The day was young, bright and beautiful. In a little corner of a busy city a Japanese woman worked her job taking orders and managing the noodle restaurant she worked for. A young man approached her to make an order.

"So that was two larger noodle bowls, 1 bottled tea and 1 bottled water to go right?"

"Yes ma'am! Oh, and some of those eggrolls too."

"Got it. What's the order name?"

"Lee."

"Ree, got it."

The young man sighed with his head low and waited for his food. Soon it was ready. He gave payment and left. Everything seemed normal until the woman beheld an unusual sight.

The young man walked out with his food and a few steps away from his exit tripped.

For a second she regretted seeing him fall in such a way after so much work had been put into his order, but her pang of impending worry was immediately replaced by dumbfounded confusion.

The young man just, vanished. Out of thin air he was just gone. There was what she swore was a black shadowy figure of completely unidentifiable characteristics appear and disappear with the her former customer and his food.

Wiping her glasses and checking recent orders she confirmed that the young man was in fact real and that he had apparently just vanished.

"What in the world..."

The vision of Jiangliang "Jenrya" Lee went dark for a moment. When he could see again he determined that he was on the rooftop of a building not far from the restaurant he most recently visited. He also noticed he was in the embrace of Renamon.

He looked at the vixen. Their faces being so very close in proximity made his own go red and warm. Hers felt similiar but she chose to break the tension by lifting her free arm up to reveal two bags one of which was his recent purchase.

"Ehem. Food is here and fine, Jenrya. Why don't we eat here?"

A rooftop was never a place she thought a date would take place. Not that she minded, not at all.

He slowly backed out of her embrace. Gently pushing away his hand brushed against her fur. It made his skin tingle and his chest feel tight over the softness of her coat.

"Thanks Renamon and yeah I am fine with that."

The two ate well. The restaurant had a reputation for it's noodles and Renamon was treated to a stupefying series of magnificent flavours. All from one bowl of ramen was something she never thought possible.

"So wadda ya think?"

Renamon leaned on his shoulder wiping her mouth with one of the restaurant napkins while he waited her response.

"Jenrya, this is an incredible taste."

"Told you so. Best noodle place for miles! It ain't cheap, but man, always worth it."

"Well lately I have been so used to cooking my own food or accepting what grandmother makes. I must admit that was excel...wait. Tell me you didn't spend too much on me did you?"

Jenrya shrugged.

"I mean I thought that's what guys do on dates? I dunno I am not a dating expert or anything. You are my first girlfriend after all but I figured this much was normal, gifts and dinner, or in this case lunch."

Renamon gathered her thoughts before responding.

"I see. Still you've been so nice to me between the gifts, the food and just being you.I still find it hard someone like you has never been in a relationship when you are so kind and very handsome."

The young man was left puzzled, but happy.

"Handsome?"

A tiny sliver of hesitation in Renamon's soul was violently removed from her entire being as she pushed forward to give him a truthful compliment.

"Quite, Jenrya. Standards of conventional attractiveness between humans and human-shape digimon are not as different as you think. Both have much in common with what I personally find attractive. I learned this recently partially thanks to you. Being a warrior all my life I never gave it or the very concept of romance much thought, but you? You are very handsome."

Overwhelmed he gave her his response with a big smile and redder cheeks.

"Wow...I appreciate that. I do try to stay groomed and keep myself in shape. I've just never had anyone really mention it before now, well, maybe once from mom. I mean I guess I am decent to look at if I managed to date you. I don't know if you look in mirror as much as a human girl, but damn, you are plenty to look at and all of it very beautiful. I'll be honest and say I never thought I'd pull someone too good looking the first time, but clearly I was wrong."

Jenrya was happy but unsure if his choice and arrangement of words were ideal for pleasing her.

Renamon assured him she was more than happy with his return compliment and dissolving all of his doubts. The two of them were not at all used to this whole flirting thing but seemed to please the other with their attempts regardless and that was enough for the young couple.

Satisfied with his meal Jenrya leaned back and sighed for a moment before speaking again. "Man, I never expected a date on the top of an abandoned building but sitting up here with you just eating and talking is kinda relaxing, I have to say."

"Absolutely." Said Renamon now again leaning on Jenrya shoulder appreciating his company and the atmosphere around them.

Renamon sighed remembering that the two of them soon had to return. She wanted to sit there with him until at least nightfall, but this would do for now. Renamon closed her eyes and focused her mind on her partner. She wasn't terrible close, so relying on their mental bond to communicate was not as easy, but she managed to say something to her.

"Ruki."

Far, far off in a restaurant reasonably far away from where she lived Ruki Makino practically jumped her seat much to the shock of her significant other. She composed herself and mentally replied to her Digimon partner.

"Renamon? Hey, you scared me."

"Having a good time I hope, I sure did."

In due time Renamon made a mental note to slap herself. Though typically more reserved, the Digimon found herself unable to hide that much between the very nature of a mental conversation and the fact that she herself had a pleasant date. She did something else out of her usual character for the sake of preserving that character, lie.

"I...had quite a time running past my usual city limits. Ehem, regardless the day grows older by the second. Enjoy yourself, but remember that Mother and Grandmother will surely grow concerned if you stay gone for too long. I will return now in order to try and cover for you."

The truth of Renamon's words caused Ruki to frantically check her phone and try to maintain composed. "Yeah wow uh i'll keep that in mind." Ruki replied.

"Yeah if you could do that I'd appreciate it" The human said to her partner."

"Of course" Said Renamon who intended to bid farewell to Ruki until her boyfriend chimed in unsure of why she simply sat there.

"Hey, Renamon, you okay?" He asked. Renamon blinked her eyes and suddenly she was no longer facing her partner in darkness, but the facing her lover in the remaining light of day.

"Oh, yes, Jenrya-kun. That is, how should I put this, a thing Ruki and I do. I realised now the day grows later and later. We still have some time before nightfall, but I did agree to cover for her, should family ask questions. "Perhaps within the hour I should leave.". His change of face hurt her spirits pushing her to speak her mind. "But this has been a fantastic date and I would like to have many more with you. I am still learning of how these 'dates' even work, but its been a lovely time with you."

That made Jenrya smile giving her exactly what she wanted. Her stomach feel lighter and her heart warmer.

"Yeah of course!" Said the smiling human man. Soon after Renamon took his hand and they vanished.

They spent the little time they had simply looking at the sky and chatting. After many minutes of travel the two were back behind a large tree in a dark corner of the Makino yard. Renamon leaned on the tree for a moment to rest. Eventually she sunk into sitting on the ground beneath it. "You okay?" Jenrya asked after sitting next to her.

"Yes..." Renamon said breathing heavily. She looked around to be sure they were still not seen. The ever eagle-eyed fox would use this and the shadowy darkness cast upon them by a nearby large tree to her advantage. She leaned her head her head on his shoulder like before.

A few minutes passed and Jenrya figured he should leave to avoid suspicion. He would gasp when he found himself forced behind an obscured corner of the yard beyond the tree they rested on, but unlike before, the person pulling him was far gentler than Ruki. He blinked and saw Renamon in front of him no longer trying to catch her breathe. Her hands where on each of the taller man's shoulders. "I must personally thank you again for such a time."

"Yeah no prob..." Jenrya's response was cut short by her pulling him into a hug. The way she looked at him afterwards told him how much she was dying to kiss him. His lips had an addicting property to them she was not yet ready for given the situation as several miles away from home. She could sense her partner drawing closer and closer. So instead Renamon moved to place a kiss on his cheek. She felt the human grow warmed within her grasp.

"Lets do this again soon" were her final words before releasing him and vanishing.

After a long and pleasant day of doing nothing, Rumiko Makino sat down in her couch while making idle chat with her mother. "Where is that girl? Why did she just leave without saying anything?!"

Rumiko's mother, Seiko laughed. "Its fine. She's out with friends. Between them and Renamon she'll be fine, Rumiko."

Speak of the vixen and she appears. Renamon moved into the Makino living room with a faint smile and an odd sway to her movements Rumiko noticed.

"Oh Renamon. Welcome home!" greeted Rumiko. Oh, greetings, mother."

"You look oddly chipper today? Have a good day?"

Renamon's face remained unchanged, but Rumiko's question made her somewhat tense. This was best observed by how her swaying tail had suddenly puffed out a bit and froze in place for a mere moment. From where she stood Rumiko did not notice, Seiko did and smiled.

"I...suppose. When given absolute assurance that Ruki would be in safe company among her school friends, I...did my usual runs this time going beyond my usual limits of the province. I am somewhat tired now, but satisfied. Oh yes and Ruki really seems to quite like that arcade was it called? A lively place, but a bit noisy for me."

"Is that were she's been all day?" asked Rumiko

"I believe that is at least where she last was, though not necessarily all day. I am uncertain." Said Renamon shrugging.

Seiko would begin to see through Renamon's rare deception, but not think any less of for it. To her seeing the fox woman make up excuses for her ignorance was a little odd. However that look in her eyes the older woman knew all too well was still there and brighter now. It was adorable to the grandmother. Though now was not the time to bring that up.

"Now if you will excuse me I must wash myself." Renamon said bowing and excused herself to shower.

The Lee household was quite peaceful. More so by its oldest remaining son's return. Jenyra plopped down on the family couch and sighed. "What a day, a damn good one." With his sibling staying over at her friend's house, the man's own residence was pleasantly quiet. The only thing to liven this up a bit was Terriermon waking up from another one of his naps to greet his best friend. "Jiaaaaaaannnn, where have you been?" The relaxed man in a brief moment enjoyed the sound of his partner's voice, until he had processed what Terriermon said. He nervously gulped a spat out a nervous sentence. He tried dressing it was a casual way of speaking to hide that.

"Oh, I went up to meet some folks and eat at a nice restaurant." The small green and white dog-rabbit looked at him with excitement. "Oh did you got to that nice noodle place again?" "I did, in fact." "Oh! Did ya bring me some..." The digimon stopped mid statement to notice something familiar tickling his sense of smell, it was faint but familiar. "Oh Jian?" "Yeah?" "Did you see...a digimon today, smells like Renamon maybe." The human fought against his tight throat just to speak. "Ya, yeah, I passed her by, we chatted and I left and...er...oh, hey! I brought you some of those rolls you like!" Terriermon thought nothing more of the situation, his mind going straight to food as it often did. "Oh! Yippe!" "I put them in the fridge but I can heat some of you like." "Please!"

With the situation somewhat diffused and Terriermon happily forsaking all else for food, his partner retired to his room just as the night had come. Soon sleep would take him.
