This is the Finale of the Veteran's Day Special. Last time, the efforts to reclaim the Sanctum Sanctorum proved in vain. For one, Lilith and Malefor have somehow put Venom under their control, and he's guarding it. But even well-timed help from Spider-Man couldn't fix the dread ending: Lilith and Malefor have captured Spyro and Scarlet Witch. Not even remotely a good thing. So, what's about to happen? Read on to discover...

(Our scene opens back at the Abbey on a dark and stormy night, where Doctor Strange, Blade, and Cynder are returning after the loss of the Sanctum Sanctorum, and they're greeted by a pretty angered Caretaker)

Caretaker: (Sarcastic as all hell) Congratulations.

Cynder: Look, Caretaker, I know that none of us are in the mood for sarcasm right now. So if you would, please put the look away.

Doctor Strange: What look?

Blade: The look.

Caretaker: Boldly charging headfirst into the jaws of the enemy, courageously risking yourself and the lives of your teammates. Just so you can play the hero.

Cynder: I don't like what you're intimating, Caretaker. And frankly I'm insulted by it.

Caretaker: You listen here, girl. I will not have you putting our only hope on the line.

Doctor Strange: Oh, now I see it. That look.

Cynder: And I will have you know, that was The Hunter's idea.

Blade: Cut her some slack. It wasn't that simple.

Caretaker: It never is. Why do you think I sent you along? You were supposed to help. And if it weren't for Spider-Man, we could have lost far more than...

Doctor Strange: Than the Sanctum?

Blade: Or Wanda?

Cynder: Or Spyro? Or do you mean losing the living weapon you let plant itself in my head? The same one who you turned against their own mother? Well I will let you know something, "Caretaker". Your precious Hunter may have come back, but we've not only lost my best friend... (Shows a previously obscured golden ring on her tail) and my fiance. The only dragon I've ever loved, who you seem to really distrust for reasons that nobody has made clear to me yet.

Caretaker: If you've seen what I have seen, you would know the reasons I have.

Cynder: If you mean Dark Spyro, I've seen that many times.

Caretaker: It's more than that.

Cynder: What? Do you think he's going to become another Malefor just because they're both Purple Dragons?!

(A hush falls over the clearing as Caretaker considers retaliation, eyes glowing. But ultimately, she chooses not to.)

Caretaker: You've been through a lot today. And for now, it's enough that you're all back... relatively unscathed.

(With that, Blade and Doctor Strange leave the area, with Doctor Strange shooting Caretaker a "What the Hell?" glance. With that, Caretaker turns back to Cynder)

Cynder: We are not done discussing this.

Caretaker: For once, we're on the same page. Get some rest.

(With that, Cynder shakes off the accumulated rain and heads back into the Abbey. And before we know it, Cynder's set up in one of the Abbey's residential chambers. After punching the wall in frustration with Caretaker, Cynder realizes how tired she really is and decides she probably should get some rest. And just as she crawls into bed, she bursts into tears over losing her beloved Spyro in this madness, slowly but surely crying herself to sleep. Only her sleep is far from sound, as nightmares flood her mind, but these are no ordinary nightmares, they're The Hunter's memories, flooding a white void with voices from the past)

Will Walker: They're everywhere! We must fall back!

Jeremiah Kane: To where?!

Agatha Harkness: The book! Is she reading from the book?!

Cynder: (Recognizing that voice) Agatha?

Caretaker: Then we advance.

The Hunter: No! Hold the line! I can stop her. Only I can stop her!

(And sure enough, as Cynder stands there, a version of Lilith appears, only... slightly different from what we know now.)

Lilith: (Recognizing The Hunter on her) Child...

(But the nightmare doesn't give much to Cynder, as she immediately wakes up to a literal devil dog licking her in the face)

Cynder: Who the...? (Thinks about it) You're the Hunter's pooch, aren't you? (Looks down at the collar around her neck) You smell your old master on me, don't you. (Sighs) I hate to disappoint, but I'm not them.

(Suddenly, Caretaker appears in the doorway, apparently she let the dog in.)

Caretaker: Just let Charlie enjoy the moment. She's been visiting this door every day for 300 years.

Cynder: Guess this has been hard on her.

Caretaker: She's not the only one. Which is probably why I was a little curt with you earlier.

Cynder: "A little" is an understatement.

Caretaker: I already saw The Hunter make the ultimate sacrifice once. Maybe I'm just in no rush to see them do it again while dragging you with them.

Cynder: They didn't choose this. None of us did.

Caretaker: Maybe they didn't choose that, but they could choose to duck.

Cynder: (Rolling her eyes admittedly playfully) First lesson you ever told them?

Caretaker: Spot on. And still the most important one you need to learn. Especially now with all these eyes on you.

Cynder: Now I'm starting to get how Spyro felt.

Caretaker: Don't forget, you share this quest with one many consider a legend. A hero of old. And they're part right. The Hunter was a hero in their day. And I have regretfully underestimated this point, so are you. But I know the struggle that wrestles in your mind right now. The Hunter was always torn between their mother and me. That's why I didn't stop them from merging with you. I can only hope you'll be the one who can balance them. Perhaps this is where you'll prove me wrong about you and your betrothed.

Cynder: (Sarcastically) No pressure.

Caretaker: I'm sure you'll have chances to prove yourself, or rather yourselves, over the coming days. But for now, I'd head to the Forge. Your friends are very eager to show you something.

Cynder: Man, I'm starting to wish Agatha was here.

Caretaker: That makes two of us.

(And with that, Cynder, followed by Charlie, leaves the chambers and heads into the Abbey, ending our tale for today)

This concludes the Veteran's Day Special. Once again, a hearty thank you to our veterans, both active duty and otherwise, for their service. Anyways, looks like Caretaker's starting to lighten up about Cynder, and is giving possibility that she'll do the same for Spyro. So, what does the team have to show down in the Forge? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
