Chapter Twenty:First Mission

Turning to her side while opening her eyes. The bedside was empty. She leaned up to find a note. She frowned. Hoping Liandrin would stay with her until she woke up.
Don't fret my flower. I went to the markets. I shall be back soon. -Liandrin
Alessia smiled at the note before sitting up to stretch. Last night was a very emotional night. Especially now that her senses were heightened again. She was just glad Liandrin was understanding. Though this was definitely the woman she wanted to keep. Their arms around each other felt perfect. She got out of bed and went to change into a new white Accepted dress. Sitting down as she brushed her hair and sighed a little. Putting it half way up. She didn't have the energy to put her hair up all the way. Grabbing the book Moiraine had given her long ago and left her room. She opened her book while walking down the hallways slowly. Not wanting to bump into anyone while her face was in the book. That did not last long.
"Alessia!" The familiar shout of Alanna made her smile as she lowered her book.=
"Alanna Sedai!" Alessia smiled as she gave the woman in green a bow.
"There are some new moves I want to teach you! Sadly you are off today but what do you say? Let's have some fun?" Alanna asked as Alessia nodded her head.
"Also, the letters were sent out, Moiraine sent you a gift in my letter and asked me to give it to you." Alanna spoke as Alessia raised a brow. She thought the woman in blue had forgotten about today. Alanna took Alessia's left hand and placed a silver band with a small sapphire gem in it on her index finger. It was gorgeous! She smiled at the ring as her heart swelled at the sight of it.
"Oh, thank you Alanna Sedai!" Alessia smiled while looking at the ring. "I thought we weren't allowed to wear jewelry?" She asked.
"Novices cannot. Neither can Accepted unless from an Aes Sedai." Alanna spoke. "Happy Name Day dear!" The woman in green added as Alessia gave her a hug. "Remember to thank Moiraine whenever you see her again." Alanna added as Alessia nodded her head while following the woman down the stairs to go outside to the gardens. Seeing no one else around as Alanna turned to face her. Alessia could see Tarna leaning against a pillar smirking at her. Alessia rolled her eyes at her friend before following Alanna in the movements. She felt her heart beat fast as she was smiling. Loving the feeling of freedom in the dance again. She began to channel. Feeling the Source surround her body as she followed Alanna in the steps. Yes, she was definitely loving this green ajah now. She was fun to be around.
They had been at it for a little over an hour now as Alessia felt the sweat on her forehead before she wiped it away.
"Let's call it for now." Alanna spoke as Alessia nodded her head. Watching the woman in green leave before Tarna came up to her. Alessia bowed to her before linking arms and was led away from everyone.
"I wanted to teach you yesterday but it seemed you were occupied all day." Tarna spoke in a teasing voice. Alessia nudged her and chuckled before she realized they were going down to the basement again. They came upon a door.
"Gentle." Tarna spoke as it was unlocked and opened. She followed her friend into the large arena-like room again. There were some reds in there today. They were dueling each other. Practicing against each other.
"Today I am going to teach you two weaves. Stunning and shielding one from the Source." Tarna spoke as Alessia gave her a raised brow.
"I thought it was too advanced for Accepted?" Alessia asked as Tarna smirked at this.
"Yes, but we agreed to teach you nonetheless. We want you prepared." Tarna spoke as Alessia nodded her head. She was going to finally learn how to shield another and stun. She was rather excited. She couldn't help the feeling of it as she felt a tug in her chest and smiled at the feeling. Liandrin could feel her.
"Take your stance. Shield up." Tarna instructed as Alessia nodded. She channeled up her shield. She was getting better at this. She smiled as Tarna threw wind and fire at her. "Your shields are strong. Battle ready." The woman in red spoke before Alessia felt a sharp pain as her body could no longer move. She fell to the ground and grunted in pain. Then she was released. Alessia stood up quickly and nodded.
"Stunning is a combination of Spirit, air, water, and a touch of fire. Stunning is painful if you use the full force of it." Tarna spoke as she slowly began to weave. Alessia kept her eyes on the weave. It was four elements at once! No wonder it was advanced.
"You have to pull the element quickly if you want to stun your opponent. Focus on weaving first." Tarna spoke as she redid the weave. Alessia nodded and started to channel air and water first. Spirit was a tad harder for her since it comes from your own body. Grabbing the moisture from the air. She was weaving them all together. The elements were fighting each other as a spark ignited in her face. She yelped and jumped back.
"You need to make the elements work together. Again." Tarna instructed. Alessia closed her eyes and inhaled. Channeling again. Slowly pulling the element threads from the earth. She weaved them together. This time there was less fighting.
"Now try stunning me. Throw your weave at me." Tarna spoke. Alessia frowned at this. "Come on now. What would happen if you hesitated at a male channeler?" Tarna spoke. Alessia growled at this and threw her weave at Tarna who fell over and grunted. Alessia smiled at this before going to help her friend up.
"Not bad for the first time! Again!" The woman in red spoke. Alessia nodded. Pulling the elements again to weave. They fought against her less and less. Alessia managed to cause Tarna pain from the stun the eighth time she weaved.
"Good! Now, you need to practice that weave more. Make it go faster. Maybe one day you can use a single hand stun like Liandrin Sedai." Tarna spoke. Alessia blushed at this. She did not know her Liandrin could stun with a single hand!
"Now! Shielding is a complex weave using spirit. Just spirit." Tarna spoke as she weaved quickly. Alessia did not have a chance to react as she fell to her knees. Grunting while trying to reach the Source.
"It is frustrating but useful when facing an opponent. Especially male channelers. It does not cut one from the Source but prevents one from reaching it to use it." Tarna explained as Alessia nodded her head. Feeling the shield release as she felt like she breathed air for the first time again. She stood up and brushed her dress off. "Watch." Her friend spoke as Alessia stood next to her. It was a weave made of only spirit. The one element she struggled with. Seeing the weave twice before attempting it herself. It took energy from her. She felt her stamina drain rather quickly.
"I forgot to mention, the shielding will drain you of energy. Which is why we usually travel in three to four when going to find male channelers." Tarna spoke. Alessia nodded to show she understood.
"Remember the false dragon Logain?" Her friend asked.
"Yes." Alessia spoke.
"He was channeling a lot and was already lost to madness. The further they are lost, the harder it is to subdue." Tarna spoke as Alessia frowned at this. "Which is why we travel together. We are finished today. Practice those weaves." Tarna smiled and patted Alessia's shoulder. She bowed to her friend before taking her leave. Carrying the book in her hand once she picked it back up. Heading up the stairs as she made it back outside to the garden. It was bright and sunny outside. She felt a sudden surge of excitement and looked around. Liandrin was not back yet. That feeling was not coming from her but from her favorite Sedai. She would have to make a mental note to ask about it. She sat down while soaking up the sun against her face. Eyes closed as the warmth washed over her. She was smiling now.
"Alessia!" Egwene's voice came as she came back to reality. Egwene and Nynaeve were quickly walking up to her. She gave them a confused look. She felt a sudden prideful feeling. She looked over to her right and felt her heart race. Liandrin was back! She wanted to hug the woman in red before her two friends sat on both sides of her.
"So. We asked Alanna to help us with something and got you this!" Nynaeve spoke while pulling out something wrapped in cloth. Alessia took it and unwrapped it. It was a honey cake! Alessia gasped and jumped up. Giving both of them a hug.
"Thank you! I haven't had these in forever!" She gasped. Breaking off a few pieces to share before taking a bite. A rush of warm honey and bread had filled her mouth.
"Mmmm." Was all Alessia could say. The sweet taste made her close her eyes and moan softly from the taste. Hearing a giggle from Egwene as Alessia opened her eyes as her friends were smiling non stop at her.
"What?" Alessia asked with a raised brow. They shook their heads as Alessia rolled her eyes at them before smiling again. "Thank you. Both of you. I really loved it." Alessia spoke as they both stood up. Alessia hugged them both at the same time. It was a three way hug again. For whatever the future had in store for them. She was glad they were there by her side.
"So, where did you go?" Egwene asked as she pulled back from the hug.
"Well, Alanna Sedai taught me some more moves for the dance. Tarna Sedai taught me two more weaves to use." Alessia spoke. Egwene gasped and jumped up and down a few times.
"Could you teach me?" Egwene asked.
"I would have to ask the Mistress of Novices if it's alright. It's technically more advanced for an Accepted to be using. Even though I am struggling with it." Alessia admitted. Nynaeve faked and gasped at her. Alessia raised a brow again.
"Alessia having trouble with a weave? I never thought I'd live to see this day!" Nynaeve shouted. Alessia rolled her eyes again.
"Don't be so dramatic Nynaeve!" Alessia spoke as her friend busted out laughing. She felt a warm tug in her chest as she looked over. Liandrin motioned for her.
"I'll talk to you both later alright?" Alessia asked as they nodded. She waved them goodbye before following the woman in red. She was humming softly while following Liandrin up the stairs. They were on the red floor now. There was no one around. 'Weird.' Alessia thought as she felt her hand grabbed and pulled.
"Whoa!" Alessia spoke as she was now in Liandrin's room. She felt her body pressed against the wall and her lips attacked. Alessia smiled and wrapped her arms around Liandrin's waist and held her close. Returning the kiss in a fiery passion that roared in her chest.
"Well, hello there." Alessia spoke as she was catching her breath. Her face is full of red now. Liandrin smirked and stole a kiss before backing up. Slowly pulling her tunic off. Alessia's eyes went wide and blushed deeply again. Her breath was stolen again. The woman in red was slowly taking her clothes off as Alessia moved forward. Gently grabbing Liandrin's hips. She felt her wrists grabbed as she was then spun and thrown onto the bed. Alessia grunted at the sudden movement.
"Liandrin are you?" Alessia began to ask as she was cut off by another kiss. There was lust in the older woman's eyes. Then it hit her. Alessia felt the throb between her legs and blushed. That feeling was not from her but it was clear. A moan escaped her lips as Liandrin straddled her waist. Alessia could not help but stare at the beautiful woman on top of her. She began to have tunnel vision as the sunlight had rays shining on Liandrin. Showing off her honey hair. Alessia gripped Liandrin's thighs as her breath was gone. "Use your words my love." Liandrin whispered into her ear. Alessia gulped and then nodded. She wanted nothing more than to make this woman happy.
"I want to worship you." Alessia spoke. She blushed at the words that came out of her mouth. Liandrin smiled and flipped them. Alessia was now on top as she leaned in. Kissing the soft skin against the older woman's neck. Hearing a soft moan escape her lips.
"Take that dress off." Liandrin spoke. It was not a request. Alessia nodded and disposed of the dress she was wearing. She leaned back in and bit Liandrin's neck. Feeling nails gripped her hips as the woman in red dug her nails into her skin tightly. Alessia took advantage of this and bit her neck to leave a small mark.
"Worship me my flower." Liandrin spoke in a sultry voice. This made Alessia shiver with pleasure.
"With pleasure." Alessia whispered into Liandrin's ear before trailing kisses down the woman's body. Caressing every inch she could reach with her hands. She managed to with a single hand, pulled Liandrin's bra off. She leaned up to take in the sight. One of the strongest red ajah, she had her underneath her. She smiled at the thought before taking a hardened nipple into her mouth right away. Alessia gasped as she felt her own body react to it.
"Perks of the bond my love." Liandrin moaned while tangling her fingers through Alessia's hair. She blushed. Using her tongue to twirl around the bump. Using her right hand to knead her other breast. "Which weaves did you learn today?" Liandrin asked, making conversation.
"Stunning and shielding one from the Source." Alessia replied.
"Good. Your shielding is better and stronger. We'll make a red ajah out of you." Liandrin spoke with confidence. Alessia chuckled at this. She felt eyes on her as she looked up to the red ajah.
"I know you still have a while before choosing but I want you to be red, my love." Liandrin spoke softly. Alessia only smiled and gave the older woman a loving kiss before sitting up.
"So, when do I get my necklace back?" She asked while changing the subject. Liandrin rolled her eyes and sat up. Kissing Alessia's bare shoulder before reaching over to her side table. Alessia smiled and felt the necklace placed around her neck. That beautiful red flower pendant. Her eyes shifted as she saw Liandrin weaving. Seeing the streams of the weave surround her neck. Her necklace to be specific.
"What was that?" Alessia asked with a raised brow.
"A following weave." Liandrin replied.
"We're bonded." Alessia spoke.
"It's just in case my love. So I know where you are at all times just in case." Liandrin explained. Alessia nodded and gave the woman another loving kiss before getting dressed. The sun was still up.
"Going somewhere?" Liandrin asked.
"I want to walk around the city a little." Alessia spoke as she fixed her hair. Smiling at Liandrin as the woman got dressed as well.
"I'm coming with you." She spoke like Alessia didn't have a choice.
"Good. I wouldn't want anyone else coming with me." Alessia spoke. She put her white books on and smiled. "I need to grab a cloak." Alessia spoke. She couldn't use her red one so she was forced to use the white one Accepted were given. Liandrin nodded.
"Meet me by the Tower's entrance." The woman in red spoke as Alessia nodded her head before taking her leave.
She finally had her cloak and tucked her coin purse inside of the cloak pocket before making her way out of the Tower. Seeing Liandrin leaning against the wall. She was wearing a black cloak. Once their eyes met, Alessia felt her breath stolen again. She could not help but smile at the woman in red.
"Are you going to keep stealing my breath while standing there or are we going?" Liandrin asked as Alessia chuckled at her.
"I thought it was you doing that." Alessia spoke as she made her way out. Looking around and smiling. Inhaling the fresh air. She could feel Liandrin looking at her a few times while looking around the buildings. Alessia then felt nervous. Her own doing. Feeling an arm wrapped around her shoulder as she was led into an alleyway.
"You alright my flower? I can feel you." Liandrin asked while trying to catch Alessia's eyes. Tucking a stray strand behind Alessia's ear.
"Did I um. Do I make you happy?" Alessia asked. Obviously from earlier. Feeling her chin lifted as their eyes met. Liandrin was smiling at her.
"This may be a shock but I will tell you. This is my first time bonding with someone. I would have never done it unless I was absolutely sure." Liandrin spoke. Alessia felt her heart racing at this and smiled. "You make me happy Alessia. It's not the pleasure that does. Though it was amazing. The bond does intensify the feelings. But what makes me happy is that I can have you in my arms. Calling you mine. That you belong to me, makes me happy." Liandrin spoke. Alessia felt a warm fuzzy feeling in her stomach and smiled. Yep. She was definitely in love with this woman. It was showing. She could feel Liandrin's cheeks flush while resting her forehead against her own.
"I love you, Alessia." Liandrin spoke softly as Alessia smiled. Taking the woman's hands into her own and kissing them.
"I love you too." Alessia replied. Seeing a relief in Liandrin's eyes before taking the lead again.
"Wait here. I will be back in a moment." Liandrin spoke as Alessia nodded. Watching the woman in red leave into a building real quick. Alessia looked around and saw a girl selling roses. Red roses. Alessia went up to the girl and bought one.
"Thank you miss!" The girl shouted and dashed off. She chuckled while feeling a hand touch her back. She turned as the older woman was back. Alessia hid the rose and allowed Liandrin to guide her through the stone walkways
"Thank you." Alessia spoke with a smile. Seeing the woman in red raise a brow at her.
"For what?" Liandrin asked.
"For today. For everything." She smiled as they made their way back to the Tower. "It's my first time out since I became a Novice." Alessia spoke. She could feel Liandrin's emotions as she smiled. Wrapping an arm around her shoulders while entering the Tower. Once inside, Alessia looked around and gently pushed the woman in red against the wall. There was a confused look upon her face as Alessia kissed her deeply. Pouring her love into the kiss before pulling back.
"What was that?" Liandrin asked as Alessia pulled the rose from behind her and handed it to the older woman. Liandrin was speechless and chuckled. Kissing Alessia's cheek.
"It's your name day my love." Liandrin finally spoke as Alessia shrugged.
"Exactly. I get to do what I want and I wanted to give you that flower." Alessia smiled. It was a well earned nickname after all. "Come. I want to sleep with you tonight. Assuming I can keep my hands to myself." Alessia added. Giving Liandrin a smirk before taking her leave. The woman in red followed her. It had been a long day. Uneventful as it was, they were stopped by Tsutama. Alessia bowed to the woman in red.
"Liandrin. There has been another run away. I assume you are up to the task?" The red leader asked as Liandrin nodded and bowed.
"Take this Accepted with you. Have her get a feeling of what we do." Tsutama spoke while eyeing Alessia.
"It would be an honor, Tsutama Sedai." Alessia spoke with a smile.
"Good. You both leave tonight. Make it quick. The girl is only a town over." Tsutama spoke. "Take Tarna Sedai with you. Can't be too careful now these days." The red ajah spoke before taking her leave.
"Well, looks like you got your first mission. How do you feel?" Liandrin asked while taking the lead to the Accepted floor part of the Tower.
"Since it's with you, I am excited!" Alessia spoke while quickling packing her bag and followed Liandrin to the red floor. Alessia knocked on her friend's door. It took a moment before Tarna answered it. Seeing her friend wrap a robe around herself while looking at them.
"We are wanted on a mission. Bringing back a girl who ran." Liandrin spoke as Tarna smirked before disappearing into her room. Alessia pushed the door open and let herself inside. Smirking while looking around.
"Enjoying yourself?" Tarna asked as she was caught. Alessia nodded and smiled. Watching her friend pack a single outfit before blowing out a candle. She finally got to see what was inside her friend's room before following her out. Closing the door behind her.
"What's the girl's name?" Tarna asked as she mounted a horse. Alessia mounted behind Liandrin.
"She didn't say." Liandrin replied. Alessia frowned. There were only five Novices now. Wondering why this girl would run away from the Tower. Feeling the horses gallop from the city as they exited from the gates. Alessia could feel the wind against her hair and cloak as she tightened her grip around Liandrin's waist. Hearing a chuckle from her in the wind. Alessia rolled her eyes before looking around.
"Are you practicing those weaves at all from today?" Tarna asked as Alessia shook her head. "Why?" Her friend asked. Alessia felt a small hint of nervousness.
"Breath my love. You are alright. I trust Tarna." Liandrin spoke. Seeing her friend raise a brow at them. Alessia blushed and looked to the side. They had a couple hour ride to the village.
"Wait. Are you two?" Tarna asked.
"Yes." Liandrin replied.
"About damn time! I was begging the Light to make it happen!" Tarna laughed.
"Shuddup or I will shield you." Alessia grumped as this made her friend laugh even harder. Alessia rolled her eyes before sighing.
"Well, looks like we have another red for sure." Tarna added.
"Don't be so sure! I was leaning towards blue!" Alessia teased her friend who glared at her. Hearing Liandrin chuckle at this.
"I hope not! Shielding is definitely your thing." Tarna added. Alessia nodded.
"Well, I still have to take lessons from the other colors first for my test. Which won't be for a long time from my understanding." Alessia spoke. Tarna nodded but shrugged.
"Depends." She spoke. Alessia raised a brow at her.
"What do you mean?" Alessia asked. Tarna shook her head. Alessia decided to push that thought to the back of her head. They rode the rest of the way in silence. It was not long after as they saw the lights of the village. They slowed down while making their way inside the gates. Alessia was looking around while seeing people in their homes and shutting their windows. Closing the blinds. Alessia frowned.
"The Aes Sedai are not welcomed here." A man spoke as Alessia turned to face him.
"We come to bring back one of our Novices." Liandrin spoke. Her head was tilted up as she looked down on the man.
"If a girl ran away, then so be it. The way of the Aes Sedai is not for everyone." The man spoke.
"She signed her name. She is bound to the Tower." Alessia spoke.
"You dare speak to me, little girl?" The man shot at her. 'Little girl?' Alessia felt anger rise in her. Feeling her hands clenched into fists.
"Calm Alessia." Liandrin spoke as Alessia took a deep breath. "Let us have her and we will be on our way." Liandrin added.
"Ha! You and what army?" The man asked as more men showed up by his side. Alessia started to feel uneasy. How she hated men like them. She could feel Liandrin's hatred for men as they were silent.
"I said. The Aes Sedai are not welcomed here." The man repeated himself.
"Give us the girl and we will be on our way." Tarna spoke finally.
"The White cloaks came and took her!" A woman spoke as Alessia turned to look towards the voice.
"Woman get back in the house where you belong!" The same man shouted at her.
"That way!" The woman pointed as the man hit her. Alessia about to hop off as Liandrin stopped her.
"It's not our business. We need to go." She spoke as Alessia frowned. Seeing the village get smaller and smaller behind her before looking back up front. They followed a trail into the forest. It was now very dark outside but they could hear them. It was a smaller camp. Dismounting their horses as they hide along the edge of the camp in the shadows. Alessia scanned the area and frowned. Trying to find out what was going on.
"We need to locate her." Tarna spoke as Alessia nodded her head. She knelt down behind a bush as a man walked past them.
"Take the girl to the post." A voice shouted. Alessia frowned and looked around. Hearing an ear piercing scream as it caught their attention. A girl was being burned at the stake.
"Burn witch, burn!" A few voices shouted.
"Nissa!" Alessia hissed as the smell of burnt flesh reached her nose.
