Gabriel stewed quietly as the police led him away. He would go willingly, but he would be the one with the upper hand soon. His mind whirred like sewing machine, plotting out his next plan. Curse Cat Noir for being such a goody for that Marinette girl and her family and finding the brooch. He straightened. Wait, Cat Noir and Marinette. No, it couldn't be possible, could it? Could his son beneath the mask, keeping his loved ones safe?

He was patted down at the station before they led him to his cell. He could hear the guards murmuring, why wasn't Paris number one villain being so compliant? He wore a mask of invisibility, for Gabriel hadn't come to jail without a plan in place. Ivan was already here. Ah, well. He'd talk to him later.

But Gabriel soon recoiled in horror and walked quickly to the front of the cell, for spiders had made their homes in the dark corners and dangled down in front of him.

"Gabriel, I have new information for you," Ivan said, quietly. "Let's here it. After all, your the one who got me in this mess." "Your nephew and Argos are particularity close with that Marinette girl. Its almost like they keep secrets from the world and Felix is very protective of Marinette." "That would be a scandal if it reached the papers, but school gossip was yesterday's news." "No, no, listen! I think that close bond could be the connection between Argos and….Ladybug." Gabriel gasped. "You think the baker's daughter is Ladybug?!" "I don't know, if I could more digging, I could find out. But I would need your help to find out and a Miraculous." Gabriel chuckled coldly, and Ivan shivered at the sound of his laugh. "You think Ladybug would just leave her Miracle Box anywhere? No, she's much more clever. But I can give you the power of invisibly." "How? I'm trapped a cell." "Wait for nightfall and I'll tell you what to do."

The hours ticked by slowly, but at last darkness fell. "You there?" Gabriel called to the younger boy. "At your service." Foolish boy, Gabriel thought. He would do anything to get into a powerful position at Agreste Inc. "If you walk directly to the center of the cell, you will find some loose bricks. You'll have to be quiet, but remove them and you'll get into my cell. Then we'll talk step two."

Gabriel shivered in this cold dank cell. He wished to be anywhere but here. Feeling exhausted, he slumped down against the wall, making sure no spiders dangled above him and he fell asleep….

At first, Gabriel couldn't place where he was, then he realized it was his son's room. He heard the door open and close, and he breathed a sigh of relief when Adrien walked right past him. Good, he was invisible then. A outsider, looking in.

Adrien snapped on his desk light, sitting down in his desk chair. Gabriel moved closer, as Adrien delved into his drawer and pulled out a drawing? Photograph? "Do you remember, Mother? I drew this when I was five, and Father had taken me to see his shop. I felt so proud of him, admiring how creative he could be. And how we laughed when you came to pick me up and we all played dress-up and laughed ourselves silly. Father misses you so much, we both do, but while I have learned to love and smile again, Father has not. I miss him. But he's pushed me away to many times, and I had to find a family. But if ever Father opened his heart, I would be willing to give him another chance."

Gabriel's head jerked up. It had been a dream. He could stay and serve his sentence, right his evil wrongs. But no, he was to far down the path of evil to turn back now.

Ivan had finally broken through and Gabriel unzipped a secret pocket, so secret that no guard would detect it. He wasn't one of the world's leading fashion designer's for nothing, after all. "Just pull the bricks in this pattern," Gabriel instructed Ivan and Ivan slowly started to do so. Dust and dirt from the other side made them cough, but at long last a dark tunnel slowly opened up and yawned at them.

Gabriel was impatient as they put the bricks back, for they were wasting the darkness, for it was their cloak and cover.

Down here, Ivan was lost, Gabriel knew the tunnel system like the back of his hand. This was where he had the final battle with Ladybug and Cat Noir, at least for now. It was black as a moonless night and you couldn't see a hand in front of face, the darkness pressing in. But what was that multi-colored light up ahead? Whew, the smell of the sewer was pungent.

But the sewer smell was soon forgotten, for up ahead was the Miracle Box. So, this is where Ladybug had hidden it, down in the bowels of the sewers, in the smelliest part. He slowly lifted the lid of the box, seeing the Miraculous. But no, it wasn't the right time to be Hawkmoth again. Let them let down their guard, and then strike when they least expected it.

"Why are you hesitating?" Ivan asked, reaching out his hand towards the box. Gabriel lashed out, slapping his hand. "No! The moment has yet to come!" Gabriel would head back to the cell while Ivan would head to the mansion.

Back at the mansion, beneath the house, Emile slept in a coma, a slight smile on her face. On the case of the Miraculous getting damaged, she had found a solution. But there was risk involved, for the formula was buried in the ground. But Emile knew her son was clever enough to find it. Even from early on, she had watched Gabriel's hunger for power, and she hoped whoever the current Ladybug was, would keep Paris safe.

At the hotel, Adrien slept peacefully unaware of any evildoing beneath the city. He was dreaming of his mother when he was young, and they were going to the park to throw a coin in the ladybug fountain. Adrien watched his mother close her eyes and toss the coin into the water. "There, we've wished health and safety on Ladybug," his mother grinned. Adrien moved restlessly in his sleep for this part of the dream was more memory then dream.

Outside the dream however, a black cloud of fur had seen Adrien go into the guest bedroom where Marinette and her parents were staying. Inky used her paw to open the door, for she loved Adrien and wanted a cuddle.

Making herself comfortable on Adrien's chest, Inky curled up and fell asleep, waiting for him to wake up.
