"Ah, its the perfect day for snuggling under a blanket and getting down to some serious designing," Marinette told her Kwami, Tikki. "After all, its raining cats and dogs out there!"
Thump! Marinette sighed as she looked up at her skylight to a grinning face. "Speaking of raining cats," she mumbled and opened the skylight. "Cat! How many times do I have to tell you?" she scolded her best friend, as he tumbled onto her bed. "Going out in the rain is going to make you catch a cold!"
"But, Princess! There are puddles to jump in and ducks to feed!" "Besides," he said, cuddling up to her. "Your the fashion designer, don't you have a fashionable raincoat for your lovable fur ball to wear?" "Yes, and get off, your all wet. But I don't know if you'll like the color."
"I feel like a giant rubber duck," Cat sighed, a few minutes later as Marinette stuck his hat on. "Hey, your the one who wanted to jump in the puddles. And be lucky I thought of holes in the hat for your ears!" "Okay. Now, let's go jump in some puddles!"
Despite the rain was pouring down, Marinette grinned as she and Cat set off into the rainy gloom. There was something magical about the rain, and the fresh smell made her spirits soar. "Look, Princess! A lamppost! Shall I go singing in the rain?" Marinette laughed. "Don't you dare. If you did, I'd be one very wet girl!" "Then we shall have to sing together." He bowed, ever the gentleman and Marinette took his arm, eyes shining.
But after a few minutes of yowling, Marinette had to stop. "Come on, let's keep going." "Open your mouth," she told him. "Um, okay. Ah!" "Ugh, cat breath!" Marinette waved a hand in front of her mouth. "You told me to say ah!" "I was checking for a fur ball! What was all that terrible screeching, anyway?" "Mewoch, Princess. Don't you love me?" "Of course, you big ball of floof. But not your singing or stinky breath!" Cat did a quick breath check. Whew, she was right!
"Come on, let's go down the pond and feed the ducks." The ducks swam right over, and Cat and Marinette had a wonderful time listening to them quack and squabble for the bread. "Cat, let's take a break under the tree. I'm getting cold!"
They cuddled under the tree, watching as the ducks settled down on the pond, an occasional quack here and there. "You know, all I wanted to do was be lazy today, but you made the rain fun, Cat." "Anything I do with you is fun, Princess. Your my best friend." "Oh?" Cat nodded. "And if its okay, I'd like to give you a kiss."
Under the weeping willow and the pattering rain, Cat and Marinette kissed. Marinette had a change of heart about rain that day, for today's rain had made many magical memories either of them would forget.
