Jacklynn was more than greatful for the change in subject Zim's slip in language offered. Had he really just said she was attractive?

She looked at him a little more closely...He was only shorter than her by about half an inch...aside from his odd green hue, he was conventionally handsome. Soft, yet chizeled features... especially that jaw...hallowed cheek bones accentuated a strong chin. His lips were thin, but his mouth had an ofdly appealing shape to it. His nose was a little odd...not unattractive, but from his profile, it didn't seem to fit his face. He had large, bright eyes...like husky eyes, ice blue. Thick chizeled, black brows made them even more striking. His hair looked good on him, a bit shaggy...looked to be a grown out fade, pitch black like ink, and mussed up with a little gel.

He was broad shouldered and narrow waisted. Lean, but toned enough that she could see that his arms and legs were built, a hint of muscle visable where his pantlegs and shirt sleeves were a little snug. He reminded her of someone but she couldn't quite place it.

She wanted to say that he resembled a young Johnny Depp...but that wasnt quite right, his features were a little harsher than that...Ian Somerhaulder! He looked almost just like him...if he were slowly turning green that is.

What was she doing? Jacklynn shook herself a bit. She had just met the guy! His house popped up out of nowhere, destroyed her apartment, he could barely speak English...she did not need to be entertaining a budding crush just because he called her attractive...in a weird way at that. She sighed...being alone for so long has obviously had an effect on her.

Tearing her eyes from Zim, she noticed they were coming up to the school.

"Well... here we are. I'll take you yo the office to get your things, there should still be plenty of time to catch breakfast before the first bell."

"Many thank Jack Lynn. I accompany you to the mess hall, yes?"

Was he asking to eat with her? She usually just sat with Gaz. She smiled.

"Sure Zim, I'd like that. Let's get things handled first."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dib A few moments earlier
" I don't know why you're so upset with me Gaz." The lanky boy stalked after his sister who was angrily speed walking to keep ahead and away from him. " She was almost my girlfriend, of course I'm concerned -"
" Dib. Shut up! Almost your girlfriend!? Dib she gave you a pity date! Homecoming two years ago! It's time to move on!"
That hurt. Pity date!? No way... Dib scowled at the back of his sister's head and groaned.
"You know how I feel about her...and how can I move on when you still hang out with her!?"
Gaz threw her hands in the air and groaned. Turning on her heel to look at him, she dug her index finger into his chest, getting on her tip toes to get a little closer to eye level with him.
" Dib Membrane, you need to stop. Get it through that big head of yours. Jack doesn't want you. No girl is going to want you with how creepy you act! If I have any hope of having nieces or nephews, you have got to stop doing this shit! Leave Jack alone! Get a hobby! Get a life!"
With that said, she took off stomping her way towards the office...no doubt to sneak a cigarette in the girl's bathroom. Dib groaned. He knew that she had a point...but the problem was he had such a hard time controlling himself... especially when it came to Jacklynn.
He let his feet carry him to the cafeteria. Maybe breakfast would be a good distraction, plus Jacklynn never missed breakfast. He realized the whispers and dirty looks that he could usually tune out or ignore were particularly burning on his skin today. He watched his feet as he went into the cafeteria and made his way into line.
The people in front of him shot him side eyed glances and scooted forward... people behind him left space enough for two more. He scowled...was he really so repulsive? Looking for a distraction, he looked around aimlessly as he waited in line. He could already tell Jacklynn wasnt here...but there was a reminder of her everywhere...
Decorations...streamers and flyers advertising the upcoming homecoming dance. Dib groaned...was it really just a pity date? This time of year did mark about two years since that night. Dib had asked her again last year...she said that she wasn't attending because of court obligations...but he was pretty sure that she had already been emancipated for months at that point... maybe it was a pity date...should he even try to ask again?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~Gaz

She huffed as she dodged slow moving bodies in the hall, her steel toed boots thudding on the tile. When she reached the bathroom, she flung open the door and went to the third stall. No one ever came into this bathroom anymore thanks to a rumor that there was a camera placed in a hole in the wall. There was in fact a hole, but no camera, the rumor started because it led into the janitors closet.

This suited Gaz, climbing up the toilet tank, she sat in the window well and pushed it open. Lighting a cigarette, she took a drag and relaxed. God her brother pissed her off.

She contemplated talking to her dad about it. He had been toying with the idea of sending Dib to military school...That may just be what he needed... hopefully then, Gaz would be able to salvage her high school years. She finished her cigarette within a few minutes, then lit another.

Second fix doing the trick, she hopoed down from the window, flushed her butts, spritzed on some perfume and headed for the door.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Zim
He followed Jack Lynn to this "office" it seemed to be the command cebter for the school. behind a half circle desk that seperated the room in half, sat two haggard looking female humans. Jack Lynn politely greeted them.
"Hello Mrs. S. I have a new student with me... he's my neighbor so i thought id help him out a bit."
The human looked up at Zim and nodded.
"What is the name?"
"Zim." He answered.
"And your last name Zim?"
He faltered...Irkens didnt use surnames...they were all seperated by class and assignment...he had to think...thats it!
"Rridaviniih"
The woman stoped typing and looked at him slowly. " Rrr ee dev in nii ih? Aaand...how do you spell that?'
Receiving information from his pak, he asked to write it. she passed him some post its and he scrawled it down.
" R e d a v n i...ok, here we go." She hit a key on her keyboard with a flourish and rolled herself to the table behind her where a machine had begun whirring. She opened a drawer there, and rifled through before pulling out a large envelope. She added the sheets the machine spit out and came back over. " Welcome to the school Zim. What we have here is your School ID, looks like we were given a ohoto of you already...your class schedule, school planner, and your locker assignment and combination. Oh, and here..." she pulled open a drawer and grabbed a few items. " a holder for your id, and lanyard to put it on. Jacklynn here will take good care of you. Speaking of... here hun."
she handed Jack Lynn a different badge. She took it looking puzzled.
"What's this? Student guide?"
" That will let you in and out of class late and early since you're going to be helping Zim around."
"Oh! Well I-"
" It won't effect your attendance, and you'll get volunteer credits to help you with that scholarship"
Jack Lynn's eyes brightened and she smiled.
" Thank you!"
Zim was impressed...she was concerned for attendance? and scholarships? She took her studies seriously then.
with that, Jack Lynn turned back to Zim and gestured for him to follow. As they went back into the hallway, they bearly collided with a smaller female...this one with purple fur.
~~~~~~~~~~~~Jacklynn

Today was definitely on an upstroke! volunteer credits were hard to come by. Jacklynn was contemplating how she would describe this in her school resume, when she nearly fell head first into Gaz.

The purple haired girl cursed, pulling a fist back before she realized who it was.

"Oh, Jack...what the hell man? Why didn't you walk with ne this morning? I had to walk with Dib."

"Sorry, I was a tad late, I had some stuff go down...long story... This is Zim, my new neighbor. He's not from here so I'll be showing him around. Zim, this is my friend Gaz."

Gaz looked at Zim, and Jacklynn noticed her expression change as she took him in...yeah, the green was oretty noticable. He resembled a renaissance piece with the green underpainting showing through the glaze.

"Hi Zim...so were you the one walking with Jack today?" she held out her hand to shake his, which he took...again, not shaking, just holding her hand a moment and letting go ...and again he wioed his hand on his shirt.

" Many greeting Gaz. Yes, Zim travelled with Jack Lynn."

Gaz's eyes widened. "Whoa...you really aren't from around here are you?"

Zim seemed to cringe a bit. "Eh...yes Homeland of Zim is far from here. Jack Lynn will educate Zim."

Gaz turned to Jacklynn and...gave her a knowing smirk? Did she catch that right?

"Jack will do good for you Zim. She's brainy as hell after all. So are we going to get some grub, or what?"

Without waiting for an answer, Gaz statted towards the cafeteria and they both followed.
