"Among other things, yeah. But we got him back safely. What are you doing here?"
Tony ignoring Steve's question, got out of the car, and walked around to the back.
"That's the EPR Paradox. Instead of pushing Lang through time, you might've wound up pushing time through Lang. Something you should be familiar with. It's tricky. Dangerous. It's a miracle he's still alive. Somebody should've cautioned you against it."
"You did."
"Oh, did I?" Tony feigned, acting with his familiar sarcasm that Steve knew all too well. "Thank God I'm here. Regardless, I fixed it." He held up his right hand, with a small handheld device on it. "A fully functioning Time-Space GPS. I just want peace." Tony explained whilst making a peace sign with his fingers.
"Turns out, resentment is corrosive, and I hate it."
"Me too." Steve sighed.
"We got a shot at getting these stones, but I gotta tell you my priorities: Bring back what we lost? I hope, yes. Keep what I got? I have to, at all costs. And... maybe not die trying will be nice."
"Sounds like a deal." Steve reached out his hand to shake in the deal, in which Tony responded in kind, no longer looking down at Steve…metaphorically.
Tony reached back into the trunk of the car to pull something else out. Something Steve hadn't seen in almost a decade. The last remnant of an avenger long gone, Captain America's Shield. Steve hesitated, the shield feeling almost taboo.
"Tony..."
"Don't tell me it's too heavy for you Rogers. Take it, honestly I have to get it out of the garage before Morgan takes it sledding. Besides, he made it for you."
With that bittersweet reminder, Steve fit his arm into the shield. It did indeed weigh heavier then he remembered but it was a familiar weight. A weight he carried for almost 80 years and one that he was proud to carry on his shoulders.
"Thank you, Tony."
"Will you keep that a little quiet? Didn't bring one for the whole team. [Hesitates] ...We are getting the whole team, yeah?"
"We're working on that right now."
And with that the previously fractured avengers were starting to heal together ready for the final mission.
