Chapter 20
Lucas erased what he had typed and had keep himself from throwing everything off his desk.
How was he expected to work when he was too distracted and couldn't write anything that made sense?
Lucas knew he had to get out of this office. He cancelled what he had for the day and pushed it all back for a later time.
"So i know you said you would get back to me. But i'm not exactly a wait and see kind of person. Plus i wanted to thank you for even giving it some thought."
"Dinner on me tonight." Alex explained.
"Instead of that. Why not book a room at one of the hotel's in town?" Lucas suggested.
"Don't you want me to stay with you?" Alex asked.
"Actually i don't. I'm sorry you're in this position but i can give you some help with jobs until you're able to get hired for another acting role?"
"I know that career has periods where the actors need other sources of income. Why did you get fired anyway.?" Lucas asked.
"That doesn't really matter now. I thought we were friends." Alex said.
"We are friends. Just because you can't live with me doesn't change that." Lucas replied.
"I know you don't like being alone. I get that. And i feel bad about it."
"How about i set a timeline. Once that happens. I'll go." Alex suggested.
