The 2nd day of the battle exam started. Ben also overheard the S-Class plotting something against them and warned his students. This didn't discourage them, quite the opposite, it got them fired up.

There will be 3 rounds in today's match. The first one was to decide the top 32 from 64 students attending the school. The 2nd round will decide the top 16 and the last round is to decide the top 8 for the quarter final.

Tomorrow, they will hold the Quarter Final, Semifinal, 3rd place match and Grand Final. That's why the students needed to maintain their matches for today and tomorrow. But they still need to prioritize winning or they won't even need to use the saved energy.

The tournament started in all 4 arenas. 2 of Ben's students will fight now. It was Hans who used Illusion Magic and Gea who used Bubble Magic. Hans was up against a S-Class student, while Gea faced a C-Class student.

There wasn't a issue with Gea's match because her opponent was a lot weaker than her. But Hans' opponent was troublesome because the S-Class students were up to no good.

Hans and Gea walked into the arena confidently. They knew training for months with Ben and Raul will not disappoint them. They will win their battles and show the others that they're not useless.

The matches start and all eyes shifted to Hans' battle. His opponent was a boy that continued to smile wickedly. He also continued cracking his neck and knuckles in the arena.

"Hans, long time no see." The boy said, smiling wickedly at Hans.

"Yeah, it's been over a year since we talked, Rowan." Hans said.

"Heh, you seem a lot braver now than you were a little over a year ago." Rowan smirked.

"They know each other?" Ben asked, watching the exchange.

"Yeah, Rowan bullied Hans before we became students. He and his friends often beat Hans up together." Ron explained.

"Hmm, then Hans needs to resolve this in order to move forward." Ben said.

While Hans and Rowan were talking, Gea started her battle. She created some basketball-sized bubbles to surround her opponent. Her opponent was a boy who looked to be scared of her.

He tried to dodge the bubbles, but then his shoulder touched a bubble and popped it. The popped bubbles created a explosion of air. Then it created a chain reaction and popped the other bubbles which created explosions too.

The explosions hit the boy multiple times and made him fly around the arena because of the impacts. The referee moved fast and saved the boy before he was badly injured. Then the referee announced Gea's victory.

Hans saw Gea's fast victory and decided to begin his battle too. Rowan also thought the same thing and immediately used his magic. Rowan created a brown magic circle under his feet and then a lot of sand appeared.

Rowan fired a lot of sand bullets at Hans. He remained still, waiting for the sand bullets. Rowan grinned, but then froze when his bullets passed through Hans' body.

"What the-" Rowan was left speechless because he felt a sharp pain in his stomach.

Hans suddenly appeared in front of him and punched Rowan with all his strength. Hans' punch was really strong, as Ben trained all his students in physical strength.

Rowan was flung back and rolled on the ground until he hit the arena's barrier. He coughed up some blood and gasped for air while looking at Hans in disbelief.

"Y-you, but how? You were there a moment ago. You're there now." Rowan pointed at 'Hans' who stood on the other side of the arena.

Rowan's eyes widened when 'Hans' slowly disappeared. The one Rowan attacked was just an illusion that Hans created. He stealthily created it while he and Rowan were talking.

"This is the end Rowan." Hans said.

After Hans said that, Rowan suddenly saw some wild beasts running towards him. He knew they were just illusions, but he can't help but be very scared. Then when the wild beasts jumped at him, Rowan fainted.

Ben and Raul smiled while the S-Class teacher was fuming with rage. Rowan wasn't the best in S-Class, but he was still a S-Class student. Losing to a E-Class student was an embarrassment.

"Defeating an old enemy will help Hans move on. It will lift a lot of weight from his shoulders." Ben said.

"That S-Class student can use strong magic, but his usage of magic is not that good. What's their teacher actually taught in 1 year?" Carla asked.

"He taught them how to fight every once and a while, but it's just light sparring. They aren't experienced with real battles like our class, so their judgment and battle senses are low. Sparring is a lot different than a actual battle, after all." Raul answered.

"Then they aren't ready to take most of the jobs in guilds." Carla sighed.

Hans and Gea return and their friends happily congratulate them. Their class had the lowest amount of students, so they are close to each other. The other classes had 30 students, except the S-Class with 20 students.

The tournament continued and now it was Mina's turn. She also fought a S-Class student. Her opponent was a girl that looked calm and composed. She didn't seem to hate the E-Class like her classmates did.

"I'm sorry about my classmates' behavior. They're very arrogant with their power and look down on other classes. All of them are very childish, even our teacher." The girl apologized.

Mina was stunned.

"You're very direct and honest with your words." She said.

"This is how I am. Besides, I know your class is strong when I found out he taught you." The girl smiled and looked at Ben.

"You know Ben nii-san?" Mina asked.

"Yes. I'm the mayor's daughter and my family often gave him jobs that our men couldn't handle. He always successfully completed the jobs. He is a great mage and my father really trusts him." The girl explained.

"Woah, he never failed? As I expected from Ben nii-san." Mina said.

"Honestly, I'm jealous of you. If I could, I would join E-Class. But too bad, I know I'm late." The girl admitted.

"It's okay, we can talk about it another time. I'm Mina, what's your name?" Mina asked.

"Rose, nice to meet you." Rose introduced herself to Mina.

"Nice to meet you too, Rose." Mina said.

Rose and Mina's conversation ended and their battle commenced. They prepared their spells and went on the attack. Mina transformed into a wolf while Rose created a lot of red flower petals.

Rose sent the petals to attack Mina and forced her to dodge. The petals hit the floor and damaged it a little. They were powerful even though they were small.

"Is that Flower Magic?" Wendy asked.

"I think it's Plant Magic, but it seems she only uses roses, maybe to match her name. But that also means she can produce thorny vines." Ben guessed.

Ben was right, because a moment later, Rose created some thorny vines. The vines headed towards Mina who was dodging the petals in her wolf form. Mina saw the vines coming her way and dodged right on time.

Then Mina transformed into a armadillo. She rolled herself up into a ball and moved towards Rose. She dodged the petals while rolling.

Then when Mina approached Rose, she transformed into a big snake. Mina binds Rose with her long body and prevented her from moving. Rose couldn't move to prepare a spell, so she conceded and Mina won.

The E-Class students also easily won their later matches. They can win easily even when facing S-Class students. Their experience level was different, after all.

"It seems we will win this tournament eventually." Ben said with a smile.
