Tried Our Best
Chapter 13
Tears in our eyes from holding too tight
Did you ever really love me?
Did you ever really want me?
Was it just smoke and mirrors?
"I know it seems like alot of information at first. But once you go through this a couple times."
"You'll figure out what works best for you." Brooke explained.
"Did you like our girl's day.?" Brooke asked.
A smile went across Sadie's face. "It made me feel better. Plus i like it when we spent time together. Just us." She replied.
"I do too. I love you goodnight." Brooke said. Leaning over to kiss her cheek.
"Am i too old for the purple monkey now?" Sadie asked.
"Never. The same goes for you're dollhouse. Just because you're growing up doesn't nean you have to give up what you like and love." Brooke replied.
Before leaving the bedroom. She was surprised to find Lucas in the entryway when she came down the stairs to turn off and put things away.
"I used my key. I figured you wouldn't want to wait." Lucas said.
"You're right i don't. How did the talk with Keith go.?" Brooke asked.
"He was honest with me and i don't think we have anything to worry about or stress over. If and when that happens for them."
"They are acting like responsible young adults. Which means you can relax." Lucas reassured her.
"I'll take you're word for it."
"You didn't tell anyone what happened between us right?" Brooke asked.
"I wouldn't do that. And i don't think we should be getting close like that again. Until we figure out what exactly is going on between us." Lucas explained.
"We are best friends. And co parents. Two adults who enjoy each other sometimes. There is no reason to make it more then that." Brooke replied.
"I don't care about the sex. Honestly i could do without it."
"I want you're heart. And that you have under lock and key." Lucas proclaimed.
"I choose you. I went against my better judgement. My parents and I ever having a relationship. I was supposed to be more then this."
"Running my store in the town i grew up in."
"Just for our marriage to fall apart and you want to act like that never happened!"
"It's not my fault that you're stuck and consumed with the past."
"People can grow and change. But clearly you aren't capable of either. And maybe you aren't even the worth effort." Lucas said. Before leaving the home.
Brooke let out a frustrated sigh. As she locked up and turned on the security system.
