I wake in a great mood, smiling as I get out of bed. Thank goodness the girls weren't angry about the prank, and Argos and I got a lot of attention.

I hum as I brush my teeth, Plagg staring at me with his morning piece of cheese.

"I have a Princess,

And I'm the Prince Of Fluff."

"I think all that pampering last night went to your head," Plagg says, and he gobbles down his cheese leaving cheese crumbs on the bathroom counter. "Meh, most cats have floof. So that makes sense."

I feel as light as air as I eat my oatmeal, daydreaming about a certain girl at school. I'm heading to the car to be driven to school when I hear Father's voice coming from the office. "Adrien." The smile slides off my face, and I walk into the office, twisting my ring around my finger. "You wanted to see me, Father?" Father is sitting at his desk, and gestures for me to sit down. "Don't worry, this won't take long." He slides a small sheet of paper towards me. "My report card?" "Your getting a B in art, Adrien. And any model needs to know about art, especially if you'll be on the team of designers one day."

I don't want that life! I want to yell. I want to be a husband to Marinette and have kids and work in the bakery with Papa….But I don't. Years of patience have helped me to hold my tongue. "I'll do better, Father." "I think your distraction over this Marinette girl and her family isn't good for you. I'll see you get a proper art class, and in no time your grades will go up." I stand up, meeting Father's eyes. "Marinette and her family have nothing to do with my grades. In fact, they make me happy."

I leave without saying goodbye, and stomp out to the car, flinging my book bag in. Well, there goes my good mood for the day.

Everyone gives me a wide berth at school, and I sigh. Its not there fault I can't seem to control my mood. Marinette, Kagami, and Felix are huddled in the corner laughing at something, and as soon as I catch sight of Marinette's pretty face, my mood begins to brighten. The bell rings signaling classes are about to start, and I follow the sea of students into the room.

"Now, remember, the Annual Stargazing trip is tonight and permission slips are on my desk," our teacher says. "I hope all of you can come." I want to go with Marinette, and it would be good to get away from the city for the evening. But if I go with Marinette, what would Father say….

At least I have the day to think about it. I notice Marinette grabs a slip, looking happy. Normally, I like school but today I just want to put on the mask, and talk to Marinette.

I stop short as I see Father standing in the entrance of school talking to Marinette. What is that about? When I transform however, Father is gone and Marinette looks to have gone home.

"Hey, why didn't you wait for me after school today?" I ask, as we make a snack in the kitchen together. "One of my friend's father's is convinced I'm a bad influence on him," she sighs. "I guess…" Marinette drops her head, looking at the floor. "I guess I didn't want you or people to see me cry. I know I make mistakes, but I try to be the best friend I can to Adrien."

"Oh, Princess." I hold out my arms for a hug, and she walks straight in, hugging me tighter. I begin to feel her shoulders begin to shake, and I rub her back gently. "Just let out, honey. You'll feel better." Marinette starts crying hard. "Hey, love. What's going on?" I get a gabled response, and I have an idea how to calm her down.

Ten minutes later, we're curled up on her bed, me holding her, stroking her hair and murmuring Mandarin. After awhile, she settles down, and lays down watching me. We hold hands, and eventually she falls asleep. I notice the crumpled note on her bed, with her parents permission for tonight. Do I have an enough time to get Father to sign mine?

I look at Marinette, fast asleep and take a deep breath. Its a risk, but I detransform and pull out my phone and text Father. Being careful, I don't give any meson of my friend, and to my surprise Father lets me go.

When Marinette wakes up, I need to go, but before I go, she whispers, "Cat?" "Yes?" "Will you kiss me before you go?" I nod, cradling her cheek in my palm, her lips soft upon my own. "Your very special, Marinette. Don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise," I remind her, pressing another kiss to her lips.

The next couple of hours pass quickly and then its time to head back to school. I wear a hoodie for the night air will soon be chilly, and before I know it, I'm climbing on the bus. My eyes immediately scan the bus for Marinette, and I find her in a window seat. "Mind if I join you?" she nods. "I needed to out of town. And won't it be fun to see the stars?" "Hey, maybe we'll even be able to make a wish." Marinette's face suddenly pales and I wonder what I could have said.

Its chilly on the bus, and I notice Marinette shivering. "Are you cold?" she looks up at me, pink eyes like a bunny and nods. "Come here." I put my arm around her, and she snuggles up and within minutes is soon asleep. Her eyes flutter and I know she's dreaming. The curious side of me wonders what….

I open my eyes and the scene is different then the one I fell asleep with. "So, your finally awake, M'lady." I sit up, gasping in shock as Cat Blanc sits beside me. "Where am I and what are you doing here?" "A memory must of surfaced and your dealing with a lot of emotions right now. Oh, here." Cat hands me a red cloak trimmed with some kind white lining on the bottom. As I fasten it around me, I take in my surroundings.

The sky is a watery blue with a thin white mist around us. We're sitting on an ice floe and drifting. As if reading my thoughts, Cat says, "You want to get away from Paris, but the ones you love hold you back." I nod slowly. "If Cat and Adrien weren't here, I would have left long ago." "Why haven't you told your partner who you are?" Heat rushes through me, despite the numbing cold. "I'm not giving you my Miraculous." "I wasn't asking that." I sigh, knowing he's right. "Because I'm afraid," I whisper, surprised he can even hear me. "I'm afraid of myself. And rejection that he won't love the girl behind the mask. And I made a promise that I can't keep." Hot tears of anger and shame run down my cheeks and I feel a hand turn my face towards Cat's. "I failed you, Kitty. If I really loved you, I would have brought your mother back, just as your father said." "Marinette, I will always love her, but I have her memories. And with memories, there is always room for new ones. You have nothing to feel ashamed of." "Truly?" "Truly."

I take a deep breath, knowing the time is right and with a shaky hand I reach up to take out my earrings. First one, then the other. With a soft pink glow, I sit next to my partner. "You were right to call me Marinette, but you may also call me Princess."

"Marinette. Marinette. We're here." "Oh," she yawns and stenches, looking refreshed from her nap. She groans however when we get up, and I look at her with concern. "I'm fine, Adrien. Its just from sitting to long."

A spaghetti supper is served before we head into the field, and a bit of Cat Noir side comes out without the mask. "Yum, I was hoping they would serve worms." "Yuk! Adrien!" I twirl a forkful and hold it to Marinette. "Open up, Little Bluebird." "Little Bluebird," she says thoughtfully. "I like that."

Stargazing is a lot of fun, snuggled up in a blanket with Marinette. Two shooting stars streak across the sky, and when I make my wish, I don't make it for me.
