From This Moment On-Ch 9
Penelope and Reid sat talking while he bonded with his new nephew, she could see the love he had for her son in his eyes, she was so lucky to have the kind, loving family she did. Reid stood up and followed Penelope to the nursery where he laid a now sleeping Hank down in his crib and covered him up before the two turned around and walked back into the living room.
Reid said, "it's so good to see you again Penelope, I can't tell you how much we have all missed you", Penelope sighed and said, "and I've missed you to boy wonder, you have nooooo idea how much I have missed all of you".
He sat looking at her as she said, "but, my life in Virginia is over now, this, this is my home, mine and Hanks permanent home", Reid said, "why is it your permanent home, why not come back to Virginia with us and let everybody get to know your son, Derek deserves to know is son", she nodded her head and said ,"he does, he does and I will never keep his son away from him, it's just right now I can;t go back".
Penelope looked down at her hand as his laid gently down on top of hers and he said ,"you can always come back to us, we love you, we miss you, we need you", tears streamed down her cheeks as she sat shaking her head no and whispering over and over, "I can't, I just can't".
Reid said, "Penelope why did you leave town, tell me honestly", she looked up at him and wiped away the tears that were streaming down her cheeks and said, "I couldn't stay Reid, not after what Derek and I did, not after the amazing night we spent together, what we did, it, well it was wrong, he was an engaged man".
As he sat listening to his heartbroken friend he could hear the brokeness in her voice, she was truly broken, he knew that she wanted to go home with them, to be with them all, especially Derek as they watched their son grow together and from the look on her face it wouldn't take much to persuade her to come home where she belonged.
Reid said, "Penelope when you and Derek spent the night together he wasn't engaged, him and Savannah had broken up a couple of days before that, he was gonna tell you, he was gonna tell you everything but the next morning you were gone and then we got called away on that case but he was gonna tell you everything, including how much he loved and needed you when we got home but you were already gone".
Penelope siad, "he doesn't love me Reid, look at me, I'm soooooo not his type", Reid shook his head and said, "what is his type in your eyes?", she said, "beautiful, smart, graceful, perfect", she waved her hand in front of herself and said, "and as you can see, none of that is me Reid, none of it"., he said, "all of it is you Garcia, you are an amazing woman, you are beautiful, smart, graceful and perfect, for Derek you my friend are perfect".
He patted the top of her hand and said, "he loves you Garcia, please, please give him the chance to prove it, just talk to him, let him meet his son, explain everything that you're thinking and feeling to him because I can promise you one thing", she looked up at him and said, :"what?", he said, "he loves you with all of his heart", once again the tears slid down her thin cheeks, gone were the plump cheeks he'd seen for so many years, gone was the blonde hair that once adorned her head and also missing was the trademark Penelope Grace Garcia glasses but underneath she was still the same, kind, loving oracle they had all always known.
Penelope looked up at Reid as he said, "will you let me get the team here so that they can see you again and meet Hank, I know they all miss you and want to see you", she thought for a few minutes and then nodded her head and said, "okay Reid, okay, they can come, it's time for me to stop running, it's time for Derek to meet his son".
Reid grinned as he sent a group text message to his friends asking them to meet him at an address, it was only a matter of a few seconds before he got a response from his wife letting him know that they were on the way, he looked at Penelope and said, 'they're coming, they'll be here in a few minutes", she blew out a deep breath and nodded her head yes as she sat on the couch beside Spencer to wait on her family to get there.
