Magnolia has had plenty share of excitement, especially of the supernatural kind. Many figures, ghosts, ghouls, and monsters have been around. In the end, they've all been unmasked by one group and revealed to be nothing more than criminals wearing costumes and masks for some reason. The ones responsible for unmasking them has made a real name for themselves and have become quite famous that something is behind held in their honor.
"Jacob Howl here, coming to you live at Magnolia's Museum of National History. Tonight is a big moment." A reporter with styled black hair said as he was doing a report right at the museum where there was a crowd. "This museum has been known to honor moments in history, but what makes this even so special is that the heroes it's honoring heroes that are alive today! A small organization of detectives that have solved mysteries that no one else could have before...and they're just four young high school students...and their cat."
"Here they come!" Someone shouted as they could see the Myster-V pulling up to the museum.
"They are arriving on the scene! Could be a chance to get an exclusive." Jacob said. It's all true. The gang has made quite a name for themselves. Before, they were given their own display in the museum that had the costumes of the villains they have unmasked. Now that they have solved even more mysteries, their display is actually expanding. Since these are heroes and people that are alive today, the whole thing is like a movie premiere. Once they pulled up to the red carpet, all five fo them climbed out of the van with them dressed all fancy.
"Hello, Magnolia!" Natsu called out to the people with everyone loving it. Everyone was treating them like they were celebrities because they were considered heroes in Magnolia.
"Gray! Gray! Over here!" A bunch of girls were calling out for him. Being a handsome guy, it's not hard to imagine the girls would love him. "Please, can I have your autograph?"
"I normally say no, but what the heck?" Gray said as he was actually a nice guy and gave one of the girls and autograph. She felt like she was on Cloud 9, but the girls quickly started to fight over it.
"Can you believe this has happened to us?" Lucy said.
"A little. Lucy, we've earned it." Erza said as she shook hands.
"Erza Scarlet, I heard this was your favorite! In your honor!" A baker said as he handed her strawberry cake with her face on it.
"I love it." Erza said as she felt like she was looking at a thing of beauty with her gladly taking the cake.
"I have a feeling it's going to be a crazy night." Lucy said.
"Lucy! Lucy! We love!" Two guys called out.
"Look! We even have your face tattooed on our chests!" They both ripped opened their shirts and showed they had exactly that.
"How...sweet." Lucy said as she wasn't sure what else that's nice to say about something disturbing. Luckily, Natsu came and got his arm around his girlfriend.
"Keep in mind that I'm her boyfriend." Natsu said as he walked with her. "Not a bad idea."
"If you do something like that, I will kill you." Lucy said. Even Happy was enjoying this as he pranced around.
"Over here!" Jacob called as he tried to get an interview. "Jacob Howl of Channel Six News. I was wondering if I could have a word with the young and aspiring mystery solvers. For starters, why is it you don't seem to have an official name for your group?"
"Oh... I suppose it's because we never really thought of a name." Gray said. "Most of the time we don't even go looking for mysteries, they find us."
"We are just glad to help in anyway we can." Erza said. "We don't really do this for business purposes. Rather, we all enjoy a good mystery and do what we can to help people."
"Sounds like all of you are really something special." Jacob said. "Your latest solved mysteries are being added to the museum. I swear that they are running out of room for this place. Keep this up and the museum will be known just for what all of you have done."
"We're just doing what we can to help those who need it." Lucy said.
"Come inside with us, Jacob. We'll show you around and tell us about some of our latest mysteries." Gray invited as all of them moved on inside the museum with others following. Everyone moved inside to the exhibit that had all the costumes of the villains they have unmasked. "Our first mystery took place at our own high school with this specter." He said as he showed the costume of the specter from their first mystery.
"Would you believe that a teacher from our own school was behind this, and that he just wanted a piece of pottery that was once owned by the town's founder?" Erza said with a little humor.
"And we have solved other mysteries that many thought were cold. Such as the Fiend Hatter." Lucy said as she showed him. "He was really Jose Porla when many believed he was dead."
"And of course, we've had a few ridiculous cases. An example of that was one of our latest cases was about a living dummy that was actually a monkey." Erza said. "Of course, I find anyone using an adorable animal for such crimes to be quite despicable."
"Very fascinating." Jacob said. "It also seems like those two are enjoying the food." All of them looked and saw Natsu and Happy were helping themselves to the food that came with the place.
"These fancy parties always seem boring, but the food is incredible." Natsu said as Happy certainly agreed.
"Hey, you two. Come here." Lucy said as she linked her arm with Natsu's.
"Oh, sorry. Did you want some?" Natsu asked.
"Not that. It's just that this is a big night for our gang and we want to look professional." Lucy said. "As much as I love the both of you, please try to act mature for this night."
"Actually, I do have a few questions for you, Natsu." Jacob said.
"Sure. What do you want to know?" Natsu said.
"What's it like working for a mystery group while you're being the mascot's caretaker and the others do all the real work?" Jacob asked.
"Excuse me?" Natsu said as he didn't like how that sounded. Happy also didn't like being called a mascot either. "First, Happy has been my little buddy even before we formed this team. Second, Happy's not the mascot and I do more than just take care of him."
"Oh! That's right, I'm sorry! You two are also the ones always used as bait." Jacob said.
"Hold on. We don't always use them as bait." Lucy said.
"Really? That's not what I heard. After all, aren't the other three the ones who always solve the case and get the bad guys?" Jacob said.
"I do that too." Natsu said.
"Yeah. Natsu was the one who figured out who was really being our case starring the monster known as The Fiend." Lucy said.
"So, in all the cases you and your friends have worked on, you only solved one yourself?" Jacob said with Natsu and Happy not liking what this guy was saying at all.
"I think we're done here." Lucy said as she saved her boyfriend and Happy and got them away from that reporter. "Don't listen to him. He doesn't know what he's talking about."
"Thanks." Natsu said, but he and Happy don't really feel that much better since there was some truth into what Jacob said.
"Hey, you guys are important to the team. Isn't that right, Erza?" Gray said, but Erza was rather quiet. "Erza?" All of them looked at Erza and saw she was gawking at something...or rather someone. Coming their way was a dashing young man with blue hair and had a face tattoo, but he made it work. You could practically hear "As Long As You Love Me" from the Backstreet Boys playing.
"Hi." He said as he came over. "It's a pleasure to finally get to meet all of you. I'm Jellal Fernandez." He said as he shook each one of their hands.
"Fernandez... Wait a minute. You're him!" Lucy said with excitement. "It was you that helped put all of this together! You're the reason we have a display, this whole exhibit, in the museum in the first place!"
"Say what?!" Natsu said as they were all surprised by this.
"I am. I'm really glad I get to meet all of you." Jellal said with his eyes landing on Erza. "Really glad."
"Thank you." Erza said as she wasn't sure what was going on with her. All she knew was that she liked being near this guy.
"Hold on. That look... Does Erza like him?" Gray whispered.
"Can't tell. The only thing I've seen Erza look at with such love is strawberry cake." Natsu said.
"I greatly admire what you guys do. When I was a child, I always had a thing for the supernatural." Jellal said. "Getting you all this was good, but considering how often you guys have mysteries, I'm working on something bigger. I've been thinking of a brand new museum of supernatural activity, and I would love to have you guys become a part of it."
"Jellal, that sounds amazing." Lucy said, but then noticed something and decided to be a good friend. "Erza, why don't you take Jellal around and tell him about all the mysteries we have solved."
"What?" Erza said as she was starting to feel nervous.
"I actually would love to hear about it." Jellal said as he offered her an arm. Erza took it and walked off with him and the others were quite pleased with Erza. "How many mysteries have you solved?"
"No idea. We don't keep track." Erza said.
"It is rather impressive that you and your friends have had such adventures and was able to solve all of this." Jellal said.
"Thank you. So, which mystery would you like to hear about?" Erza questioned.
"How about we start with this robot?" Jellal said as he went to one of the costumes. The robot was all dark metal with red lenses and the top of it's head looked like the helmet of a soldier. "I don't remember hearing about this case of yours."
"That's because this isn't one of ours." Erza said as she had no idea what this robot was. Both of them tried to get a better look as to what that robot was...until they saw it moving on its own. Erza screamed and alerted everyone about this robot. Everyone was freaked to see it moving on it's own.
"What the heck?!" Gray said as they were all surprised by something like this. The robot just started to trash everything on it's own. "Natsu and Happy, grab the ropes hanging from the curtain and tie that thing up!"
"Got it!" Natsu said as he grabbed the rope. He and Happy moved as fast as they could with the rope and tried to tied it around the robot. It looked like they had it tied up good "We got him!" He said as he and Happy dropped the rope, but the rope really just fell right off because there was no knot or anything. "Oops." The robot grabbed a hold of both of them and looked like it was going to hurt the both of them.
"Hang on!" Erza said as she acted quickly and took the mace from the Dark Knight and smashed it against robot's head and knocked it off for everyone to see it was a real robot. With its head knocked off, it dropped Natsu and Happy with the body collapsing. "Where did this thing come from?"
"Interesting..." Lucy said as she got a good look at it. "Quite a piece of machinery. I wonder who made it." It seemed like another mystery opened up right in their own backyard, but there was no time for searching. The horror didn't stop as more robots came marching right in and were attacking people. Luckily, they had no weapons, but they were still causing trouble. It was like an army marching right into the grand opening. It was a grand opening of their own...a grand opening of some sort of robotic army that has come to invade Magnolia.
"What is this?!" Jellal said as none of them liked this.
"Citizens of Magnolia!" All of them looked up and they could all see another robot, but it was designed like a general in a beige outfit. "This is only the beginning of what is to come! My forces cannot be stopped! As for you, you young mystery solvers, you will be the ones that will be unmasked as the frauds and failures that you really are!" Just then, the lights overloaded and exploded with sparks falling and everything going dark. The Robotic General took his leave and had the whole place left in chaos as his robotic soldiers continued to cause some havoc to the people, marking this as only the beginning of whatever is to come. Whoever this Robot General is, he's not fooling around and he's called out the gang for calling them fakes. It would seem that the gang has found themselves in what could possibly be another dangerous mystery.
