After everyone finished their fights against the Phoenix Tail members, they exited the pyramid and reunited.
There were a couple of injuries from the Fairy Tail group, but thanks to Rimuru's potions, they were able to recover quickly.
With the teleportation spell, they all returned to the city of Rimuru, where they were greeted by Veldora and the city people who congratulated them on their triumphant return, but that wasn't the end of it, as there was still one thing left to do.
Celebrate the victory.
That same night, a party was set up in and around the city's central square, with food stalls and games along the streets, decorations and even tables for people to sit and eat and drink.
The mages, meanwhile, were enjoying the party in their own way.
"Did you really eat the sword?" asked Kurobe as he and Kaijin stood with Gajeel and Lily.
"Well, I needed something to give me energy and it was the closest thing to me." said Gajeel.
"Wow. I've never in my life heard of someone eating magisteel and giving you power. You're one of a kind." said Kaijin in awe.
"Heh. You notice that now? Hey, couldn't you get me some of that mineral?" asked Gajeel.
"I'm sorry, but magisteel is a very hard material to find and very scarce." said Kurobe.
"But if it's any consolation, your friend's sword has a self-repairing ability that allows it to fix any damage it receives." said Kaijin.
"That would explain why it lost that bite mark." said Lily looking at his sword that was as good as fresh.
"I see. Then it would be nice if you were around when you want some." said Gajeel with a toothy grin.
"My sword isn't a treat, just so you know." said Lily with annoyance, causing the other three to burst out laughing.
"So, the key to holy magic is faith?" asked Wendy.
"Yes, as long as one keeps faith in God and in others, one will be able to perform holy magic without any problems." said Shuna.
"Sounds very simple." said Charle.
"Yes, for simple healing spells, but for offensive and powerful attacks you need to learn the proper prayers." said Shuna.
"I'll keep that in mind." said Wendy with a smile.
"WENDY!"
All three turned their heads to the side to see something running at high speed towards them, leaving a trail of smoke in its wake.
Before they could react, that something impacted Wendy and landed on her, causing her to crawl on the ground a bit before coming to a stop.
By the time that was over, that's when they all realized that the thing running towards them and on top of Wendy was Milim, who was hugging the young dragon slayer tightly.
"Oh, Wendy, how glad I am that you are well. They told me you were fighting a very strong guy and I was so worried." said Milim with teardrops at the corners of her eyes.
Despite the pain from the Demon Lord's crushing embrace, Wendy gave her a small smile as she rubbed her head.
"Take it easy, Milim. As you can see, I'm fine." said Wendy.
Milim looked up to see her in surprise before smiling brightly.
"That's nice!" said Milim.
"Hey, would you mind getting up off the floor? You're crushing her." said Charle.
"Oh, sure." said Milim before quickly getting up followed by Wendy.
"What are you doing here, Miss Milim?" asked Shuna.
"Like I said, I heard about what happened and I was worried about my friend, so I came so I could see her." said Milim.
"I'm sorry I worried you." said Wendy.
"Bah, what's done is done, since you're looking good." said Milim.
"Hey, since you're here, do you want to hang out with us? We'd have a lot of fun if we're together." said Wendy.
"Really? I'm in! Come on!" exclaimed Milim before running at full speed.
"*Sigh* Doesn't she ever learn?" asked Charle.
"That's Miss Milim for you." said Shuna as Wendy chuckled.
"Come on, let's catch up with her." said Wendy before she and the others went after the Demon Lord.
"Ice devil slayer magic? I've never heard of such magic in my life." said Gabiru.
"Well, it's not a common thing in my world either. I think I might be the only one with this magic." said Gray.
"And why didn't you use that power when you and I fought?" asked Gabiru.
"I usually leave it as a last resort if things are too hard and fighting with you wasn't." said Gray with a shrug.
"You say that even though I beat you up." said Gabiru crossing his arms.
"That's the way to talk, Lord Gabiru." said the first lizardman.
"No doubt, you are very strong." said the second lizardman.
"That human had nothing on you." said the third lizardman.
"What? For the record, I didn't use my full power against you. If I had, things would have been different." said Gray offended.
"Maybe you didn't use it because you were afraid of my power." said Gabiru sounding arrogant.
"Me afraid of you? That's it. Let's fight again and this time I'll use all my power to kick your ass, winged lizard." said Gray.
"What did you call me? Very well, but then don't complain if I beat you again." said Gabiru.
Lucy was walking quietly down a street as she watched people enjoying themselves in some way.
She even saw Geld having fun with a group of goblin children.
"It's like watching a guild party, only bigger. I wonder what it would be like if everyone was here too." thought Lucy with a smile, since, when it comes to parties, guild members can be a bit wild.
"Lucy!"
Lucy was startled when her name was called and turned her head to see Shion greeting her.
"Oh, hello, Shion." Lucy said.
"What do you think of all this?" asked Shion.
"Honestly, I'm surprised you managed to put it all together for tonight." said Lucy.
"That's just the way we are. Doing our best to meet the expectations of Lord Rimuru and the others." said Shion.
"I can see that." said Lucy.
"Speaking of which, I have prepared something for Lord Rimuru and I would like an outside opinion." said Shion.
That made a grimace of horror appear on the celestial mage's face.
"Uh… Eh… S-Sure. If that's what you want." said Lucy nervously.
"Fabulous. I based this dish on a food that Lord Rimuru called 'octopus balls'." said Shion taking out a tray full of meat balls.
However, they all looked rotten, emitting a poisonous aura and even had tentacles sticking out.
In fact, Lucy could have sworn she saw some of them move for an instant.
Even though she knew it tasted different, Lucy was nervous about the look, but she didn't want to let her new friend down, so she nervously picked up a ball of meat and popped it in her mouth.
"Mmm. It's really good. I'm sure Lord Rimuru will like it." said Lucy sincerely, for it truly was delicious.
"Thank you very much, Lucy. I'll take them to him right away." said Shion before walking away, leaving the celestial mage alone.
"I know her food tastes how she wants it to, but seriously, it should get better looking." thought Lucy with a bead of sweat.
"Fire dragon king mode, huh? Sounds interesting." said Veldora.
"Yeah, I got it from the magic Igneel left me shortly after he died." said Natsu.
"You know? I would have liked to have met your father. I'm sure we would have become great friends." said Veldora with folded arms and a toothy grin.
"I think so too, but just know that my father was very strong." said Natsu.
"Ha. You think so? No offense, but I doubt it." Veldora said.
"What? My father would have kicked your ass with his flames!" said Natsu offended.
"And I would have put them out with my power before they got to me." said Veldora.
"You want a fight?" asked Natsu.
"Meh, I'm not interested in winning again." said Veldora with a shrug.
They both looked at each other for a few seconds before bursting out laughing.
"You're an interesting guy, Natsu Dragneel." said Veldora.
"I know and you're not bad yourself, Veldora." said Natsu.
Nearby stood Happy eating a fish.
"Those two are definitely great friends. Aye, sir." said Happy as he ate the fish.
"It's a big party." said Erza.
"Yeah, it's typical in this city when we celebrate something." said Rimuru.
"It reminds me of guild parties, only ours are wilder and louder." said Erza.
"Hehe. I can't imagine." said Rimuru before sensing something.
"Warning. Teleportation spell creation process terminated." said Raphael.
"Really? Well, thank you very much, Raphael." thought Rimuru before looking at the red-haired mage. "Hey, speaking of your guild. I happen to have just completed the spell."
"Wait, you mean the spell to take us back to our world?" asked Erza in surprise.
"Yes. I can take you whenever you want, but it would be better if you enjoyed this party. Consider it a party for you too." said Rimuru with a smile.
Erza couldn't help but smile at the human slime's kindness.
Before she could say anything.
"Lord Rimuru, I have a dish for you." said Shion from a distance, causing the human slime and the red-haired mage to show a horrified expression.
"Eh… I'd better inform the others. See ya." said Erza before quickly leaving.
"W-Wait." said Rimuru trying to stop her, but he was left alone in front of his secretary's food.
The party went late into the night and by the time the sun came up the next day, almost everyone was sleeping in their homes, on the floor or on the tables because of how much fun they had at the party.
After Erza told the others about being able to go back to their world, they all decided to enjoy the party in style, as it would be the last one before they left.
Speaking of which, a little later in the new day, Rimuru and some of his friends were in a meadow in front of the Earthland mages to bid them farewell.
"Thank you so much for all you've done for us, Lord Rimuru. We will never forget it." said Erza bowing in thanks.
"No need. I've only done what anyone in my place would have done." said Rimuru.
"So, will this be the last time we see each other?" asked Wendy.
"I don't think so. Now that I know the spell to take you to your world, maybe, someday, I'll come visit." said Rimuru.
"Hey, that would be a good idea. In fact, we know the royal family of our kingdom personally. I'm sure they would love to meet you." said Lucy remembering her times with the princess of Fiore.
"Same here." said Rimuru.
"You're a tough guy, Gajeel Redfox." said Souei.
"Heh. Why don't we try it with a fight? With my new mode, I won't be defeated so easily." said Gajeel.
"I wouldn't underestimate him if I were you." said Lily.
"You should listen to your friend. You'd be dead before you activate that mode." said Souei.
"We won't know that unless we try it." said Gajeel positively.
"Hey, if you see Milim, give him my regards." said Wendy.
"I will, but she'll probably be very sad when she finds out you're gone." said Shuna.
"Well, as Lord Rimuru said, maybe, someday, she will come to visit us." said Wendy.
"If she comes to the guild, it will be more chaos than usual." said Charle causing the other two girls to laugh lightly.
"Thank you for everything you've taught me, master." said Erza bowing to Hakuro in thanks.
"Don't stop training hard. Rest assured, as long as you fight for what is important to you, you will become a very powerful warrior." said Hakuro.
"Yes, I will." said Erza with a smile.
"Hey, would you mind helping me become stronger next time we meet?" asked Gray to Benimaru.
"Ha. You want to be able to get revenge for the beating Gabiru gave you again, don't you?" asked Benimaru with a smile.
"Neither confirm nor deny." said Gray looking away.
"Hehe. Suit yourself, but I'm warning you, you're going to go through some real hell." said Benimaru.
"I accept the challenge." said Gray with a smile before the two shook hands.
"Thank you for the lessons, Veldora." said Natsu.
"Yes, I feel I have become stronger." said Gajeel.
"We are grateful to you, Lord Veldora." said Wendy bowing in thanks.
"Hahaha. I hope you will use some of those lessons for the next time we fight." said Veldora.
"Oh, yeah. I'll manage to hit him this time." said Natsu.
"Not if I do it first." said Gajeel.
"We won't let you down." said Wendy with determination.
"That's the way I like it." said Veldora.
"I hope you have a good trip back." said Shion.
"Thank you and take care of yourself, Shion. You're a great secretary." said Lucy.
"Oh, thank you. Now that I remember, I made you some food for the trip." said Shion handing a clipboard to the celestial mage who became nervous, as the clipboard was emitting a sinister aura.
"T-Thank you, Shion. I'll make sure we eat it all." began Lucy with a nervous smile. "Let's see how I explain to the others about this."
"Hey, Lord Rimuru," began Natsu catching the human slime's attention. "Do you think I… could be as strong as you?"
"As strong as me? A human? I highly doubt it." began Rimuru causing the fire dragon slayer to become discouraged. "However, I didn't get to this level by myself, everyone I met in this world, both allies and friends, have helped me become stronger and strive for it. I'm sure it's the same with you. As long as you have your friends, you will go far, Natsu Dragneel."
Natsu gave a big toothy grin at the human slime's words.
"Oh yes! You'll see! I'll be even stronger than the old man!" said Natsu with determination and a raised fist.
"Aye, sir." said Happy in support of his friend.
Rimuru couldn't help but smile at the determination shown by the fire dragon slayer.
After saying their goodbyes, the Fairy Tail mages gathered at one point.
"Very well. Prepare for the journey." said Rimuru before extending his hands forward.
The next instant, a magic circle appeared on the ground beneath the mages and stayed glowing for a few seconds until then, the mages suddenly disappeared.
Seeing that they were gone, Rimuru undid the magic circle.
"You know? When you're not busy with political or Demon Lord matters, we could go visit that world of theirs." said Veldora.
"That doesn't sound like a bad idea." said Rimuru.
As the Earthland mages passed through the tunnel that took them through space and time back to their world, they had one thing clear in their minds and that was that they couldn't wait to tell everyone about their adventure in another world, in a city of monsters run by a slime.
AN: Here we end with another adventure of the great slime.
Luckily, it won't be the last, as there are more on the way.
So, see you in the next story!
