The gang thought they weren't going to have any mysteries during Garden Fest, but they were wrong. When Natsu and Happy were alone, they were almost attacked by some sort of phantom. Regrouping with the others, they investigated and met the upcoming rock band named Blight. However, they think the band might have something to do with the phantom that Natsu and Happy saw.

"There he is." Erza said as she and Gray were being sneaky. When Dragon Fire went off on his own and the two of them followed him. They watched Dragon Fire go into a small clothing store. The two of them were careful as they moved to the window store to see what he was doing. They spotted him looking over some clothes.

"I thought this guy was trying to be a rock star." Gray said. "Why blow off his band just to do a little clothes shopping?"

"Take a good look at the clothes he already has." Erza said as she pointed to what he was holding. "They're all black. Black would be a good color for someone who is pretending to be a phantom." It does seem like their is something suspicious about this band. Is there really a connection between them and the phantom?

...

Natsu and Lucy

While Erza and Gray were investigating Dragon Fire; Natsu, Happy, and Lucy went to the alleyway where Natsu and Happy first encountered the phantom. They searched around for clues, but there was no sign of any clues anywhere.

"There's nothing here." Lucy said. "I'm not saying I don't believe you guys, but are you sure it was a phantom that attacked you?"

"Yes! He sure looked like a phantom!" Natsu said. "I've learned a few things myself during all the times we solved mysteries, and that was definitely a phantom." Happy was in full agreement as he sat on Natsu's shoulder. Just then, Happy got scared as he felt a hand pressed against his back, practically screeched in Natsu's ears. "Ow! Happy!"

"Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you." All three of them had a look and saw it was just Wilbert Sparta.

"Wilbert?! What are you doing here?!" Lucy said.

"I just finished meeting with my business partner and was on my way back to the hotel when I saw you all here." Wilbert said. "What are you doing here?"

"Solving another mystery. Natsu and Happy say they were attacked by some sort of phantom." Lucy said.

"A phantom?!" Wilbert said as he seemed a little spooked, but he also looked like he knew about something.

"Wilbert, what is it?" Lucy questioned.

"I suppose I should have told you about this sooner, but I wasn't sure if it was true for I only heard rumors." Wilbert said. "I've read a few reports about a phantom-like figure being seen in some areas. It seemed like it was nothing but stories. If you what you say is true, maybe they're not."

"That must mean there really is a phantom." Lucy said.

"And now it's here in Magnolia." Natsu said. "What do you think this phantom even wants?"

"That's what we need to figure out." Lucy said. It's official now. They have a real mystery on their hands. Just who could this phantom be and what is it that he wants?

...

The Next Day

It was already morning and Garden Fest was underway. It was starting to draw quite a crowd. As great as Garden Fest might be, the gang was more focused on trying to solve the mystery of this mysterious phantom. At the moment, they have no clues as to what could really be going on.

"Well, Wilbert confirmed it. There really is a phantom roaming somewhere around here." Lucy said as the five of them were gathered at their van, the Myster-V, and were discussing on what they're going to do.

"But we don't know what it wants. I asked around and no one knows anything about some sort of phantom." Erza said. "It's as if this thing hasn't appeared until Natsu and Happy saw it."

"We're just going to have to keep our eyes open for anything that seems suspicious." Gray said. "Can't do much more until we find something to go on. For now, let's just try to enjoy the day." All of them thought that was a good idea and decided to just go with it. All five of them decided to hit the festival and just try to enjoy themselves. Erza and Gray went off in one direction while the others went off in another.

"I sure hope this phantom stuff doesn't ruin Garden Fest." Erza said.

"The day's early, Erza. Really no telling what might happen." Gray said as they kept their eyes open for anything.

"Gray, check it out. It's Blight." Erza said as she spotted the band enjoying the festival themselves. "Hey, guys." She said as the two of them greeted them.

"Hey. You two are from last night." White Flash said.

"Did you find your phantom yet?" Blue Thunder teased.

"Thunder, be nice." Wind Tiger said.

"Come on. They said they were looking for a phantom last night. You don't think that sounds ridiculous?" Blue Thunder said.

"You can laugh, but there really is something out there." Gray said.

"Don't you guys have a concert tonight?" Erza questioned. "Shouldn't you be getting ready for it?" She asked as she found it suspicious they're not really doing that much for their big show tonight.

"Just fueling up for tonight." White Flash said as he helped himself to some food.

"Well, there really is a phantom out there. We're going to find it and find out who it really is." Gray said.

"Sounds like it could be fun. Let us know if there's really anything we can do to help." Dragon Fire offered.

"Are you serious? You want to get involved in this nonsense?" Blue Thunder said.

"Come on. Give them a break." Dragon Fire said as he huddled with his friends. "I took a look last night and these guys are pretty famous around here for solving unusual mysteries. I have a good feeling that if we stick around these guys, it's going to be fun and exciting."

"Yeah, and that feeling comes with blonde hair." Blue Thunder said as he thinks he sees what Dragon Fire is really after.

...

Natsu and Lucy

Despite it being a mystery, Natsu and Lucy were enjoying the festival themselves as they walked arm-in-arm together. They had a look around the stands and saw what each of them had to offer.

"Look at this, Natsu. Isn't it cute?" Lucy said as she held up a necklace.

"How can anything look bad on you?" Natsu said. He even got an idea as he paid for a single flower and handed it right over to Lucy that she loved. Even when they're in the middle of solving mysteries, the two of them find ways to act like a real couple.

"Hold on. Where's Happy?" Lucy questioned.

"Happy?" Natsu said as he looked around for his little buddy. They soon spotted Happy with him carrying a tower of food and looked like he couldn't wait to devour all of it.

"Someone's sure hungry." Lucy said.

"I hope you're planning to share all of that." Natsu said. It seemed like things were going rather well and normal for the festival. That all quickly changed when a puff of smoke exploded with no warning. When the smoke cleared away, they all saw the phantom from the other day appeared right in front of everyone and gave off a wicked laugh. "That's him! That's the phantom!" Natsu called out with everyone beginning to enter a panic. Even Happy freaked with him throwing all the food in the air.

"What do we do?" Lucy questioned as the phantom moved closer to them like he was threating them. However, he didn't get the chance to do anything as all the food Happy tossed landed right on the phantom and made a real mess.

"Here's what we can do now. Run!" Natsu called as he grabbed both Lucy and Happy and ran out of there. Once the phantom cleaned himself up enough, it chased after the three of them. The phantom chased them through the festival until Lucy and the boys came across a food truck. Natsu opened up the door and the three of ducked inside it. When the phantom reached the truck, he banged against it as he wanted it to open.

"Over here!" Lucy called as she was acting like she worked there. "What will you have? Hot dogs or burgers?"

"Huh?" The phantom questioned.

"Not sure. Well, I would suggest the hot dogs because they are great." Lucy said.

"Two hot weenies in bread." Natsu said as he handed the phantom two dogs.

"Oops. It looks like we forgot the condiments. How would you like to have some ketchup and mustard?" Lucy offered. That was right when Happy showed up with the two condiments, only he squirted them right on the phantom instead of the dogs.

"How about we throw in some mayo and relish!" Natsu said as he did the same thing as happy and squirted both right against the phantom. All that really did was get the phantom mad as he growled with fury. "Sorry! We're closed now!" Natsu said as he closed up the truck to try and keep them safe from whatever the phantom might try now.

"Freeze!" The phantom looked behind him and was surrounded by police. However, all the phantom did was laugh like he was mocking them. Then, the phantom surrounded himself in smoke and completely vanished without a trace. No one knew what to do because he just disappeared into thin air and they had no way of going after him.

"He's gone." Lucy said as she and the others came out. "That was weird. Why would he appear in the middle of a public street like? What was he after?" She looked around for something and finally spotted a clue. She found a piece of paper right where the phantom disappeared. "What do we have here?"

"What is it, Lucy?" Natsu asked.

"It looks like the phantom dropped something." Lucy said. "It looks like a torn piece of paper. There's something printed on it, but I can't tell what it is." She said as the paper was blue and it looked like there was a shape of something on it. "It has the letters K and D. I wonder what those could mean."

"Hey! Are you guys okay?! We heard screaming!" Gray said as he and Erza just now showed up.

"The phantom was here, but then just disappeared." Natsu said.

"The weird thing was he didn't do much of anything." Lucy said.

"I wouldn't be so sure about that. Come look at the stage!" An innocent bystander said as it sounded like something big happened.

...

The Stage

Whatever the phantom did certainly alerted some people. Lucy's father was there, as well as Wilbert. All of them stared at the damage, but no one really seemed scared at what they saw.

"Dad!" Lucy called as she and her friends arrived and alerted him. "What happened?"

"Just look at the stage." Jude said.

"No one saw what happened, but it's rather strange." Wilbert said. The gang took a look and saw there was message in black paint covering the stage.

"If you want to see a real show, wait until tonight at Garden Fest." Erza read. "Did the phantom really do this?"

"Why would he leave a message? What's this real show that he's talking about?" Gray said.

"I don't know, but if something isn't done about whatever this is, it could be real bad for the festival." Jude said. "Maybe we should put all festival activities on hold until further notice."

"That might not work as easily as you think." Wilbert said as he pointed to people using their phones and posting the message. "This has got people curious and now they want to know about what's going to happen tonight. People are going to want to know about what might happen tonight."

"He's right. After seeing a phantom, people are going to want to know about tonight now." Lucy said.

"What could do is try to bring in extra security. Maybe could get local police to be on watch." Wilbert said. "Of course, we don't know if this is some sort of threat. We've got nothing to go on other than this message. This threat could be empty for all we know."

"Nothing to go on? Empty threat?" Natsu said as he thought that was ridiculous. "That guy tried to attack me and Happy the other day."

"And just now, we saw the phantom and it chased after us." Lucy said.

"Well, you lot are the mystery solvers. What do you think?" Wilbert asked.

"It's hard to say. We still don't know who this phantom is or what he wants." Gray said.

"But we can't cancel Garden Fest over something that could be nothing." Lucy said. "Besides... By leaving this message, we know where he's going to be if don't find anything by tonight. It will give us the chance to set a trap." That all sounded good to everyone else.

"Why would the phantom do something like this in the first place?" Gray questioned.

"I don't know, but I doubt it's good." Erza said. Word about the phantom is spreading fast and now people are starting to get curious and want to know more. Looks like the phantom is playing on their curiosity. This could be bad.
