Marinette sat her computer desk. She could hear the leaves rustling outside her window and she glanced at Tikki. "Adrien and I need to do another fun fall activity," she told her Kwami. Typing her search into Google, Marinette propped her hands on her chin to see what would come up.
1. Pumpkin carving or picking.
2. Trick-or-treating.
3. Mushroom picking
"Mushroom picking! Aren't all mushrooms poisonous or something?" "Not all, honey," Marinette spun around in her chair for her dad had come into the room. "In fact, your mother and I even went mushroom picking. As to tell what one's are safe to eat, I bought a book on it that's in the bakery."
Marinette rubbed her chin. Mushroom picking did sound like fun. They could make a picnic out of it, and in the woods would nice and quiet. Okay, she was in. Now she had to see what Adrien had to say!
"I'm down as long as I'm not poisoned," Adrien joked as they headed to a small forest. "Don't worry, I have Papa's book to help us."
They ate lunch first, but that's when the shenanigans began as Adrien transformed into Cat Noir, and starting using the first tree as a scratching post! "Cat! We're not here to sharpen your claws, we're here for mushrooms!" Marinette snapped. "Come on!" Cat grinned as he stopped and followed her. "You don't need to sharpen your claws, do you, Bugaboo?" "I'll Bugaboo you if you if you keep this up." "Your so cute when your angry and you get that adorable pout." "Don't make me feed you a poisoned mushroom." Cat stopped, eyes twinkling with mirth. "Oh, I see what this is about." "Huh?" "Your upset that I creamed you last night at Mario. But they'll be other chances, love."
"Look! A mushroom field! Come on, let's see what Papa's book says." Being careful, they checked the book and the mushroom ring they were standing in was edible. "Mm, I should have brought a trowel. It might be tough picking these little guys." "Ahem," Cat cleared his throat. "We already have ten little shovels right here. My claws."
Marinette groaned. "Cat, if you get dirty, guess who's in charge of giving you a bath?!" Cat grinned, pointing at her. "I love your baths. You get my hair all fluffy and shiny." "If I have to give you a bath, no yowling, okay." Cat glared. "No promises."
They set to work, Cat working on cutting mushrooms. "What are we going to make with these, anyway?" "Um, your not going to make anything. Your the only cat I know who can set salad on fire." "Correction, I'm the only cat you know." "Good, cause I can only handle one of you for now, and I'm sure Mama will come up with something." Cat rubbed his tummy. "Mm, I love your mother's cooking. Do you think she'll make a pie?" "Focus!"
When they had gathered a bucket of mushrooms, they headed back. "Mushroom pasties!" Mama Cheng said when they got home. "Just you wait, you two will love them!"
Cat flopped down on the couch, a mournful expression on his face. "Mushrooms. Ugh." "Don't worry, Mama will work her magic. Now, I have to beat you at Mario Kart."
To Cat's surprise, the pasties did taste good, and he even lived till morning. Just what fall activity would they do next?
