"My name is Kari. After this experience, I can see why some people don't stop for hitchhikers."
"It happened when I was driving through an open road out on an opened field. The police were coming from behind me, so I simply moved to the side and let them through. I didn't know what they were after, but since the sirens were going off, I knew it had to be something important."
Kari was driving out and minding her own business. As she heard the police coming from behind her, she just simply moved to the side and let them pass her.
"After they went by, I kept on driving until I saw a pregnant lady who was in need of some help. I felt sorry for her and it seems like there was no one else around. I pulled over to the side and asked her if she needed any help. All she said was that she needed a ride. She came inside once I invited her in and let her ride with me."
Seeing a pregnant woman out in the road with nothing, Kari acted like a good person and helped her out. She let the lady in her car and was giving her a drive.
"I tried to strike some friendly conversation. I asked how along she was, if she knew the gender, but she was acting rather nervous. I also began to notice there was something off with her voice. She sounded a little groggy or something. As he drove along the road, I spotted the same police cars up ahead. It looked like they were looking for something."
"Keep going." The lady said.
"I looked back at my passenger and saw she seemed rather nervous about the police. I was going to pass anyway since they left half of the road opened for passing cars."
Kari could see police up ahead, but something was up with the lady. She seemed nervous for some reason, but Kari kept the car going.
"I tried to get another look at the lady, but then I noticed something. Her hair was actually a wig. That's when her facial features made her look more and more like a guy. I also took a look and spotted a small bit of what looked like a gun trying to be concealed. That was when I realized something. This was no pregnant lady, but a man that the police were probably looking for. That's when I began to fear for my life."
Kari now sees the truth of who her passenger is, and is helping a convicted criminal. If she isn't smart about this, she could get killed or be an associate of a criminal.
"I knew I had to do something while the police were still there, but I had to be careful so I don't get myself killed. That's why I slowed down and quickly tried to get out of there."
"What are you doing?" The criminal asked.
"I think we have a flat tire. I must have ran over something." Kari said as she quickly got out, but the criminal reached over and grabbed her by the arm.
"Get back in the car and keep driving!"
"I tried to get out of there, but he had a strong hold of my arm and I was afraid of what he was going to do. Luckily, I saw an officer coming over."
Kari had to do something or else she could get killed. She tried to slip out, but the criminal wouldn't let her go. However, there was an officer coming. This was her only chance.
"Help! He's got a gun!" Kari shouted to the officer. Once he heard that, he hurried right over.
"When I called to the police, the criminal pushed me out of the way and drove off with my car. I was just glad I got out of there."
Kari is lucky to be alive. The criminal just got rid of her and took her car so she could escape. Thank goodness the police were there to help her.
"After that happened, the police helped me out and made sure I got home. Eventually, I got my car back and everything was still in there. That guy must have left in a hurry, but he still managed to escape from the cops and could still be out there. After that, I will never stop for another hitchhiker again."
