Olaf had not left yet.

His older brother staying over nigth was not new, he had done it many times in the past and it was almost certain that he would continue doing it, however, this time, it was different.

Olaf would never stay more than a couple of hours after waking up, he would always say goodbye to them to begin his journey back 'home', since the trip back to the human kingdom was a half-day walk or, if the reindeer human was close, a couple of hours.

However, Olaf didn't seem to have any intention of leaving, not yet, and Marshmallow was worried. He didn't like humans, but he respected Olaf, and knew that at some point they would worried about him, or at least that's what Olaf always said.

That's why when he questioned him about it, he was surprised when Olaf just look at his feets and made a face. "It's... complicated, but I can leave if you want."

"NO" said the biggest snowman automatically. He didn't want Olaf to leave, he was just curious why he still didn't. "NO, STAY" he said, trying to assure him that everything was okay.

Humans were complicated. They had just too many feelings and needs, they were selfish and kind at the same time, they destroyed each other like vicious animals and based their prestige on the things they own. Snowmen were not like that, they never tried to be better than others because they were all equal and brothers, they did not have to worry about eating or breaking their bones and they did not have to worry about always being perfect, since they knew that others would accept then no matter what.

Humans care too much on the outside and not enough on the inside, they didn't care about others unless it's easy enougth to no work for it, or if they recuved something in exchange (An example? All Snowgies have names, all of them, but humans hadn't bothered to even learn one) , they were so afraid of rejection from others that they pretended to be something they were not just to be accepted.

Humans were complicated, Marshmallow didn't understand them... but Olaf?

His brother would never have associated the word 'complicated' with humans, his human at least.

And God help him, if those humans were the reason Olaf was so sad, only a miracle would stop Marshmallow (and 148 Snowgies) from destroying their precious kingdom.

"YOU HOME" Marshmallow wasn't good with words, but that wouldn't stop him from trying to find the right ones "YOU ALWAYS HOME HERE."

Olaf smiled, and Marshmallow didn't miss the flash of warmth in them, even if it was just for a second. "Thanks, big guy."

Marshmallow nodded "PLAY?"

They spent the day throwing Olaf's parts down the mountain, with Marshmallow and the Snowgies finding them and rearranging them in strange ways.

It was nice.

I just love these two.

A bit short, but I hope you enjoy it.
