In what was suppose to be a grand party, it quickly turned into something disastrous. A squad of robots that were being run by something like a Robot General attacked the exhibit and caused quite a commotion. The robots didn't hurt anyone, but their attack was meant as a message. Whoever is behind this is showing that he's not playing around.

"What a mess." Gray said as they had a look around. Erza was rather worried about Jellal since it was him who made this, but now it's a mess.

"Jellal...? Are you okay?" Erza asked.

"I'm fine. Nothing appears to be stolen and these things can easily be fixed." Jellal said, but Erza had a feeling this was tougher for him than he was saying. As for Lucy, Natsu, and Happy; they had a look at the only robot that they managed to take down.

"You see anything?" Natsu said.

"It does look like quite a piece of machinery." Lucy said as she examined what she could. "Of course, I don't have the equipment I need to give it a proper look at. Sounds like we got quite a mystery this time."

"Excuse me!" All of them looked to see Jacob and other reporters were coming back. "Can we get a few words about what happened here?"

"Why do I have a bad feeling about this?" Gray said as he just knows the reporters are going to turn it into something ugly.

...

Lucy's House

"After the attack at the Museum of National History, the young mystery solvers tried to handle the situation, but it would seem that it did not go so well." Jacob said as he reported on the news and it didn't go well for the gang. "The young heroes tried to handle the situation." He said as he showed footage of Natsu and Happy failing to tie the robot down. "To be fair, perhaps we have misjudged these young mystery solvers since they are not professionals and don't even have their own name."

"What?! That's what we were saying last night! That's out of context!" Gray said.

"And it seems they're not above using violent approaches in their plans. Given how they didn't suspect the assailant was a person in costume as it usually seems to be, they seem to act recklessly." Jacob reported as he showed Erza knocking the head off, but making it look like it was reckless. What if there was an actual person in there?

"Hey! I had to help my friends!" Erza said.

"Although, the most incompetent of the group appeared to have been Natsu Dragneel and his pet cat." Jacob reported. "They allowed themselves to get captured and needed to be saved, while also foiling their own team's plan. With all that has happened, is it possible the statement of one those robots was right? Have we misjudged these young detectives and they are just pretending." Not wanting to hear anymore, Gray turned off the television. Natsu and Happy were in the next room and felt rather guilty, and what they heard next didn't help.

"It's my fault." Gray said. "I told Natsu and Happy to grab the ropes. I should have had some sort of back-up plan."

"It's my fault, too. I should have helped them out." Erza.

"You're not really blaming Natsu and Happy for this, are you?" Lucy questioned.

"No. I know they both did their best. It's just that this was a big night for us and it just went all kinds of bad." Gray said.

"Which is probably what whoever is really behind this really wanted." Lucy said. "I managed to get that robot and some of it's parts. Let's take a look, figure out who is behind this, and show that we're no screw-ups." Erza and Gray liked the sound of that and got straight to work, but Natsu and Happy were starting to have doubts about themselves now.

"We're screw-ups." Natsu said with Happy feeling the same. "That reporter was right. Even my twisted half-brother said that before, so maybe it's true. Think about it, Happy. What do we really bring to the team? The others always find the answers, but we're just used as bait for the traps, and we can barely do that right. Every time we try, something just goes wrong. Even when do act as bait right, we just follow their plans. We never did anything ourselves." Natsu and Happy were starting to feel down on themselves, like they were the weakest links of the team. "Last night we looked like total morons, and the others are the ones paying for it." Natsu hated that his friends are hurting because of him and he cant' let this go on. They're the first real friends Natsu made and he doesn't want to let them down.

"Natsu? Happy? Are you two coming? We've got work to do." Lucy called.

"Be right there!" Natsu called and let Lucy go. "Happy, this can't go on anymore! We've got to prove we deserve to be part of this team! We need to act more like detectives! It's time for us to get serious!" Happy was thinking the same way and showed he was getting serious as he was moving like a boxer and was acting like he was ready for a fight. Meanwhile, the others took a look at the robot and tried to learn more about it.

"What are you getting from it, Lucy?" Gray asked.

"Interesting... The outside is comprised of iron, but I'm seeing traces of lithium through some of the inner parts." Lucy said. "The iron makes it tough, but the lithium helps this thing run efficiently...and for quite a long time. I wonder who made something like this."

"The Robot General was calling the shots, but he certainly called us out." Erza said. "Is it possible that someone we put away once before is behind this?"

"Erza could be right!" Natsu said as he and Happy joined in and Natsu got to work on a computer.

"Nice of you two to finally join us." Gray said. "What are you doing?"

"Trying to bring up all our old cases and trying to find a culprit." Natsu said. "We're trying to get all our notes together. Right, Happy?" He said as Happy was actually taking notes. "So, Erza thinks someone from the past is behind this."

"Yeah..." Lucy said as she thought they were being a little weird. "Revenge sounds like a good motive, but I can't think of anyone we put away that's capable of building something like this."

"Well, how about we pay them a visit." Natsu said.

"What are you talking about?" Gray questioned.

"Some of the big bad guys are still locked up, some of them in the same prison." Natsu said as he showed the website of the prison where some of the bad guys they put away have been sent to. "What do you guys say we go and interrogate some of them."

"What are you? Nuts?" Gray said. "We're not the police? We can't pull something like that off, and it be a big waste of time to sort through all of that. Not to mention that place is filled with people who hate us."

"Yeah, not really a good idea, Natsu." Erza said.

"There is one thing that we can do." Lucy said. "There must be tons of robots like this one. To build something like this, one would need a large source of lithium."

"Find where the lithium is coming from, we might find another clue." Gray said.

"Yeah... Great..." Natsu said as he tried acting like a detective and it just blew up in his face.

"Lucy, do you think you can find the source?" Erza questioned.

"Maybe, but it might take a while." Lucy said.

"Uh... Anything me or Happy can do?" Natsu asked.

"Not right now. I just need some time." Lucy said.

"Right." Natsu said as he and Happy just walked out of there feeling a little disappointed that they didn't really do anything. "Well, this might be harder than I thought. We need a way to show that we can be detectives." Happy agreed, but what can they really do. "You know what, I say we do it, Happy. I say we head on over to that prison ourselves and try to find some answers." Happy was having second-thoughts about that since it is filled with people that do hate them. "I know it might sound crazy, but we need to act like detectives and detectives go undercover." He might be right, but Happy was thinking they should tell the others. "No way. They already said they're against the idea. I say we go now." He grabbed a hold of Happy and was going off on their own. Meanwhile, Erza was debating on what to do with her phone.

"Who are you thinking of calling?" Gray asked.

"Uh... No one..." Erza said.

"That was a complete lie. You're a bad liar, and always were a bad actress." Gray teased. "Are you thinking of calling that Jellal guy or something?"

"What if I am?" Erza said.

"You didn't exactly act like yourself. Erza, do you actually have a crush on someone?" Gray questioned as he almost couldn't believe it. "I don't think I've ever seen you crush on someone."

"You've never seen me actually crush a guy before. You want to be the first one?" Erza threatened as she was easily getting annoyed. Seeing how scary Erza can get when she's mad, Gray easily backed off.

"Lucy, any luck yet?" Gray asked as he was afraid on what Erza might do.

"You are on your own. You put your own foot in your mouth, started digging your own grave." Lucy said.

"Excuse me, Miss Lucy! I'm sorry to bother you, but someone is here to see you and your friends." One of her family servants said.

"Who?" Lucy asked.

"That would be me." The visitor said and revealed to be Jellal.

"Jellal?!" Lucy said as they weren't expecting him and Erza starting to get nervous. "What are you doing here?"

"I saw what that lousy reporter said on the news. I wanted to make sure you guys were okay from it." Jellal said. "None of what happened was your fault. You guys did your best."

"Thanks, but it's going to take more than a bad review to get us down." Gray said.

"But people are already talking. They're starting to doubt your abilities." Jellal said.

"What? Unbelievable." Lucy said. "After all the work we've done, one thing went bad and they start to doubt us?"

"That's because people like to see results, and the longer this goes on, but the worst it might get for you guys." Jellal said. "Well, I know I'm not a great detective like you guys, but I'm hoping I can help somehow."

"Uh... Thanks... I... We could use... Excuse me." Erza said as she seemed so nervous that she actually got out there. That wasn't like her.

"Gray, could you keep Jellal company. I'll talk to Erza." Lucy said as she went after her. Erza went into a separate room and trying to calm herself down, but Lucy chased after her. "You want to talk about what's going on?"

"How's my hair? Do I look nice? Maybe I should hurry home and change." Erza said.

"Erza Scarlet! I can't believe you're nervous about a guy!" Lucy said as she was founding this delightful.

"I know!" Erza said. "This is so unlike me, but I don't know what's happening to me! It was like the moment my eyes landed on him, something in me completely clicked!"

"Oh my gosh! Love at first sight!" Lucy said as she was loving this. "You have nothing to worry about because it's obvious he likes you!"

"You think?" Erza questioned.

"Of course! I saw it from the way he looked at you, and he does love what we do!" Lucy said. "Hello! He's here! Erza, this works perfectly for you!"

"I'm not sure what to think. Something like this has never happened to me before." Erza said. This was all new to her and Lucy loved this. Erza appears to be experiencing something like love for the first time.

"Hey! Have you guys seen Natsu and Happy?" Gray said as he and Jellal came by.

"They're not here?" Lucy said.

"No! They just ditched us!" Gray said.

"We better go find them before they get themselves into some trouble." Erza said as they just knew something bad was going to happen.

...

Natsu and Happy

Natsu went through with this crazy plan of his. He and Happy arrived at the prison and planned to "interrogate" some of their past villains to see if any of them really has something to do with this.

"We might have came in as visitors, but at least we're in." Natsu said as he and Happy had a look around the prison. They walked through and soon could see some of the prisoners through windows. "Oh boy... All of them gathered in one place..." He said as he hasn't seen these people in a long time, and yet there they are. "I see Erigor, the Reaper's Ghost. Over there is Jose, the Fiend Hatter, and his son, who was once Shadow Boy. The others were right, these people hate us." Happy was starting to get a little anxious being in a place filled with people that hate them. "Let's do it." Both he and Happy toughened themselves up and decided to get to work. This could go badly.
