Chapter 10
I remember everything.
You let go. Just like always.
Damn it. He was so cute in the morning. Let's be real. It's hard for me to take my eyes off of him at all. Brooke thought to herself.
Touching his face with her hand. She hadn't expected for him to wake up. And take her hand. Kissing it gently.
"You've been awake all this time.?" Brooke asked.
"Not long. You still sleep all spread out." Lucas said.
"Are we going to talk about this.?" Lucas asked.
"Can't we just forget this. It shouldn't of happened." Brooke replied.
"You regret it.?" Lucas asked.
"No. I'm not saying that. I would never regret what we shared."
"In the past. Last night. It's all so complicated and confusing." Brooke stated matter of fact.
"You don't love me." Lucas said. The expression on his face softening.
"I do love you. It's not that simple."
"You know that." Brooke replied.
"You should get ready first." Brooke insisted.
I had to put in alot of effort to get out of bed this morning. I mean if you've woken up next to someone who couldn't keep their hands off of you. Then you understand what i'm talking about.
Last night wasn't me trying to recapture the past.
The last thing i want is to go back there. Let's just say i wasn't the best version of myself back then.
As a dad i poured so much of myself into that. Once my career started to take off. Things changed. And not for the better. I had success. Yet my relationship was falling apart.
I played a part in the decline of our marriage. But we didn't get to that at once.
A snapshot of our family in happier times. Hung right there in my car. While i drove. I like remembering the moments of happiness and joy because there were alot.
"Did you have fun at aunt Haley and uncle Nathan's wedding celebration.?" Sadie asked. As she got into the passenger seat of her dad's car.
"Why didn't you go with you're brothers.?" Lucas asked.
"And i did. They went all out. As you should and if you can." Lucas replied.
"Normally momma takes me to school. But since i stayed at you're house this time i wanted to go with you." Sadie explained.
