The storm began almost a week after Olaf's arrival.

By then, they had already gotten used to his presence and had begun to integrate him into their daily routine quite well. He was still not the Olaf they knew, but he was a brother, and they would always help him in any way they could.

It happened when Olaf was telling a story (without voices, without acting, but it was a story and they loved stories), he had reached a super interesting part when the human had been turned into a bear, when a loud knock on the door interrupted the transformstion. It was so loud that all the brothers looked in the direction of the noice in unison, either curious or annoyed by the interruption.

Marshmallow growled and ignored it as he turned his gaze to Olaf and urged him to continue, not even wanting to deal with any humans today. The older snow man seemed ready to continue when another knock on the door resounded.

If Marshmallow had teeth, he'd be clenching them really hard, and the only reason he didn't clench his fists was because of his little brothers sitting there. By the third knock, the giant snowman stood up and was ready to roar at any idiot who interrupted his story time, dropping his little brother and reluctantly stomping on the door. Behind him, Olaf said that he would wait for him to continue, something Marshmallow was grateful for.

It must be a tourist, someone too curious, fascinated, or both to not knock on the door of the ice palace, or maybe is a novice lumberjack who was dared to knock on the door of the terrible and terrifying snow monster. It didn't matter, whoever it was would receive Marshmallow's annoyance just the same.

And his annoyance increased when he saw who exactly they were.

The reindeer human, of all, was the one that bothered him the least. He was the one Marshmallow the most around because of his work in the mountains, and for the most part they ignored each other. He knew what Marshmallow was like and preferred to avoid him for fear of his wrath, and the Snowman was fine with that.

The redhead, however, didn't like him. Since their first meeting, she had been nothing but rude to him the few times they met, treating him like someone stupid or bad just for following orders at the time. Marshmallow felt that she would never be nice, so he didn't even try to have a decent relationship with her.

And then there was Elsa.

Yes, that Elsa, his creator.

...she was the worst.

Marshmallow debated with himself for a long time if he hated her, entire nights he spent awake to discover this question. It was easy to say yes, but Olaf explained to him the power that the word hate had, especially towards a person, so he had to stop and back away before making a decision that he might regret.

No, he couldn't come to hate Elsa properly. She created him, she created his home and, most importantly, she created his brothers, something for which he would always be grateful to her.

However, she made them by accident. Olaf wasn't supposed to be alive, Marshmallow was the result of fear and hate and the Snowgies, literally, out of carelessness. All the snowmen had been accidents and, when she no longer needed them, she abandoned them in a corner of the world to rot in the oblivion that, luckily, never came thanks to Olaf (she didn't even name them, Olaf had to do it, and that's fine because Marshmallow loved his name)

No, he didn't hate Elsa, but he really, really disliked her, and he preferred not to have to talk to her at all. He was grateful for what she gave him, but he would never forgive her for the bad care she gave to her creations.

And although it was a cruel thought, he was sure that if Olaf had not stayed close to her, she would have forgotten him too.

With that said, the trio seemed as uncomfortable being there as he was seeing them, as if they wanted nothing more than to leave. He let out a warning growl.

Finally Elsa cleared her throat after minutes of silence "Hello big guy" the growl became louder, only his brothers called him that. Elsa's gaze hardened. "We hope we haven't interrupted anything."

"YES, YOU INTERRUPT" he wouldn't fake manners, he didn't want them here "WHAT YOU WANT?"

The redhead pursed her lips and the human reindeer seemed nervous, but Elsa was the one who spoke again "We... we have a problem, a big one" she sighed "We are looking for someone and we thought you could help us"

His annoyance turned to surprise, and her surprise turned to caution. They...they wouldn't be talking about Olaf, would they?

His brother always said that his friends always knew where he was, and he always go back to them. But, if they're looking for Olaf, does that mean his brother didn't tell them where he went?

Is that why Olaf was so sad? Was he hiding? Were humans the cause of his sadness, just as Marshmallow said days ago? If so, if his brother needed help, he would always give it.

But what if something else had really happened? The giant snowman would never forgive himself if he hurt any of his siblings, even if they couldn't really feel physical pain. What if Olaf was sad for not seeing his friends? Or for something else? Oh, why does everything have to been so complicated!

They needed to talk, and soon.

"NO NOW, COME BACK LATER" Marshmallow wouldn't do anything until he found out what was happening, so he would buy time while he could.

They clearly weren't expecting this response, and the redhead immediately became hostile. "What?! Listen here you, we-"

"COME. BACK. LATER." He repeated, feeling his anger increase and his ice spikes growing, but he held them back. "OR NO HELP."

The redhead looked ready to argue, but the reindeer human stopped her before she could do something stupid. "Fine!" She said, crossing her arms and walking down the ice bridge, closely followed by the reindeer human.

Elsa looked at him for a few more seconds before sighing "We'll be back in a couple of hours..." She turned around but said something else "Please... help us"

Marshmallow watched them walk away and talk to each other, they seemed worried, although he didn't give it any importance. Only once they disappeared down the mountain he close the door and head to his family, he would have to talk to Olaf whether he liked it or not.

But first, there was a story to finish.

I don't hate Elsa and Anna, I swear... but in this story it might seem like I do (I need drama, sorry)

To clarify, all the snowmen are children here, so their thoughts are quite innocent (or at least that's what I try to do, so if they exaggerate something, is for that)
