AN: We're close to leaving Patch. Sure, I could have written up some random encounters outside of Patch, but I want there to be reasons for those encounters, you know, to contribute to the plot or something.

AN2: Also, if you want me to write funny moments at the end of the chapter, something like RWBY Chibi, then say so. I'll probably write them at the bottom of some chapters, not every chapter though. If I have the energy to spare.

Enjoy the chapter!

Adam had always been free and bound to none, he still is, it's just that he had to wear clothing. He wasn't fond of the idea like he wasn't fond of the idea of using a weapon to fight his opponents. He preferred using his bare fists like he preferred being bare naked.

It was new to Adam. It felt restrictive. And he missed the feeling of wind washing over his bare skin. He would never understand why his children would ever wear clothing. But he would admit that the amount of effort his children had put into producing clothing made him proud to see how far his children had gone.

Adam tried to understand why they wanted him to wear clothing. Something about indecent exposure and going to prison. Adam never knew his children felt embarrassed about showing their bodies. Their being which made them who they are.

Do they not like the idea of expressing themselves for who they are?

It seemed so because Qrow and Tai were insistent on him wearing clothing, so he had to bear with it for now.

"Christ, Tai, why'd you give Adam your beach shorts," Qrow said. Adam was indeed wearing beach shorts. It was white and it had decals of colorful flowers scattered all over.

Adam also wore a T-shirt. It was white and had the same colorful flowers as the beach shorts, but it made him uncomfortable. It took him a couple of minutes to learn how to put them on, but Tai ended up helping him. Then when he finally got it in place, it slipped off. So, Tai had to tighten the strings and make a knot.

But the beach shorts tightly squeezed on his waist, which he found very uncomfortable.

"You didn't spare him on the t-shirt either…" Qrow said with pity.

Tai dismissed Qrow's complaint, "Relax, I just loaded the washing machine with my dirty clothing, should take ten or twenty minutes for it to wash and then another thirty minutes in the drier," Tai explained.

"But, for now, he has to wear my cool beach outfit," Tai said with a smirk before sitting on the couch.

"I swear, Tai, your 'cool' is my 'atrocious.'" Qrow sighed before looking toward Adam, "Sorry about this, you're not bothered wearing that for a little while, right?" Qrow asked Adam.

"It's fine," Adam said.

Adam lowered his head, staring down at the clothing he wore. He found the colorful flowers lovely... Maybe it was too colorful.

"I like the flowers," Adam said without much enthusiasm, but he genuinely did like the clothing, well, the flowers to be specific. He didn't like how the beach shorts were squeezing at his waist and how loose the t-shirt was, which he might as well not wear the t-shirt.

Tap, Tap, Tap.

Ruby came walking down the stairs, which caught the attention of all three of them.

"Morning, sweety." Tai said with a loving smile.

Tai stood up from the couch, heading towards Ruby. Once she finally made it down the stairs, Tai hugged her.

"Did you sleep well?" Tai asked.

"Yeah," Ruby paused, "I guess."

Tai sent a worried look to Qrow, then returned his gaze to Ruby, "You look a little tired, how about some breakfast to wake you up?" Tai suggested.

Ruby yawned as she rubbed her eyes with her arm, "Yeah, anything but Pumpkin Pete's, it makes my stomach upset."

Tai ruffled Ruby's hair, "Yeah, I'll cook up some eggs and bacon. For now, have a seat on the couch and I'll call you later when it's ready, alright?"

Ruby replied with a faint nod before resting on the couch.

Qrow opened his flask and tried to take a swig before realizing he was out, "Darn, I forgot I finished the damn thing last night." Qrow was about to head inside the kitchen to ask Tai where he stored his alcohol but received a text from a certain someone he knew that stated it was urgent and needed his presence.

Qrow mumbled in annoyance, "Hey, Adam, I need you to watch over my nieces while I'm out. Important business just came up."

All Qrow received was a nod. Qrow wasn't bothered by it. It was just how Adam was. Well, it was that, or Adam was deep in thought. You can always tell by the look in his eyes. There was a sense of longing in them.

"One more thing, can you check up on Yang for me, me and Tai cleaned up the blood, thorns, splinters… and checked to see if she had any more bruises or anything that was swelling, but everything seemed alright, no broken bones or anything left lodged inside her. Disinfected the wounds too. Just make sure she's not rolling back n' forth in pain while Tai cooks food for Ruby."

Adam nodded, "I'll make sure she won't suffer anymore."

"Um, right, you do that," Qrow said before heading out the front door and closing it behind him.

Yang was fine. Well, 'fine' was a stretch. She was barely standing, her blood traveling down her body.

She wanted to make sure they made it somewhere safe, she and her sister. Then that was when Uncle Qrow came to bring them back home. She felt relieved. But maybe she shouldn't have let go of that feeling, the feeling of being in danger, being scared. Even when she didn't put it out on display, it lingered in her heart.

Yet, it was because of those intense emotions that she was able to keep going. And, the moment she let go of her fears, the moment she felt like she was in safe hands, her consciousness faded.

It felt like someone turned off the lights. It was dark and she couldn't see anything.

At first, she wasn't scared of the dark like Ruby. Yang didn't mind at all, but after what she experienced in the forest, in the dead of night, she started having second thoughts about what was lurking inside the dark.

The darkness consuming her vision reminded her of grimm, their pitch black skin, their red glowing eyes that yearned for her. Every time she looked into their eyes, it brought fear from the depths of her soul. It was like they were already planning what limb they would eat off her body and what bone they would chew on once they finished lapping up every bit of flesh off her bones.

But what made her more scared was being unable to see them.

And only their growls reminded her of their presence, it made her restless. She couldn't rely on anyone, not her mother because she was gone, how could her mom protect her if she was dead? And there was her father who was lost in his mourning. He didn't even know Ruby was gone until she told him. He was unable to notice his surroundings and his lost daughters.

So, she ran.

She ran away from the grimm, ran away from her family, ran away from her fears, and left everything she loved behind…

But it felt like she forgot something… someone behind.

She looked back. She could see Ruby running towards her, her hand stretched out, trying to reach her. Behind Ruby was the same pack of beowolves that chased them. She thought they were dead.

But Yang still reached out to her sister, Ruby. She needed Ruby to keep herself together.

Then, It was all gone in a blink of an eye. Her sister was eaten by a grimm ten times bigger than a normal beowolf. And it had thousands of sharp teeth covering the insides of its mouth. It had a big toothy grin, letting out an audible gulp... it was making fun of her. Making fun of her despair.

Yang watched blood pour out between its teeth. It was silent, blood dripping from its maw. It reminded her when she left the sink faucet barely on.

Drip, drip, drop. But it wasn't water, but blood.

Then it dropped something.

It dropped a piece of her sister.

It was Ruby's arm, all that was left, lying flat on the ground in front of her. Yang's legs gave out as her pupils dilated. She crawled to what was left of her sister, hugging the arm that belonged to her sister she had selfishly left Ruby behind for a better life.

If only she was stronger. Then, maybe, she could've helped her mom. If she was strong, she could've prevented her from dying. Prevented Ruby from dying.

But... She wasn't strong, and It was her turn. The giant beowolf slowly crept closer and closer. She didn't need to run, she didn't need to be scared, and she didn't need to fight.

For the only reason she did, her sister, Ruby, was gone.

Yang felt like she could let it all go. All the misfortune her family experienced after her mom's death. The days she had cried herself to sleep. The days she had watched over Ruby like her mom. The times when she and Ruby would play tag, running around the house. The loving memories of her family.

She would miss all those memories she'd created.

Then again, at least she would see her mom once she had passed over.

Yang closed her eyes as she held in her tears. If she was going to die then she would without crying. She sat, prepared to feel pain and relief in a moment, but it never came.

She should be dead about now, the grimm should've eaten her about now, maybe it wanted her to watch as she gets crushed and munched into pieces. As much as she hated the thought, she was curious why she wasn't dead yet, so, she opened her eyes.

And before Yang stood her Mom. Before the grimm could enjoy a free meal, her Mom saved her from having the same fate as her sister, Ruby.

Her mom turned around, smiling brightly at Yang.

Yang's eyes began to tear up. Her mouth began to quiver which prevented her from saying anything. She couldn't tell her Mom how much she missed her. She couldn't yell at her Mom why she hadn't saved the day a little earlier, but what stopped her from telling off her Mom was because her Mom reminded her of Ruby.

That's when she knew it was a dream.

And Everything disappeared, leaving only her in a pitch-black void.

However, no matter how much she told herself that it was a dream, It still hurt. It was her mind telling her that her actions could've led to an outcome of her sister's death, but she pushed that thought down in the depths of her mind.

Because it didn't happen, it just didn't. Yang refused to believe it. She remembered... She remembered they were saved by that man.

"Don't cry…"

A soft and gentle hand wrapped around her hand. Rubbing her palm, comforting her.

A soothing feeling seeped into her hand, coursing through her body and heart. If she had to describe it, it felt like getting out of a hot tub and the moment you stepped out, it felt like it was freezing, so you'd usually go back in.

It was once cold a moment ago, but now she felt oddly warm and free. It made her wonder if she didn't care about the deaths of her mom or sister, if so, it made her feel guilty. But something was telling her that she still had those horrible emotions, somewhere in her heart. But she wasn't feeling those awful heartaches anymore.

So what happened?

She tried to find out who it was. She knew it was a man by the pitch of his voice, but her tears kept blurring her vision even when she tried wiping them away.

She gave up as soon as the man embraced her in his arms, it felt like he was coddling her which annoyed her a bit. And It was sudden. She would've hated it and pushed him away, but she didn't.

She was strong, and she wouldn't rely on others... But it was because of her sister that she was strong.

Was there a reason to continue being strong? No, her sister was still alive.

This is all a dream…

Right?

She didn't know who he was or their intentions with her. She needed to know who he was. She couldn't trust them... She couldn't rely on others.

Then again, they were comforting her. Embracing her. Holding her close. She was too weak to stand up by herself anymore. So why would someone she didn't know comfort her, they didn't know her pain. They didn't know how it felt when she lost her mom. They didn't know anything about her.

She felt devastated. She didn't know what to do, but she didn't want to push him away either.

"You're not alone…" Hearing his soft and gentle voice caused her to bite her bottom lip because that was when she realized that she had already accepted him.

She believed him, that she wasn't alone, that she didn't need to bear all the pain alone.

And, before long, she pulled closer to him, sobbing quietly in his arms.

She just wished she could've seen Ruby one last time.

Yang's eyes slowly opened. Her vision was a bit blurry, but that was because of the light spilling in from the opened window blinds. She heard the sounds of nature, the birds singing, the trees rustling in the wind, and the wind howling as it traveled between and over the trees.

There wasn't any big grimm coming for her, it wasn't dark or dead silent. The world around her was the real deal, it wasn't a world created by her mind.

It wasn't a nightmare.

She gripped the bed sheets as her eyes began to moisten. She didn't let her tears spill this time, even going as far as biting her bottom lip to prevent herself from feeling those horrible emotions again.

She would admit it. She didn't want to go back to sleep. She was scared of seeing her sister die again, scared to accept she had been this strong because of her sister. Yang was afraid of what she would become if she experienced that nightmare again.

If it becomes a reality.

She just wasn't ready.

"You're finally awake." An unfamiliar voice called out, and it sounded like they were in the same room as her.

She turned her head towards the source of the sound. Her vision was still pretty blurry. Her eyes were trying to adjust to the sudden amount of light entering her eyes, so she thought the man sitting on the chair next to her bed was her dad.

"Dad?" Yang said with a tired voice.

"Yeah?" He replied. That's when she noticed his tone of voice didn't sound like her dad… maybe her hearing also was a bit off.

"Ruby, is she… okay?" Yang said.

"Yeah, she's okay, you don't need to worry anymore." Her 'dad' said. But now she was getting pretty suspicious.

She squinted her eyes, which helped her see a little better, but she still couldn't tell who he was, "Who are you?" She asked.

"You've already forgotten?" He said.

She tried remembering his voice. She felt like she'd heard it before but couldn't remember.

Where has she heard it before… wait, oh no…

"I'm Adam,"

Yang audibly groaned as she turned to her side, facing the opposite direction of Adam, "How'd you even get inside my room, wait, no- how'd you even get inside my house?" Yang asked him while her eyes stared out the window, looking up at the clouds covering the bright blue sky.

She found it weird that she didn't call out to her actual Dad for help. Why didn't she run the moment she found out he was there? He was a stranger, and she didn't know what he was thinking inside that head of his.

She wondered if it was because she felt comfortable around the man, but she doubted that. The only reason she felt comfortable was because of his semblance.

And it was working, unfortunately.

"Qrow asked me to watch over you and your dad allowed me to temporarily take residence in his cabin," Adam explained.

"Dad? Of course he would let someone like you in." Yang moaned in annoyance.

Adam sat in silence.

Adam had a question he wanted to know from the day he saved her, "Have I done something to upset you?"

Yang was about to say 'yes.' But she remembered that it was Adam that saved her and her sister from a pack of beowolves. She owed him. The least she could do was try and be nice.

"No…." Yang's tone was quiet.

"I see…" Adam said.

Adam moved on to another question he needed to know, "How do you feel?"

"I'm fine." She lied.

Yang didn't feel fine, not emotionally or physically. Her bones ached, and every movement she made agitated her wounds, cuts, and bruises. She honestly wanted to go back to sleep and sleep off the pain until it all went away. But she couldn't, not now.

The feeling in her heart was horrible, uncomfortable like it was trying to beat inside a thick liquid, "Can I see my sister?"

She didn't know why she was asking him. She could see her sister any time of the day if she wanted. Maybe she asked because she thought her sister was also in a similar condition.

Adam gave her a sweet smile, which she wasn't expecting, and, for a moment, she thought the heavy feeling surrounding her heart had disappeared. Like she had been free from those feelings.

"I'm not going to stop you, go ahead," Adam said, "but don't strain yourself, alright?"

"Yeah- thanks," Yang moved her blanket to the side. Adam watched from his chair like he was expecting something to happen. She didn't know why he was watching, maybe to make sure she was okay.

She tried to put up a front that she didn't need help. She slid her legs off to the side of the bed, but the moment she tried getting up, it felt like a needle stabbed through the bottom of her foot and traveled up her leg to her head.

Thankfully, before she could fall face first on the ground. It all happened in an instant. She saw Adam kneeling, allowing him to catch her. And she was just tall enough to lay her head on his shoulder for support.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Adam said, worry evident in his voice, "I can take you to Ruby, so don't force yourself..."

But Yang didn't respond. The reason was because she was embarrassed. Yang said she was fine, but here she is, falling over herself, not even a step off the bed. Well, how could anyone blame her? She couldn't heal within a day, and she didn't have her aura unlocked, but still, she found it embarrassing.

Adam sighed. He knew from the moment he saw her that she still hadn't recovered from her injuries. Adam knew his children well. He could tell if they were in pain, emotional or physical.

When he first entered the room almost an hour ago he had begun to watch over her. That was when she started to express discomfort, but it wasn't discomfort from pain. She was experiencing a nightmare.

Adam wanted to help her and comfort her, but he knew Yang disliked him. He understood that, at the time, she acted like she did because of her sister, Ruby.

He remembered when his son, Cain, was around three years old when he experienced his first nightmare. Cain cried non-stop, and when Adam tried rocking Cain back and forth in his arms, Cain would continue to cry. Adam didn't know what to do, and it made him worry that something must've happened to Cain, but that was until Eve came along and showed him that just rubbing the palm of Cain's hand would calm him down, or the back of the hand when it came to Abel.

And he would continue doing that every time his two sons had a nightmare.

So, he did just that with Yang, and soon, her discomfort disappeared, but a small tear ran down her face.

And here they were now, Yang's small figure lying against him for support.

Adam picked up Yang as gently as he could and placed her back on the bed, "Stay here. I'll go tell them that you're awake."

Yang nodded. She knew it would've been easier for them to come to her, but she wanted to show them that they had nothing to worry about, that she was fine, and she would joke about the recent events.

A minute later, Ruby came running in, asking her if she was okay and if she felt okay. Ruby asked her if Yang remembered who she was or who Ruby was, which left Yang stunned. As if she would forget her baby sister, she would be mad at herself if she did.

Her dad came in after Ruby, her actual dad this time.

Yang and her dad made eye contact and she received a smirk from him. It made her heart jump for joy to see her dad smile again, but she didn't show it, of course… okay, maybe she did smile back a little, but that was it.

Yang wanted to ask her sister what had happened while she was out cold, but she didn't want to ruin the mood.

Ruby was blabbering on and on about how she had to sleep alone in the dark and fight off all the sleep demons while she was gone, which made Yang let out a laugh or two, including her Dad.

Ruby suddenly jumped onto the bed, tackling Yang and giving her a big hug.

"R-ruby?" Yang said in surprise. Yang wasn't expecting Ruby to give her a big hug suddenly. It hurt a little, but she wouldn't tell her baby sister that she hurt her a little. She didn't want her to regret it or worry her.

"I was so worried, Yang, don't you ever do that again." Ruby tried to sound as serious as she could. Although, her high-pitched voice didn't help.

A smile found itself snug on Yang's face. She was glad her baby sister hadn't changed over the past two weeks. Yang was glad that Ruby still found it in herself to continue caring for others.

"I won't." Yang said.

But Ruby didn't believe her one bit. Ruby looked up at her sister and struck Yang with her ultimate move, puppy dog eyes.

And it was super effective.

"Ugh, fine, I promise I won't, happy now?" Yang tried to sound annoyed, but, in reality, she was happy her sister cared so much.

"Yeah! I'm really happy now!~" Ruby said with a bright smile, hugging Yang once more.

And before she knew it, her Dad also joined in on the hug. Yang wasn't expecting it. She didn't know how to react.

She felt her tears were about to spill, but they didn't.

Instead, a smile was plastered on her face as she hugged him tightly along with Ruby.

"Thank you, Ruby… and… I love you, Dad."

AN: I'm starting to feel bad for Yang, and I'm the one writing it!

Q&A:

Note: These are questions I believe some readers are curious to know.

When will the Lu Bu's Arc Start?: It should start after the next chapter. We would have been in the Lu Bu Arc a chapter ago if I hadn't added a lot more things in between while writing. Whoops.

When's the next chapter?: The next Chapter will probably be out in a couple of days, who knows?

Will other characters from RWBY meet Adam?: Yes, it will take some time. I don't want to make it like the usual. 'coincidentally being in the same store as Ruby which the store also so happened to be robbed by Roman. Oh no, Ozpin wants to invite me to school, well, I should accept it if I want more information about this world.' I've seen it hundreds of times even with popular fanfics, and it's starting to irritate me because you think you found a good fanfic until they pull that on you. Lazy writing I say.

Are other Characters from RoR going to be in RWBY: Yes, but I'm not sure about the gods yet, not early on in the story at least. I'll tell you the other two who'll be in RWBY, one you already know, Lu Bu, and the other will be Buddha.

Is Lu Bu going to be one of the main characters?: Yes, he'll definitely affect Remnant considering how powerful he is and how he also loves to fight strong opponents. He'll probably even be renowned across Remnant for his battle prowess.

Is Adam going to Fight Salem?: Yes, but not without a reason, after all, Salem was human once and technically still is, she's just covered in that grimm sludge.

Who are you going to ship Adam with?: ...You serious? Um, nobody because he already has Eve...

Who will you ship Lu Bu with?: Lu Bu... a "furious dragon" on the battlefield, a bloodthirsty warrior to many. And he loves a challenge in terms of battle. If you readers want it then I'll try, but it's just going to be a one-sided love type of thing for Lu Bu's lover, and that's kind of sad.

Ships between RoR characters and characters from RWBY: No, RoR characters are way too old and I don't see them being in any relationships, except for some that already are established since they're already in one. There will be lovers though, if possible, it won't be forced. And it'll take a while. It's not instant. Except for Adam, it isn't that type of love but plutonic love. But some may mistake Adam's effect on them for different types of feelings, not everyone feels the same thing. I'll try to make it character-accurate.

If you have some questions of your own then don't hesitate to ask in the reviews.

One more thing, tell me in the reviews if you want the story to progress a little faster, a little explanation would be nice too.

Anyway, Thanks for reading, cya next time.
