Chapter five: the second chance

Christine, Anne, Phil and Stella walked into the Dance room where they saw Roy Gardener at the punch table, tapping his foot nervously as if he were waiting for Anne to come back.

Then he Spotted them, he gave a smile. "Anne, Christine! and Anne aren't these your friends Phil and Stella?" Anne said "Yes" as sweetly as she could without showing grief.

"Now I was wondering Anne, if I could have a dance with you?"

Anne looked at him blankly. "I'm sorry Roy but I have to head to the outhouse, plus Me Phil and Stella were going to do something. but maybe after you can ask me deal?"

Roy looked a little taken aback but nodded. "Deal" Anne took the opportunity: "However since you asked me, I will say yes and give the dance to Christine, I hope you don't mind."

Roy looked at Christine who was smiling kindly. "Okay then Mrs. Stuart." and with that Roy led Christine to the damce floor, Christine gave Anne a wink.

Phil and Stella started walking away. Phil turned for a moment. "Go Get Gilbert Girl! haha! get it? Go Get Gilbert Girl? GGGG! hahaha!"

Anne Laughed at her joke, and began searching for Gilbert.

It didn't take long for Anne to find Him, he was out sitting on a Garden bench looking up at the sky.

She cleared her throat, Gilbert lashed his head around to see Anne standing there looking at him, 'At Him' and she looked Gorgeous, and she was still holding the Lilies of the Valley that he gave her.

"Hello Anne." Gilbert said, smiling at her.

"Hello Gil." Anne said in a tone that was-Flirtatious in a way? no it couldn't be, flirting wasn't her nature, but she did Give him a very warm smile that made him feel like melting right through.

Gilbert Gulped silently. "Soo, what do you want Anne? shouldn't you be with Roy?"

Anne raised an Eyebrow. "Roy? Roy?!" Anne Giggled gently which made butterflies flutter in his stomach. "No, Roy is dancing with Christine Gil, it was you I wanted to talk to." It was Gilbert's turn to raise an eyebrow. "Really? what for?"

Anne appeared to be blushing. "Well I will only tell you if you ask me to walk with you in the Garden."

Gilbert let this sink in, He nodded: "okay then, Anne would you care for a stroll in the Garden?" he pointed his hand towards the Deeper part of the Garden.

Anne Smiled at him. "Yes I would, thank you."

Gilbert took her Arm, And they walked deeper into the garden.

Anne and Gilbert finally sat on the garden bench. it was silent, Gilbert wondered why Anne was so quiet, she usually always talked when they were on walks like this.

Finally Gilbert broke the Silence. "Soo Ho are things with Roy?"

"Roy? oh yes, that is something I should tell you." Anne said

"I don't love him, I'm going to reject him tomorrow."

Gilbert gasped "You don't love him?

"No" Anne said

"So what are you going to do now that you're giving up on Roy?"

"Well, I Intend to Write a book, Write a story on the Paper, and Finally-Get Married."

Anne said her last goal quietly, and looking up at him.

Gilbert felt heat coursing through his body. "And who is that?" he asked calmly.

"Oh a certain boy." Anne said as she slid her Arms under his. "With hazel eyes, A troublemakers Grin, and Curly hair."

"Gee I wonder who that is." Gilbert said Quietly

"Mhmm" Anne said before their lips met,

after a few minutes of silent kissing, they pulled Apart, Gasping for Air. "I Love you Gilbert." Anne whispered. "I love you Anne." Gilbert breathed back.

they kissed again.

After they pulled away, Anne said "I realized I loved you, not ten minutes ago, from a certain dance, and a Conversation with Christine Stuart."

"Really?" Gilbert breathed Brushing her cheek with his fingertips.

"Mhmm" was all she said before she Kissed him again.
