Walking over to Leah, Connor placed a cup of coffee in her hands and lightly rubbed her right shoulder.

"You holding up okay, Babe? You went quiet on the drive over here." Connor explained, Leah carefully drinking half of the coffee before setting it down.

"I just… after all these years, I just can't believe it. My mom's alive." Leah responded.

Looking away from the room Elena was sleeping in, Gavin looked at Leah and back to Elena as Hank walked out of it.

"You okay there, Gavin?" Hank questioned.

"I… I can't believe she's alive." Gavin responded quietly before they saw Tyler walk into the ER and Hank and Tyler saw each other.

"Damn, kid… you were in college when I last saw you." Hank replied before Leah stood up, Connor standing up next to her.

"Hi…" Leah responded as Tyler walked to her.

"Last time I saw you, you were a tiny baby. You look just like your mom." Tyler replied before they hugged for a few seconds.

When Elena looked up, Tyler walked in and Elena stood up before they hugged each other.

"I have missed you so much, little brother." Elena responded softly before they let go and sat down on the bed.

"I've missed you too. I've missed talking to you, asking how your day went, you helping me with anything I asked… and I've missed much of Leah's life." Tyler explained as they glanced at Leah.

"I can't believe that my baby girl is an officer now… she's fully grown. Seems like yesterday, I had just found out I was going to be a mom…" Elena replied.

Februrary 12th 2018...

"So you want nothing to do with me or your grandchild? Fine." 24 year old Elena responded before she stood up and 29 year old Steven helped her put her coat on as 51 year old Valerie tried to stop them from leaving.

"You are not walking away from me, you are my family!" Valerie yelled, Steven turning to her.

"The baby she and I are having is your family too, Valerie! You just don't want to accept that!" Steven responded angrily before he and Elena left, 20 year old Tyler getting out of his Camaro and seeing them.

"Elena, what happened?!" Tyler asked after seeing her in tears.

"Mom wants me to have an abortion and come back here! I told her no!" Elena responded, Tyler pulling her into a hug.

"I'm glad you did. I'm looking forward to being an uncle." Tyler replied before they let go and he and Steven shook hands. "Congrats, you two are gonna be great parents." He responded.

"Thank you, kid." Steven replied before he and Elena left… and Tyler looked at the open door of the house as Valerie slammed and locked the door.

He had no idea what she was planning as he got back into his car and drove away...

Present time...

Hearing yelling and demanding, Hank turned around and found the source of the screeching… and walked to Valerie.

"Still don't know when to shut up, don't you?" Hank asked, Valerie turning startled as she saw him.

"Hank?! Where is my daughter?!" Valerie demanded.

"You're on the no visitors list, Valerie." Hank responded, Valerie rolling her blue eyes.

"That's not gonna stop me!" Valerie retorted before she went looking for Elena, only to be pulled back and seeing Leah.

"No but I damn sure will. I'd call you Grandma but you're not deserving of that since you wanted me gone before I was even born. And then you kept your own daughter drugged and comatose for almost 20 years, all because you didn't get your own way, bitch!" Leah responded, Valerie startled by the temper as Elena never once cursed.

"Raised by Hank, I take it… tell me, what happened to your cousin who-" Valerie started to say but Leah grabbed her by her coat collar in a threatening manner and slammed and held her against the wall as Gavin jumped back, startled by the slam.

"Finish that fucking sentence, you hateful, heartless bitch! I dare you!" Leah responded angrily before she was pulled back by Connor and Hank.

Valerie readjusted her coat collar and she and Leah glared at each other before Valerie was escorted out by hospital security… and Connor got Leah to sit down as Hank and Gavin turned to each other.

"Damn..." Gavin responded.

"Not the first time someone stood up to that bitter vindictive shrew." Hank replied.

Elena walked out of the room with Tyler following her and Elena and Leah hugged... and Elena brushed Leah's tears away and lightly rubbed her back.

"She never loved anyone, kiddo. It was all about control. I'm sorry." Elena replied softly before they let go.

"I'm just glad you're alive. We have a lot to catch up on, Mom." Leah responded.

After being released from the hospital and wearing a pair of blue scrubs given to her, Elena took a shower at the Anderson house and dried off before she was wearing some of Leah's clothes… and she petted Sumo.

"Well hello there." Elena replied gently, Sumo nuzzling her.

"This big guy is Sumo. He's very friendly and also very protective." Hank responded, Sumo barking in response to that.

"Good boy." Elena replied as she lightly scratched Sumo's ears and he thumped his right back foot against the carpet in a contented manner.

After Gavin brought pizza over and he, Elena, Hank, Tyler and Leah ate, Connor and Nines looked at each other.

"Watch out, Sumo's eying you and wants to tackle you." Connor responded.

"I'll take him out for a walk after everyone's had a chance to unwind from the day we all had." Nines replied.

In an abandoned building in Ferndale, Valerie met up with someone who was wearing a hooded jacket.

"What's the hold up with paying me?!" The person demanded.

"I kept my end of the deal, you didn't! The brat that my daughter had survived the accident and my daughter woke up and escaped the facility you said had the best security!" Valerie retorted.

"Not my problem, Valerie." The person responded.

"Not your problem?! Okay, how about I go to the police station and tell them that you tried to kill that young man in Greektown and then framed Elena?!" Valerie replied angrily.

"You know what happens if I don't get paid and then you go and threaten me… especially since you passed our daughter off as your husband's to get his money." The person responded before he lunged at Valerie and started strangling her.

Valerie fought back as she was trying to get free… but she couldn't fight anymore and he snapped her neck before he dropped her lifeless body onto the ground and left her there.

He felt no remorse for what he had done, wishing he had done it a lifetime ago.
