"Come on in, Kitty. You can help us do a little taste taste," Marinette said when she opened the door to let him in. "What are we tasting? Cookies? Pies?" Marinette laughed as she took his hand, leading him into the kitchen. "No, silly! Jams and jellies!"
Mama Cheng was slicing a loaf of bread, and looked up at Cat with a gentle smile. "Tom wants to add more jams and jellies to some of recipes, so he asked us to do a taste test. We just a got a shipment of jams and jellies from America this morning." Cat licked his lips. "Sounds like fun! Count me in!"
It was fun trying the different flavors as some were sweet and some were sour. "Let's try this marmalade one next," Mama told them, slathering some on the bread.
Cat took a big bite of his, and Marinette burst out laughing at the look on his face. "Ugh, sour. Maybe Ladybug could give to Hawkmoth. After all, he's always wearing a sour look." "I don't know, Cat," Mama Cheng smiled and winked at him. "I think someone could rival Hawkmoth with a sour expression. And their right here at the table!"
Cat's mouth dropped open. "Not you, Mama Cheng!" Mama sipped her tea. "Well, I've been known to have my moments, but its actually your Marinette." "Mom!" Marinette moaned. Cat's lips twitched. "Princess, does this have anything to do with your morning coffee?" "Hey, if I had a garbage can you could call me Oscar the Grouch."
"My Kwami would like to live in one. But Princess, don't let all that sourness ruin your lovely expression!" "Cat," Marinette started sweetly. Cat munched on a cracker, eyeing her suspiciously, even if he did have a pretty good idea were this was going. "Do you know what would make me sweet as honey?" "A signed poster of Adrien Agreste?" he joked. "Well, yes. But what would butter me up and make me sweet as a honeybee would be you buying me coffee." "If I say no, will I get stung?" He leaned over, giving her cheek a little kiss. "Don't tempt me. I have the Bee Miraculous after all."
Cat stood up. "Well, then let's buzz off to the coffee shop and get you some nectar, er, coffee!" He looked at Mama Cheng. "I think Papa could you all the flavors, but just not the marmalade!"
