"They are simply awesome!" Lucy shouted through the cheering.
"You can say that again!" Gray said.
"They're all right." Natsu said, but he wasn't as excited as the others.
"Admit it. You loved it." Erza said. Happy certainly did.
"Thank you! Thank you!" Dragon Fire called to the crowd. "Who is up for another song?!" Everyone cheered for one more, but that was when trouble came as all the music and lights came off. Everyone wondered what was going on until they saw the police come in on the stage.
"Nobody move! Blight, you are under arrest!" A police officer claimed as all four band members were being taken away by the authorities. Blight is being arrested? How can this be?
...
The Police Station
Seeing their friends get arrested, the gang had to do something to help them. They needed to figure out what is going on. When they arrived at the police station, they saw the four of them were already placed in a holding cell.
"Sheriff, I don't understand." Lucy said. "We know this band. They might look tough, but they're actually nice guys. Why would you arrest them, and for what?"
"Just take a look at this." The sheriff said as he showed them a video. It looked like a member of Blight was robbing and trashing a store. "He even left a calling card." He said as he showed a flyer of the band that was left at the scene of the crime. "Until we figure this out, all four of them had to be taken into custody."
"But we didn't do anything." Wind Tiger said.
"We might be rockers, but we're also respectable with other people's property." White Flash claimed.
"Well, it does look rather suspicious." Gray said.
"Maybe you guys decided to take the rocker thing to the next level." Natsu mocked.
"Natsu!" Lucy said as she didn't appreciate him saying that. "Sheriff, this has to be a mistake. First, there's only one person in that video, so you can't arrest all four of them. Second, you don't have a clear image of who the perpetrator is. It might be someone dressed like them, but that doesn't mean it's one of them."
"Well, we don't have any other leads." The sheriff said. "Unless someone bails them out, we have to hold them for questioning and try to sort this mess." Luckily for the band, money wasn't a problem. Lucy just needed her phone and made a couple calls. With her help, they were out in no time.
"Thanks for that, Lucy, but you didn't have to do it." Dragon Fire said.
"Of course I did. You guys are being wrongfully framed." Lucy said. "Not to mention that this could ruin your career."
"But we're innocent. It would have worked out." White Flash said.
"We won't be innocent once I get my hands on whoever did this to us." Blue Thunder claimed.
"Yeah... Good luck with that." Natsu said as he was just ready to leave.
"Where are you going? We've got work to do." Lucy said.
"We do?" Natsu questioned.
"Blight is obviously being framed. We need to figure out who is doing this and why." Lucy said.
"No, no. This isn't our expertise." Natsu said. "We deal with ghosts and monsters. This time it's just a normal person dressed to look like Blight."
"How is that much different from the creeps in costumes that we unmask?" Gray questioned. Natsu was stumped there.
"Sorry, Natsu. It looks like you're outvoted." Erza said. "It certainly does sound like another mystery and mysteries are our expertise." Natsu didn't like it, but it seems like they really are going to try to clear Blight's name.
"Thanks." Dragon Fire said as he placed his hand on Lucy's shoulder. "We really appreciate you guys are trying to help us out." Lucy was glad to help, but Natsu was getting annoyed again as he didn't like how close they were. He walked right over and got between them.
"Yeah. Consider yourself lucky." Natsu said. "Although, maybe a certain obnoxious bandmember really did do it."
"Hold on. Are you saying our buddy, Dragon Fire, really did do it?" Blue Thunder said as the rest of the band didn't like what Natsu was accusing.
"Natsu Dragneel!" Lucy said as she was more than displeased now. "Don't tell me after everything that you are still jealous of James?!"
"James?! Now you're calling him by his real name?!" Natsu said.
"I knew it! You are jealous!" Lucy said. "I might have teased you about it, but you think there really is something between me and him when I'm with you. Now you have the nerve to accuse him?"
"Well, it does seem like you and him get along a little too well when I'm your boyfriend." Natsu said.
"Are you saying I belong to you like a piece of property?" Lucy said. "If that's how it is, I know where I'm going. Come on, Dragon Fire." She said as she actually grabbed him by the arm like she was interested in him to punish Natsu. "It might be a good idea for the band to lay low. I'll stay with them so they have an alibi if this guy appears again. You guys go check out that crime scene. Let's go, guys." She said and practically dragged Dragon Fire with her.
"Uh... Okay..." Dragon Fire said as he and the rest of the band left. Natsu didn't even try to do anything to stop her.
"Natsu, aren't you going to do something...like apologize?" Erza said.
"What for? She's the one acting like a floozy. Ha! Floozy Lucy!" Natsu joked.
"Do you even know what that means?" Gray questioned.
"No, but it sounded good." Natsu said, but Happy just went tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk. "What?!" He said as he thought he was innocent in this.
...
The Store
The rest of the gang decided to hit the crime scene that the suspect hit. When they got there, they saw a window was smashed and the place was torn apart.
"This is it." Erza said. "Let's look around. Maybe there's something our mysterious band member left behind that the police missed."
"Those morons miss everything." Gray said as they all went on inside and looked around. They searched through the store to see if they could find anything. However, either the police cleaned the place out or the culprit didn't leave anything behind because they were coming up with nothing.
"Nothing here. Oh well. Might as well go home." Natsu said.
"Natsu Dragneel!" Erza said as she was getting annoyed now. "You're actually willing to let an innocent man go to jail just because you're jealous of Dragon Fire?!"
"I'm not jealous!" Natsu said.
"You so are!" Gray said as he sided with Erza. "Natsu, what is your problem? You know Lucy likes you, and she's not the type to dump you just because someone who seems better comes around. You were a little hard on Dragon Fire for no reason other than you're jealousy. Lucy was just teasing you at first, but now it's getting out of hand and it's really your fault."
"How is it my fault?" Natsu said.
"It's like you're not thinking about how Lucy feels. If you really care about Lucy, you should care about how she feels." Gray said. "You really think she's just going to dump you so she can date Dragon Fire? If you keep acting the way you do, all you're doing is giving her a reason as to why she should. You also have to trust her. If you don't want to lose Lucy to him, stop thinking about what just you want and think about what she might want."
"But I've been doing that. Haven't I?" Natsu said as he was starting to doubt himself.
"Not when it comes to current matters." Erza said. As the three of them were talking about this, Happy kept searching around for clues. He didn't find anything inside the store, but when he looked outside the broken window, he spotted something out there. He saw a piece of paper sticking out. Happy took a look and saw something in there, but gutter water ruined some of it. Despite that, Happy took the paper and tried to understand it, but he couldn't understand a thing on it.
"Hey. It looks like Happy has something." Gray said. All three of them came out and took the paper. "Yuck." He complained from the soaked parts being in that water. "What is this?"
"I'm not sure, but maybe we should get Lucy. Maybe she can figure it out." Erza said.
"Good idea. I don't think we can find anything else here." Gray said as the four of the jumped into the Myster-V and left the place, but they didn't notice someone in a black car was following them.
...
Lucy
"No, Thornston! We are not using this for publicity!" White Flash said over the phone. "We don't care about that! We're not going to be called criminals!" Lucy stayed with the band in case something else happened. They had a café to themselves, but Lucy was still bothered by what happened with Natsu. She just sat there and sighed since she didn't like how they left things, but she also felt Natsu took things a little too far.
"Here." Dragon Fire said as he handed her a drink. "A little nice tea might make you feel a little more relaxed."
"Thank you." Lucy said as she had some with Dragon Fire sitting with her.
"I feel like I owe you an apology for causing problems between you and your boyfriend." Dragon Fire said.
"It's not your fault. I just can't believe Natsu had the nerve." Lucy said.
"I'm not going to lie, Lucy. I do think you're something interesting, but I don't want to cause any unnecessary trouble between you and him." Dragon Fire said.
"You're a good guy, James. I just wish Natsu would see that. He doesn't seem to get how hurtful he's really being." Lucy said.
"If you ask me, he's asking to get his butt kicked." Blue Thunder said as he looked ready to do just that. "The way he came at our buddy said it all."
"Easy there, Thunder." White Flash said. "He's just jealous. We told him that there's nothing to worry about, but he just can't seem to help it."
"Jealousy can be a vicious thing. Isn't that why it's called the Green-Eyed Monster?" Wind Tiger said.
"But he's my boyfriend. Isn't that proof that I like him?" Lucy said. "The way he's acting... It's like he's saying he doesn't trust me. What's wrong with him?"
"Everyone gets a little worried or fearful that they're going to lose the person they like to someone else." Dragon Fire said. "Try to understand that it could be because Natsu cares about you so much that he's acting this way." He claimed, but that didn't really make Lucy feel any better. "Lucy, in the end, it's your choice." He said as he put his hand over hers. "If you want to be with him, be with him. If you don't want to anymore, I'm here." Lucy really appreciated it that. That made her realize that maybe she does like him, but that also had her realize that maybe Natsu does have something to worry about.
"Excuse me. Are we interrupting?" That's when they saw her friends coming in with Natsu looking mad and Dragon Fire backing off.
"Did you find something?" Lucy asked.
"We found this. We thought maybe you could make sense of it." Gray said as he handed her the paper. Despite being disgusted by it, she still took a look at it.
"I might need a computer for this." Lucy said. Luckily, they were in an internet café. She went over to one of the computers and tried to find answers. What no one saw was that a mysterious figure was standing close by her.
"So, what were you doing with my girlfriend just now?" Natsu said as he looked ready to rumble with Dragon Fire.
"Keep up that attitude and she might not be your girlfriend much longer." Dragon Fire claimed, but Natsu was getting furious. "Look, I'm not trying to cause trouble for you and her, but she is getting fed up with the attitude."
"Natsu, remember what we said. You're giving Lucy a reason to go out with him." Gray said.
"Well, it's not looking good for you. We don't have any proof that clears your name." Natsu said as he accused Dragon Fire again.
"Hold on. How do you know it wasn't one of us and he's innocent?" Wind Tiger said.
"Yeah, Pinky. You better back off or else." Blue Thunder said. As the two groups were debating about this, Lucy continued her search and inputted enough information to find some answers.
"Got it! This is paperwork for a train, but what for?" Lucy questioned, but she didn't get the chance to tell anyone as someone grabbed her. No one noticed what happened to her, but when Happy took a look in Lucy's direction, he saw he was gone. Knowing this was bad, Happy went searching for her. Lucy was actually being taken outside.
"Let go of me, you creep!" Lucy said.
"Pretty smart that you figured that out, but I can't have you blab." Her captor said as she tossed her into the back of his car. She got a good look at him looking like a member of Blight with a leather outfit and black wig with a small tail in the back. He also had white face paint with a black star over it. "I can't have you telling about the train. Since my plan to frame Blight didn't quite work, I got to go with my other plans."
"Who are you?" Lucy questioned.
"The name's Dark Light, the darkest member of Blight." He said before he closed the trunk on her. After that, he took her away with Happy seeing what happened. When Happy saw that, he hurried back inside to alert the others. Natsu was still going at Dragon Fire with accusations, but that was when Happy came running in with him in a panic and alerted the others.
"Happy? What is it?" Natsu asked. Happy tried to tell him what he saw. "What?! Lucy's been taken by a creep dressed like the members of Blight and he calls himself Dark Light?!"
"How does he know what that cat is saying?" Wind Tiger whispered.
"Dark Light? Does that name mean anything to any of you?" Gray asked.
"Never heard of him." Dragon Fire said.
"Happy also says they mentioned something about a train." Natsu said.
"A train? Wait a minute!" Blue Thunder said as he and the rest of Blight realized something.
"What is it?" Erza questioned.
"Some merchandise we have for our fans are being brought in by train." Dragon Fire said. "It should be arriving tonight."
"This Dark Light sounds like he has it in for you guys. He must have been the one that robbed that store and framed you guys." Erza said. "If that's the case, he might be planning to do something to that train."
"And he's got Lucy!" Natsu said as he blamed himself. If he wasn't so focused on arguing with Dragon Fire, he could have helped Lucy. "We got a train to catch!"
...
The Train
The train that was bringing in some Blight merchandise was on it's way to town. There was at least one train cart filled with that sort of stuff. As the train was making its way on the tracks, the gang and Blight all hopped in the Myster-V and tried to keep up with the train.
"There's the train!" White Flash said.
"But how are we going to get onboard while it's still moving?!" Natsu said.
"This is going to require just the right touch. Hold on, buckle up, and whatever else you have to do so you don't get hurt!" Gray said as he already had an idea as he could see an open spot on the train.
"Hang on! You're not going to do what I think you're doing, are you?!" Wind Tiger said, but Gray was doing it. Gray steered the van right off the cliff and was aiming right for the spot. To the surprise of everyone, Gray was actually able to have his van stick the landing.
"You guys are crazy! I love it!" Blue Thunder said.
"Come on! We've got to find Lucy!" Natsu said as they all loaded out of the van and tried to get inside the train. They tried to make their way through until they reached the train cart that had the Blight merchandise in it. When they reached that cart, they spotted Lucy tied up.
"Lucy!" Gray called as all of them hurried over to her and untied her.
"Are you okay?!" Erza said.
"Yeah, but this creep named Dark Light is crazy." Lucy said. "He's planning to crash the train and destroy all of this stuff in here. He wants to try and ruin Blight."
"He's got to be in the conductor's cabin. Let's get him!" Gray said. All of them moved as fast as they could to the front of the train to try and stop Dark Light before the train crashed. They soon arrived at the front and slid the door open, but there was no sign of anyone around.
"Where is he?" Wind Tiger questioned.
"What did he do with the rest of the crew?" Blue Thunder said.
"Keep your guard up. He's got to be around here somewhere." Erza said. All of them looked around for where Dark Light could be, but Natsu heard something from behind. He turned around and saw someone moving around. When he went to check it out, he saw Dark Light climbing up the ladder and went up the train. He also saw this as an opportunity.
"Sorry, Dragon Fire." Natsu said as he closed the door on the others. "This one is mine." He was daring enough to go after Dark Light in some attempt to impress Lucy. He climbed his way up to the train and soon saw Dark Light trying to run to the back of the train. Natsu chased after him and tackled him to hold him down.
"Big mistake!" Dark Light said as he kicked Natsu right in the face and knocked him back. Natsu tried to get back up, but Dark Blight hit him right in the face. He didn't stop there as he lifted Natsu up and tried to throw him off. Natsu acted quickly as he grabbed the ledge and was holding on for dear life. "I believe this is your stop." He was about to stomp down him and cause Natsu to fall, but Natsu was saved as Dragon Fire tackled Dark Light.
"I've heard of craze fans, but this is ridiculous." Dragon Fire said as he tried to hold him down.
"I'm not a fan!" Dark Light said as he hit Dragon Fire and knocked him off. The two of them wrestled with each other until Dark Light threw him down. However, Natsu came in and put Dark Light in a headlock and tried to hold him. However, Dark Light stomped down on Natsu's foot and knocked him down. Dark Light was going to attack Natsu some more, but Dragon Fire pull Dark Light towards him and knocked him out with a clean punch to the face. That wasn't all that was done. Erza managed to find the brakes for the train and pressed down on it with the train starting to slow down.
...
Later
The other managed to successfully stop the train and now they've cleared Blight's name by catching Dark Light. They had him restrained now thanks to the police, but they still needed to get some answers.
"Now, let's see who has really been causing all this trouble." Lucy said.
"No problem with a little make-up remover." Erza said. She took some of it and cleaned up Dark Light's face and removed his wig to show a regular guy with brown hair.
"Nobody we know?!" The gang said.
"Keith Baxter?!" Blight said.
"You know him?" Gray said.
"All of us went to the same school." Wind Tiger said.
"He was our school's star quarterback." White flash said.
"I don't get it. Why did you do this, Keith?" Dragon Fire asked.
"Because I couldn't take it anymore!" Keith said. "You guys think you're so cool ever since you started your little band. You're the talk of the town back home. I used to be in the spotlight, the main attraction, all the girls loved me, but that all went away ever since you guys started to make a name for yourself."
"So you wanted to ruin Blight's good name." Erza said. "You framed them for robbery and tried to ruin their merchandise in a crazy attempt to have this train crash."
"You were...jealous!" Natsu said as this made him realize something.
"Maybe I was, and I would have gotten away with it if these meddling fans of yours had taste." Keith said before the police took him away.
"Well, I guess that's done." Natsu said as he now had to make things right. "Lucy, I'm sorry about before. You were right. I was jealous of how close you and Dragon Fire were. I don't blame you if you want to dump me now. If you want to be with him, go ahead. I'm not going to stop you." He said as he turned away with it looking like he's admitting defeat with Lucy starting to feel sympathy for Natsu now.
"Hey." Dragon Fire said and had her attention now. "Thanks again for helping us. You wouldn't want to grab a meal or something so I can show some appreciation, would you?" Lucy might have been upset with Natsu earlier, but she's had a change of heart.
"No thanks, James." Lucy said. "I know who I'm meant to be with. I'll admit that I might have liked you, but my heart belong with Natsu." She said as she made her choice clear now. That's why she walked over and kissed him right on the face to prove it.
"Yes! In your face, Dragon Fire, James, or whatever your name is!" Natsu cheered. "She digs me. She digs ME! She digs me!"
