It has been a few months now that Lucas was home. He moved in with me and the twins and everything seemed to be going well. He slid into father hood pretty easy and the routine we had. He would bath the twins and put them to bed by 8 and then they would have us up by 7 and if we were lucky we'd get a lie in until 8ish. Life seemed so happy.
Peyton and Jake were having us around for dinner tonight. Since Peyton moved out we had regular dinners and a girlie night every Sunday. I'd bring Wynter and Wyatt would stay with Lucas.
"So apparently Peyton and Jake want to talk to us about something" Lucas says walking into the kitchen with Wyatt in his arms "Jake just called"
"Yeah Peyton said something about that yesterday" I add "she wouldn't say what it was though"
"Yeah Jake either" he puts Wyatt on the counter "Where's my princess?" Lucas asks looking around.
"Living room watching little mermaid" I reply "you know how addicted she is to that movie. She's watched it 3 times already today"
"As long as she is happy" Lucas laughed putting Wyatt to the ground now "go watch with sissy" he nodded and ran off into the living room "What you doing?"
"Just washing up then I'm gonna go and sketch before we have to leave"
"How is your line coming along?"
"Good" I reply "Jenny is going to take these to New York tonight and then it goes out Monday morning"
"That's great baby. I'm so happy for you"
"Thanks Luke"
"So are you gonna tell us what's going on or do I have to guess?" I ask Peyton as we finished dinner.
She gave me a smile and pulled out a white box with a ribbon. I took the box from her and a sudden feeling washed over me. I think I already knew what was going on, but I undid the ribbon and my eyes went wide. She looked to Jake and I saw a emotion wash over her that I haven't seen before and I grasped. I didn't mean to, but it happened. All eyes turned to me.
"Are you okay?" Lucas asked.
"She's okay" Peyton laughed "she just knows me too well"
"No way" I finally say "is my grasp right? Are you?" Peyton nodded and I jumped up as did she and I flung my arms around her "Oh my god Sawyer" I felt a tear fall down my cheek.
I sat back down and moved the tissue paper to see a small baby grow with 'upgraded to auntie' written on the front.
"Oh my god Peyton" I wiped at my eyes.
"Okay what am I missing?" Lucas says sounding confused.
"They're pregnant" I inform him taking the baby grow out of the box.
"oh wow that's great man" Luke says "the greatest gift I got when I woke up. Being a dad is life changing and so much for the better"
"I can't believe your pregnant"
"I know right. You have no idea how long I've been wanting to tell you Brooke"
"How far are you?"
"16 weeks. We just wanted to make sure everything was okay before telling people and of course you guys were the first I wanted to tell" she looked to me and a hand went to her belly and her eyes filled with tears, but a smile was on her face "I'm having a baby Brooke"
"It's so great Sawyer. You're already good with the twins so I have no doubt you'll be such a great mom"
"And you'll be here with me?"
"Of course" I assure her "even though you have Jake I will always be here for you Peyton. Through anything"
"I love you, you that Davis?"
"And I love you just a much Sawyer"
"I can't believe this life that we have" I say to Peyton as we sit in her garden while the guys were in the kitchen "me and Luke having the twins and being together and you and Jake being a pregnant"
"It's crazy right?" Peyton replies "if my past self told me that I would find the love of my life and be moved in with him and having a baby with him I would laugh at her"
"Me too. I didn't even think I wanted kids" I laugh "now I don't know what I'd do without them two. I've never been so happy"
"So how did the first scan appointment go?"
"It's was amazing" she smiled "just seeing my little bean with heart warming"
We sat outside for an hour or so before Lucas and I decided to leave as it was getting late and the twins had fallen asleep on the couch.
"Thank you for having us" Lucas says "and congratulations again guys"
"So we'll go shopping tomorrow?" Peyton nods "baby shopping is the best" she laughed.
"Your already a great mother so I know you'll be a great Auntie and God mother"
"Really?" she nods with a huge smile "I love you so much"
"And we love you just a much" we say bye and then Lucas and I leave taking the sleeping twins and putting them in the car.
"Do you ever think of having another one?" Lucas asks as I put Wynter into her car seat.
"Another baby?" He nods "I haven't thought of that lately, but I will admit that when Peyton revealed her pregnancy I did get a little baby fever"
"I've had baby fever for the longest time" He reveals "since seeing the twins and you when I woke up. I missed mostly everything and I just wish I was here for you and the twins through everything"
"But that wasn't by choice Luke, you were in an accident"
"I know, but still I missed everything"
"I'm sorry Luke, but what are you exactly saying?"
"I don't know I was listening to Jake talk about being excited to be a dad and I just had this feeling the whole time and I've had baby fever since waking up"
"So what? you want a baby?"
He nods "the twins are 2 so it would be a good time to have one no?"
"I mean at least they would be in a good age gap" I reply getting into the drivers side and Lucas getting in too "okay let's do it".
"Really pretty girl?" I nod and he smiles kissing my cheek "So we're gonna do this, we're gonna try for another baby?"
"Yes we are"
"I love you Pretty girl. Thank you for giving me the best gifts in life"
"I love you too and no thank you for making me a mom"
