"My name is Henry. This is a story about something scary that happened to me, but I was able to protect myself. Still, I was rather lucky."

"It happened when I was home by myself one night at my family apartment. The rest of my family was out for the day, so I only had to feed myself tonight. The problem was that my parents have four kids. That means there's a lot of mouths to feed around here, and that meant there wasn't much food. My mother didn't have a chance to go shopping either. So, I took some money I had and decided to go out to get something to eat."

Henry was home alone, but there wasn't much to eat. That's why he decided to go out and get something, but it was dark out there. A lot can happen in the dark.

"I knew a great place where I could get a decent meal just about a block from my apartment, but I knew a shortcut. It required me passing through an alleyway. That might not be a good idea, like what they do on T.V., but I figured I get in and get out through there if I move quickly. That's just what I did. I made my way through the alleyway, but there was actually someone down on the other end."

Henry tried to move quickly to get some food. He wanted to pass right through an alleyway as a shortcut, but there was a problem. There was a man there and that could be a problem depending on what kind of man that is.

"The man I saw didn't really do anything. He just faced the wall and I don't think he noticed me. I just assumed I could walk around him and then just go home the long way. I just tried to move as fast as I could before he even noticed I was there. I was almost through, but that was when my instincts kicked in."

Henry tried making his way around the man he saw. He thought he could just slip around him. Henry was almost through until something in his head was alerting him of danger.

"I turned around and saw the man coming at me with a knife. My reflexes kicked in and I tried to hold back his arm, but he was pressing down. I tried my best to try and keep him off me, but I could see the look on his face with a psychotic grin that. Luckily, I knew martial arts to help defend myself. The problem was that I was a bit of a pacifist. I didn't want to hurt this guy, but I just knew that if I don't do something, he might actually kill me."

The guy actually tried to attack Henry, but Henry used his training in martial arts to help protect himself. It is difficult since Henry doesn't like hurting people, but he might not have a choice in this.

"I swept his legs and threw him to the ground and tried to pinned him down. However, he kept fighting back. I tried to hold him down, but he wouldn't give up. He tried reaching for the knife again. It was like he wanted to kill me just for the thrill of it. I had no choice. First, I twisted his arm as hard as I could and caused him to drop the knife. After that, I had to hit him in the head a few times. He was stubborn and I had to keep going until my hand started hurt. Once it seemed like he was out of it, I took the knife and tossed it away."

Henry had no choice. He fought back or else he would have been killed. With his martial arts training, he was able to pin the guy to the floor and kept hitting him until he blacked out and disarmed the guy.

"When it seemed like the guy was down, I just turned around and went straight home. I lost my appetite after that and I've been a little shaken. My apartment building was just down the street until my instincts alerted me again. I turned around and saw he was coming back."

Henry was able to beat the guy, but he turned around and tried to get home. When it was close by, something in Henry's head told him he was in trouble once again. He turned around and saw the guy coming back. He looked even scarier with his face swollen.

"I saw him coming at me again and hurried straight to my building, but he chased after me. I was able to make it to the building entrance and tried to hold it down as the guy tried to get in. Luckily, the clerk at the entrance saw what was going on and called the police."

When Henry saw the guy coming for him, he ran straight for his building. Once he got there, he shut the main entrance to try and keep the guy out. It was a good thing he wasn't alone in there as someone called for help.

"I held on for as long as I could, but the police managed to arrive and grabbed the guy. After that, I called my parents and told them what happened. As soon as they heard about that, they hurried home as fast as they could and were just glad I was okay. That psycho was arrested and taken away. It was good I had my training to defend myself, but that was really difficult for me. I had to fight even though I don't really like it. If I had hesitated for a moment, I would be dead."
