Days Later
As the doors opened at dismissal time. Children made their way to the school bus. Started walking home. Or made their way towards awaiting cars.
Sadie scanned the lines of cars in the carpool.
Expecting her mom's car. Surprised to see her dad instead.
She went over to the passenger seat and opened the door.
"Dad you're picking me up today. Where's momma.?" Sadie asked.
As she got in the car taking off her backpack.
"I cleared it with her. I meant what i said about wanting to repair what is disconnected between us."
"How about we spend the weekend together.? Anything and everything you want. It's Friday. School is done."
"Where are we going?" Lucas asked.
"You mean it. Just us. What about work?" Sadie asked.
"I have today and the whole weekend off. Just us." Lucas reassured her.
Sadie smiled. "The Children's musuem. Then can we go to that burger place.?" She questioned.
"Just tell me where to go. And once we're done."
"We'll head home. And I want you to pick out a room. That you can stay in." Lucas announced.
