knocked out after a few rounds.
Luckily, magic attacks aren't physical attacks. So it didn't destroy his body and as a mage, he was strong enough to take those attacks. But he was still injured and the rapid-fire instantly knocked him out.
The other mages were surprised. Ben seized the opportunity to shoot at the 1st man who used Rope Magic. He fired a barrage of lightning bullets. The shots electrocuted the man and knocked him out as well.
The 2nd man and woman were really surprised now. They seemed to fight equally and even gained the advantage. But in an instant, two of their comrades were struck down after Ben and Bella displayed their weapons.
They snapped out of it when Bella resumed firing on them. The man made a wall of acid to block Bella's shots. But then Ben appeared to his right and punched him in the face.
The man was sent flying, leaving the woman alone. Ben gave chase to the man, while Bella continued shooting at the woman. This man seemed to be their leader because the woman hid behind him. So Ben now knew he was the strongest among these mages.
His assumption turned out to be correct. The man is the leader and the strongest mage in their group. He quickly got back up after being punched by Ben. A big green magic circle appeared underneath his feet. Then a lot of green acid appeared around him and he turned it into tentacles.
"Acidic Whips!" The man shouted.
The acid tentacles began to slap Ben like whips. He dodged the tentacles and they hit the ground. The acid quickly caused the ground to corrode.
Ben frowned because if he continued dodging, the acid will corrode the ground around him. He will lose his foothold slowly if he let that happen. He needed to destroy the tentacles as soon as possible.
Ben added more power to the light magic covering his feet. He kept dodging while adding the power. Then after he added enough power, Ben used the light to propel himself up.
Ben jumped 15 meters into the air and gathered magic power in his hands. He covered his right hand with solar energy and created a orange magic circle in front of him. He even mad magic circle in front of the 50 cm magic circle.
The man below knew Ben intended to execute his strongest attack. So he adds more power to his magic. He created more acid and gathered his acid tentacles into a big clump. He shaped the clump of tentacles into a spear and thrust it at Ben.
Ben saw the acid spear zoom towards him and waited for it. He waited while increasing the solar energy on his right hand until it covered his whole hand. When the spear almost reached him, Ben made his move.
"Sun Dragon Fist: 2nd Gear!" Ben punched the smaller magic circle with his super hot fist. The magic circle generated a 50 cm glowing orange punch. It sped forward and struck the bigger magic circle. It then create punch that moved towards the giant acid spear.
2nd Gear isn't a new spell that he created. Well, he did, but it was simply a variation of Sun Dragon Fist. He came up with the idea when he thought of a way to easily strengthen his fist attacks.
Then he thought that rather than improving the old spell which would take a long time, he could add a new magic circle for a power-up. It is a solution to raise the spell's power instantly. He will still work on his mastery to strengthen the spell, but this technique isn't so bad either.
BOOM* The giant fist hit the giant acid spear and engulfed it. With the heat from Ben's attack, the acid instantly evaporated upon contact.
The enemy mage's eyes widened after he saw his magic evaporate. He wants to run away, but Ben's attack quickly approached him. He wasn't able to run away and was hit by Ben's glowing punch.
BOOM* The impact from Ben's attack striking the mage and the ground generated a booming sound. The dust scattered everywhere and also cracked the ground.
All eyes move to the impact crater. Bella's battle with the woman, which can't be called a battle, ceased. The woman merely created a magic shield to block Bella's shots. She wasn't a fighter, she was a supporter.
Ben's attack dispersed and soon the flying dust dispersed. On the ground was a big crater shaped like a fist. In the middle of the crater was his opponent, knocked out cold.
Ben's victory wasn't that strange. The weird part was that the ground didn't burn. Ben's punch was hot enough to instantly evaporate acid and everyone around it felt the heat.
What exactly happened was Ben altering his magic's properties at the last minute. He made it so his magic didn't burn even though it was hot. This is something he learned from Roubaul while crafting his revolver.
When Roubaul informed him, Ben didn't believe what he was saying at all. After all, it's impossible for fire or heat at a high temperature to not burn. But then Roubaul showed him personally, and he was left speechless. A.I Chip had a hard time understanding it, so it needed to do some research.
Ben continued learning about him while heating the mithril. It's only been 3 days since he successfully understood it. He doesn't fully understand it, but he successfully used it just now.
'Damn, I almost screwed that up. I forgot to calculate that my attack will hit the guy and only focused on the acid. If I fail, I might kill this guy and it will be a problem for our guild even though he's a robber.' Ben sighed in relief with his success.
Ben looked at the female mage and she surrendered almost immediately. She wasn't able to fight like her comrades, so it was best for her to surrender without a struggle. The rest of the robbers also surrendered after witnessing the mages being knocked unconscious.
Ben proceeded to tie the robbers up and free the civilians. He ordered them to leave and let him handle the robbers after displaying his guild insignia. They thank him and leave with their carriages.
After they left, Ben had a mischievous grin on his face. "Now then, we need to talk."
The robbers shiver, even though he just wanted to talk to them. His grin was really scary. They all thought the same thing, 'This kid is scary.'
