Amy's father, Robert Madison, stood beside her. Besides Joyce, he was the only parent of a Scooby Gang member present. Xander's parents had left town without telling him. He'd found out when he'd gone to check on them and make sure they were following the evac order. Willow's parents were on their lastest lecture tour, they hadn't called her to see if she was evacuating, she wondered if they'd even heard about it, but hadn't been able to get a hold of them, herself. Tara hadn't heard from her family since the Scoobies ran them out of town. Cordelia's father had called the moment he'd heard about the order and she'd assured him, she and Kari, along with the others were packing and would be out of town in plenty of time, which relieved him greatly. They arranged to meet up in L.A.

Xander held the detonator out to Kari. "Go on, Kare-bear, just because you can't tell anyone about this, doesn't mean you can't enjoy it." She gleefully pressed the button. A rumble could be heard in the distance. A cloud of dust rose up and could be seen. Once things settled, they drove back towards town. A canyon rapidly filling with water from the ocean greeted them. Sunnydale had collapsed in on itself.

The Scooby Gang took a moment to just look and then Xander said. "Rest in peace, Jesse."

"I think they can all rest in peace now." Willow offered. "Sunnydale had more then it's fair share of restless spirits, after all."

"True." Giles agreed. "Very true."

One of the Watchers offered a prayer and then everyone headed for their cars, pulling trailers with their stuff behind them. Just before Xander would've pulled out to join the caravan, his phone rang.

"Harris, what the Hell did you do?!" A voice barked from his phone.

"General?" He said, hesitantly. Why was Jack calling him?

"Report, soldier! Explain to me why you just blew your hometown to Hell!" Xander instinctively responded and explained.

"Crap. More Ascended jackasses playing games. We just kicked the butts of a bunch of them that wanted us to worship them as gods."

"General? How do you know what's going on here?"

"Homeworld Security includes knowing about ghosts and the ghoulies, Harris. You did the right thing reporting that NID crapshow called the Initiative awhile back and your group's done a damn good job looking after that town. And once you report to D.C. for your first official assignment with the Air Force, we'll talk about just how much you've been using that repository to do that. Don't worry, you're not in trouble. One week, I expect you here, in my office."

"Yes, sir." Xander said dazed and hung up.

"What was that about?" Cordelia asked.

"Jack's position involves knowing about the vampires and stuff. Since protection of a town is a civilian matter and we're civilians, as long as we were doing a good job, and apparently they think we were, the government left us alone. Jack says we're not in any trouble, he approves of what we just did. But he wants us in D.C. in one week to officially bring me on board as more then a consultant."

Cordelia blinked, trying to process that. "I honestly don't know what to say."

"Say Xander will look hot in a uniform." Kari said, from the backseat. "I think this General person, wants Xander to actually join the Air Force."

"Technically speaking, I haven't even graduated College since I still had three finals to complete and my college is now buried in that water logged canyon back there. I'd like to get that official piece of paper I've spent four years working for. Come on, we need to catch up with the others, before they think we fell in."

Once in L.A. Angel put them up at the Hyperion Hotel, a place he owned and the two groups filled each other in.

"Wait a minute, you're telling me L.A. has been under an eclipse for nearly a week? Rain of fire, before that and some wanna be god had the whole city enthralled?!" Xander asked, incredulous.

"Yeah, and she was about to go global using national television when we managed to stop her. How did you not hear about it? It was on the news." Angel answered.

"Like any of us have time to watch tv." Xander said sarcastically.

"Well Buffy, you beat another bad guy." Angel said.

"We did." Buffy answered. "It was Xander's plan and we all contributed."

"Finally!" Cordelia said. "Buffy gives credit where credit is due."

Which had everyone laughing. "So what now?" Kari asked.

"Well, there really is another Hellmouth in Cleveland. It should have a Slayer guarding it, no matter how small it is." Giles said.

"I volunteer for that." Buffy said.

"The Watchers Council needs to be rebuilt." One of the Watchers said.

"I think G should do that." Faith said. "He can modernize the whole damn show and remind them, they're supposed to be supporting, not ruling us."

"I agree." One of the other Watchers said. "The last couple of months have been very eye opening. Your group has done a spectacular job."

"Well, my Air Force boss to be called and wanted to make sure I was alright and still interested in a position, which I am." Xander said.

"Wherever Xander ends being assigned is where Chase Holdings will be establishing it's new headquarters." Cordelia said. "I'm still looking forward to rocking in a rocking chair beside him someday." Xander smiled and the two leaned their foreheads together for a moment.

"Well, I think I'm going to go back to Boston for a little while." Faith said. "Put some of my own ghosts to rest."

"I hope Mother and Daddy settle us near Xander and Cordelia." Kari said.

"It's time to start the next part of our lives." Amy said. Her father patted her shoulder. "I'm proud of you. Amy. You've done well. You've all done well."

"As Scooby Mom, I wholeheartedly agree. You have all done very well." Joyce said, beaming at them.
