Chapter 4
We're the kind of people
Who will always love each other.
At this point. Me and Lucas had been divorced 5 years now.
Keith was 12. Robert was 8. Sadie was 6. When we sat them down in the living room of Brooke's childhood home which became our family home when Brooke brought it back from her parents.
Just the mention of a divorce. Made Keith burst into tears.
He was old enough to know what that meant and ended up just rushing off to his bedroom.
For Robert and Sadie being as young as they were.
We needed to explain it in a way they understood that wouldn't cause them to be hurt or confused.
The rule we made about dating was simply that our kids wouldn't meet anyone unless it got serious.
And so far our children haven't met anyone we've dated.
People change grow evolve. That doesn't mean feelings do.

Matilda McFadden. Smiled happily as she put on her boyfriend Keith Scott's jacket.
Keith kissed her before leaving the table to get back in line.
"The two of you almost make me want to try the whole being a couple thing." Julie Jagielski said. As she sat down beside her best friend.
"He's the best. I got really lucky." Matilda replied.

"I worry too. But I know it's important that he knows we trust him." Lucas replied.
