"Come on, think, Marinette. Think." I pace my pink rug, moving back and forth. "I think best rolling my ball back and forth," Cat tells me. I plop down beside him. "I need an autumn dress for the dance. But what says autumn?" "Well, when I think of autumn the first thing I think of is autumn leaves with all their pretty colors," Cat smiles. "Hey! That's it!" I grab my sketchpad, and begin to draw rapidly. I stop for a moment, giving Cat a kiss on the cheek. "Thanks, love."
The night of dance I wait for Adrien to pick me up with sweaty palms. I hope he likes the dress, an orange color with muted tones. It was hard, but I actually was able to design it in a shape of a leaf.
Knock, knock. Adrien, knocking at my door as my heart knocks against my chest. "Hey," I smile as I open the door and my heart settles in my chest. Adrien's design is mischievous and playful, though I'm not sure who or what he's supposed to be. "I'm Puck, the Mischievous fairy, charming girls with my clawful puns." I snort, taking his hand as we head downstairs.
The school is packed, and I hold his hand tighter, not to get lost. "Want to dance first, or get some snacks?" "Dance. We'll take a break later for snacks."
I love the music the committee picked out. Classical music but jazzed up. Adrien pulls me close, just as a slow song comes over the speakers. "I'm so happy we have each other," I whisper. "Either of us are alone anymore." "My world changed as soon as I met you," Adrien's eyes are a dark shade of green. "Yeah," I blush then grin, "Having a girl dressed in a ladybug suit who just happens to be superhero flying through the air would be life-changing. And then I bonk you with my yo-yo." "You can bonk my head with your yo-yo anytime." "I might just take you up on that. And by the way, you totally stole that from the Princess Diaries." Dancing with Adrien is heaven, and when we take our break we bring our food out to the small courtyard.
A playful wind has sprung up and the lanterns sway in the breeze. "Listen," I listen to the wind rustling in the breeze. "Let's dance to the sounds of autumn, under an autumn moon."
So, Leaf and Fairy danced enchanted by Autumn's spell, even more in love.
