"Oh, please tell me they'll be cheese," Plagg begs when I lie awake in my bed the next morning. I'm back home in the mansion, though with all my things boxed up or donated, the room feels a bit empty. I guess in one way, its always been that way. "Of course, Plagg. Don't worry, Marinette won't let you starve."
Since I don't have to be dressed up into later, I select a comfortable outfit of a hoodie and jeans. I'll be glad when Marinette and I can relax for a few days, for the last month has been so hectic.
The morning passes quickly, and I drive over to the museum where the wedding is taking place, in the small chapel area. Sitting down at the small piano, I hit "record" and begin to play some of the wedding songs. Marinette asked me to do the selection, seeing she likes my piano playing. Now, if only she liked my yowling. Maybe one day they'll be a way to have music on our little island, but that's something to think about for another day. At noon, the hairstylist and the helpers to get Marinette and I ready arrive. After a short lunch, they get started, making sure the groom is groomed to perfection.
I change in a small room, staring in a mirror, and I can hear people arriving. I don't normally get nervous, but my hands sweat as I do up my buttons. Then comes the knock at the door.
Walking quickly and discreetly, I use my Kwagamata to have a reunion with Dark Grimalkin. "What's the occasion, my Feline Friend?" he grins at me. "A wedding, and Joan is invited too."
I slip back into my spot and follow the procession up to the altar. The music starts to play and as the people rise, tears rise in my eyes.
There's my Bugaboo, all dressed in white on the arm of her father. Oh, stars above, she is beautiful. Her eyes are shining, but I notice how tightly she grips her father's arm. I know she would die of embarrassment if she tripped.
Time seems to move slowly as they come down the aisle, and at last, with a tradition as old as the world, Tom places her hand in mine. "Ready to do this, Bugaboo?" "Let's go," she squeaks, and her eyes like mine are full of happy tears.
We can't take our eyes off each other as we say our vows, but what does catch my attention is the small stitched ladybug made of pearls on her dress as it shimmers under the lights.
"May I introduce to you, Marinette and Adrien Agreste!" We turn to the crowd, smiles of love wreathed on our faces, and the ones who are invisible blow us kisses before we both whisper to end reunion.
The night goes on without a hitch, and many of our friends are back from college to celebrate. Its fun to catch up with them, before we disappear from Paris.
When they dancing starts, I don't want to let go of Marinette, though she whispers a headache is forming from the loud music. "Don't worry, Princess," I whisper. "I have a solution."
I whirl her out onto a small balcony and disappear for a second to transform. "Would you give your Kitty the honoring of dancing with him?" I ask Marinette with a small bow. "Why, of course."
Marinette leans her head on my shoulder as we move in a slow circle. "Now this is music I can dance too," she grins up at me. "Even if there is no music. Oh, just think, tomorrow night we'll hear the gentle sound of surf lapping at the shore."
The morning comes to quickly after a busy day, and now the hard part of saying goodbye. Hugs are given, tears are shed, and promises are made.
"Take care of each other," Mother whispers, as she hugs me hard and kisses my cheek. Then, we're off, finding a secret spot to use the Horse Miraculous and just like that we step through the portal.
Our feet brush the sand, and the sun is just setting on the horizon. "How about we camp under the stars tonight?" I ask. "As romantic as that sounds," Ladybug giggles. "You'll be under the covers all night, shaking. At least let's set up a tent."
Its the most perfect evening ever, as we make a fire are make supper on it, before retiring to our tent. "Spots Off," Marinette says, swapping spots for her nightgown. "Mm, its chillier then I thought," she snuggles up to me, her head laying on my chest. We're quiet, as I stroke her hair, and she listens to the sound of my heartbeat.
Its so quiet all you can hear is the lapping of water, and our quiet breathing and heartbeats…..
Whump! "I'm a Agreste for five minutes, and you wake me up with snores!" I open my eyes to see Marinette holding a pillow, the light of battle in her eye. "Meow very sorry," I grin, and she beats me with the pillow. "Mercy, mercy! I'll make you coffee!" The pillow drops from her fingers. "That's more like it."
I shiver, pulling on a sweater as I step out onto the chilly sand. I start the fire, and pour the coffee grounds into the pot. I feel a nudge. "Sit up, I'm cold and want to cuddle," Marinette says, still in her nightgown. "Are you going to purr?" she grumbles something I can't catch, kisses my cheek and cuddles up.
"Your going to have to help me with the cabin, Bugaboo. I'm no good at spring cleaning." "Even though its fall?" she keeps her eyes closed. "Yep."
Marinette is more awake after her first cup of coffee, and soon she's up and dressed and making breakfast that we eat, watching the sunrise.
Then we head to the cabin, to make our new home our own.
