There is some original dialogue from revival S11 E 9. I also crossed referenced the original script. Mulder was supposed to have a tie on so Scully could pull on it. And I LOVED that. So I put it in.
He felt the heat from the candles on his arm as she tugged at the bottom of his tie forcing him down to meet her lips with his ear. This was it. This was everything he had been waiting for.
His skin pricked as her hot breath tickled his ear, "I can't wait for you to take me home. Our home," she said.
Mulder hesitated for a moment. Making sure his brain received the right message then pulled away from her whisper. His eyes searched her face, he needed to see if what she said was real. He tilted his head, she mimicked it.
A tiny smirk appeared and her eyes sparkled at her confession, "This isn't my four year old self looking for a miracle. This is my leap of faith forward, and I want to do this together."
Together.
"I always wondered how this would turn out," Mulder said, then lit a candle. He didn't pray of course, but he figured he could use all the help he could get. He wasn't going to mess this up. It would be them together from here on out.
"Let's go home Mulder," Scully said, taking his hand and intertwining her fingers in his.
Mulder smiled as they exited the church, together.
