The attack on the vineyard went perfectly. Amy and Tara blasted open the walls and from there blasted holes in the floor so sunlight shone down into the basement. Buffy and Faith led the charge, with Xander right behind them and a dozen armed Potentials behind him. The Potentials were shooting Bringers. Caleb stood at the end of the room.

"I've heard you have something of mine." Buffy said.

"Well I do and you're not going to get your hands on the Slayer's weapon." Xander tossed a uv grenade and blinded Caleb. The Potentials shot him. Over a dozen second and third degree burns had him screaming, but unfortunately, didn't kill him. As he collapsed and passed out, Buffy made it past him and found a trapdoor. She lifted it open and jumped down. A minute later she came back up, carrying a shiny new weapon. Xander shot Caleb with a handgun and hoped that, that finally killed him.

As they were leaving, he saw something carved on the wall, a symbol that looked familiar, but he couldn't place it. He'd figure it out later, they needed to get back to Crawford Mansion and figure out what that weapon was.

Once they were back, Xander sat thinking, something about the attack bothered him, but he couldn't figure out what it was.

"I'm gonna go on patrol, who wants to come with?" He asked. Several of the Potentials went with him. They came across a human fighting vampires and moved to help. The human knew what he was doing and even had a stake.

"Who are you?" Xander asked.

"Robin Woods. I'm the Principal at the new High School."

"You don't seem to have a problem with the vampires."

"I grew up knowing about them. My mother was a Slayer. Her name was Nikki Woods."

"New York Slayer, right? Killed by Spike, bleached blond freak we dusted a few years back. He liked to brag."

"Yeah, alot them do. And you are?"

"Xander Harris."

"Scooby Gang. I've been hearing about you. Actually, I could use your help. I found something in the basement of the school."

"Lead the way."

Xander and the Potentials followed Principal Wood to the school and down into the basement.

"What is that?!" Xander stared at the weird thing in the dug out floor.

"I don't know, but it had a dead body on it two days. Short, skinny guy in his late teens, early twenties. Someone carved him up pretty good. He was starting to stink, so he'd been here for awhile."

"That description fits a guy named Andrew Wells, we ran into a friend of his not too long ago with a gift for us. A kind of vampire thought to be a myth, a Turikhan."

"I've heard of them. What do you wanna bet, it came out of here."

"Nope. Come on, we need to report in, you can meet the rest of our people. I think I figured out something."

Back at the Mansion, Xander introduced Robin, explained about Andrew and asked where Buffy and Faith were.

"We found some information on the internet." Willow said. "Pagan stories that might explain that weapon. And evidence of a pagan temple outside of town. Buffy and Faith went to check it out."

"What do you want to bet, they aren't going to get very much. Amy, how many Bringers total, would you say we've seen around town?"

"Maybe 50."

"That jives with what I'm thinking. So why were only twelve in the vineyard? Where are the rest? It was too easy. They want that weapon in our hands. Willow, the evidence you found of a pagan temple, investigate it, please."

She quickly pulled up her computer and began searching. "It's gone. The website, it's gone. There's no trace of it."

"We walked into a trap, Giles. For some reason, the First, whatever it is, wants us to have that weapon. Caleb called it the Slayer's weapon, but how do we know, that's what it is? Just because he called that, doesn't mean it is. That thing's got an agenda."

Buffy and Faith arrived back shortly there after and had a story to tell.

"There was an old woman in the temple, called herself a Guardian. She said, her people forged the weapon for the Slayer and it was used to kill the last pure demon to walk the Earth and they hid it. She was about to tell us something else, when Warren showed up and killed her. He'd been souped up too. Faith and I managed to kill him with this Slayer's weapon."

"And then Angel showed up and gave her a present." Faith added.

"Buffy, it was a trap." Xander said.

"What was a trap?"

"All of it. The girl who got stabbed, the taunt that they had something of yours, all of it. There's about 50 Bringers in this town, but only a dozen were there tonight. We've been watching that vineyard for a couple of days, we've seen them go in, but not come out. There's another way out of there. And the Guardian was part of it. She was killed very conveniently."

"Buffy, what did Angel give you?" Giles asked.

Buffy pulled out a very ugly necklace on a heavy chain.

"He said there's a prophecy that says, a Champion, someone souled, but stronger then human, can use it to beat a terrible evil."

"Stronger then human would imply you or Faith." Giles said.

"The last time Angel came to us with a prophecy, it turned out to be a self fulfilling one. The actions taken to prevent it, fulfilled it." Xander commented. "I don't think his information can be trusted."

"Well he did say it was from an unreliable source." Buffy said.

"Giles, you need to take a look at what's in the basement of the High School and figure out what it is. And why Warren would sacrifice Andrew to open it and let out that Turikhan."

Giles agreed to check it the next day. Hopefully, they'd soon have answers.
