Cornering Olaf after putting the Snowgies to sleep was a much better idea in Marshmallow's head.

For the self-imposed protector of the Snowmen, Marshmallow could melt under the stress that words could give. No matter how many times he had replayed the conversation in his head, he simply couldn't let a sound come out of his mouth.

In the end, and under Olaf's confused gaze, all he could say was a vague, rumbling "ARE YOU OKAY?"

Olaf's coal-black eyes flashed with surprise for a second, but that disappeared quickly, a disgusting fake smile growing on his face. "Don't worry big guy, it's nothing."

Marshmallow growled. He was worried and clearly something was up. "YOU NO OKAY" was no longer a question, it was a statement "SOMETHING HAPPEN? YOU HURT?"

"I don't-"

"WHY NO GO BACK WITH HUMANS? THEY DO SOMETHING? SOMETHING HAPPEN?" The ramblings of the gigantic snowman made the palace suddenly become colder "NEED HELP? I HELP"

"No- Marshmallow, calm down, it's nothing" Olaf seemed more nervous, but Marshmallow couldn't allow himself to feel sorry for him "You don't have to worry-"

"I WORRY! EVERYONE WORRY! YOU NO OKAY!"

The scream resonated so loudly that for a moment the brothers feared they had woken up their little brothers, but when no noise came from the room where they were resting, they relaxed, just a little. Olaf looked half guilty and half sad, his dejected posture and his eyes fixed on the ground, he seemed to want to say something.

But Marshmallow had not finished "I WORRY, YOU MY BROTHER. I WANT TO HELP BUT... BUT I NO KNOW HOW"

It seemed like Olaf was cringing more and more in guilt as Marshmallow spoke, but he wouldn't let that stop him from being honest with his brother. He gently took his brother in one of his large hands and let him sit on it, the size difference between them could be convenient at times. "PLEASE...I WANT TO HELP."

Olaf let out a bitter laugh. "And I thought I had tricked you..." He shook his head. "I don't want to worry you guys..."

He was almost there, just a little more "PLEASE..."

Olaf remained silent for a few more seconds before sighing, either because he knew he was trapped or had succumbed to his brother's pleas. The older snow man looked at him with a sad smile "You're not going to like it."

Marshmallow shrugged, he would help his brother no matter what.

Then, Olaf began to tell the worst story Marshmallow had ever heard.

Olaf couldn't help but jump more and more excited as he saw the ships getting closer to the port. These were larger than any he had seen in his short but exciting life, and that had made it even more special.

Since Anna became queen, the group had had less time to spend together. Between her duties, planning her wedding with Kristoff and her recent distance from her sister, the redheaded was constantly stressed and up to her neck with work.

It made Olaf sad, since now he could barely see his friends as carefree as he had done before. He tried to be as helpful as possible, always trying to bring a smile to the faces of others, however, the constant work meant that their paths did not cross as much, which Olaf understood even though that put his snowflakes blue.

But now that would change! At least for a time, a kingdom far, far away had heard of Arendelle and would bring representatives here to establish friendly relations! This kingdom was very powerful and, if they managed to get on good terms, Arendelle could enter on a new era of prosperity!

Anna seemed as excited as him, she was wearing an impeccable dress, her tiara polished and sparkling and her smile that Olaf had missed for so long, she seemed even happier than Olaf, although she didn't show it.

"Now Olaf, do you remember what we talked about?" She looked at him and smiled, but there was something in her eyes that he couldn't decipher.

However, he ignored it and let out a couple of giggles "Sure! I'll behave and be nice, the usual Anna" he jumped even more excited, he would make so many new friends! "I can't wait to show them around the castle!"

Anna's smile dimmed a little and she almost looked... worried? No, Olaf must have seen wrong. "Listen Olaf, these people are very, very important to me and Arendelle, we can't ruin this." She crouched down to his level. "Do you promise to be the best snowman, for me?"

Olaf stumbled and looked at her strangely. He wasn't the best, his little brothers were as or more special than him. However, not to disappoint Anna, he just smiled and nodded, "I promise!"

--

"Is that thing really made of snow?"

"How is it possible? I had heard about the previous queen's powers, but this..."

"Do you think it's a trap? Are they making an army of snowmen?"

"They must be up to something, without a doubt."

Olaf found it strange all the tattle as he walked around the guests, who seemed very interested in him. They squinted their eyes and whispered quietly about things Olaf didn't understand, maybe they liked his nose?

"Ahem, Mr...snowman?" A tall man with an unfriendly face approached Olaf holding a glass of wine and with a grimace, as if he had seen something disgusting. "Enjoying the party?"

"Hi! I'm Olaf! And I like warm hugs!" The snowman looked at the man with his arms outstretched, a new friend!

However, he didn't seem very interested in knowing that. "Olaf... forgive my lack of discretion, but, Queen Elsa made you?"

Olaf smiled even more, a topic of conversation! "Yes! She created me by accident along with my brothers, but it doesn't matter! I like being alive" a collective gasp of 'there are more?!' echoed, but Olaf ignored it "She's very good with magic, you should know her!"

The man hummed, but he didn't seem happy, it was a feeling that Olaf still couldn't decipher. "So, you're some kind of... servant?"

Olaf blinked and giggled. "No! I'm a friend!"

The man nodded and took a sip of his wine. "I think, Olaf, I will have a lot of fun during my stay in Arendelle"

And he threw his wine at him.

Reactions were mixed. Some women screamed, some knights gasped, and Olaf let out a small scream as his snow turned maroon. The taste was so bitter and unpleasant that Olaf wanted it to go away, but he couldn't until the drink dried or evaporated, which could take a while.

Anna came running from the commotion as soon as she could, her eyes scanning the scene worriedly. "What happened? Is everything okay?"

"I'm afraid to say, your friend here caused my wine to go to waste." The cold attitude disappeared as soon as the queen appeared, being replaced by a nicer one. "A silly accident, nothing to worry about."

Olaf knew that was not true, it was a lie (an interesting concept that he rarely used) and it was a bad lie. He opened his mouth to defend himself, but Anna was faster. "My sincerest apologies, Your Excellence. He can be a little clumsy." She looked at him and did not seem happy. She had a serious look and a tall posture, worthy of a queen "Olaf, apologize"

It wasn't a question and he knew it. Olaf wanted to say that it wasn't true, that he didn't spill his drink, that he knew he had done nothing wrong, he wanted to defend himself but...

But this was important to Anna, to Arendelle, and Olaf didn't want to make them sad. He looked at the man with a new feeling, fear and he couldn't help but shudder.

"I'm sorry"

--

Olaf didn't like this game.

As the days passed, more and more guests began to treat him like that man. At first it was small things, tripping him up, rude comments, making up rumors, things he could accept.

But then they escalated quickly, the tripping became deliberate pushes, the rude comments became loud shouts for no reason, the rumors turned into false accusations that got him in trouble... these people had very rough games in Olaf's opinion and, despite not feeling physical pain, having most of his parts stolen, forcing him to crawl around looking for them was not very fun while they laughed in his face, not with him, at him.

Anna seemed more exasperated with him. Olaf knew that it wasn't easy for her either, all the manners and always being presentable wasn't Anna, but Olaf felt that she was taking out her frustration on him. Every time someone made up a mistake he made, Anna would just lose it and scold him for a long time, then she would hug Kristoff and Olaf would leave the room feeling more and more like the bad guy.

He didn't dare tell her what was happening to him because he feared that if she took action, the guests would leave and Arendelle would be left without an important friendly kingdom, so he took everything in silence, waiting patiently until the day they left.

"Anna?"

When Olaf entered the royal office, he expected to find a busy queen or a blonde sleeping on the couch, but it was empty. He came in to apologize to her for all the problems and stress he caused, and maybe and hopefully receive a hug from her, however, his luck was not that good.

Shrugging, he decided to wait for someone sitting at the desk. He kicked his legs up in the chair too high for him, looking at the office with a bit of amazement, it wasn't the first time he was there, but it was the first time he was completely alone.

It was a paper on the desk, not very long but definitely not Arendelle paper. He took it and immediately recognized it, it was Northuldra paper! Which meant...

Letter from Elsa!

Why Anna didn't told him that Elsa had written, Olaf didn't know, but he wouldn't complain! He quickly began to read with a huge smile on his face.

Anna

I'm sorry, but I can't take him This week we'll be building relationships with the stone giants and I can't risk it getting ruined.

Why don't you make him leave the castle? He likes to walk around and Kristoff says that he often goes up the mountain, maybe if you talk to him he'll just go away.

On the other hand, he has never acted like this before, all the problems you mentioned don't sound like him. Maybe he's jealous? I don't know, when we finishes here maybe I'll have a few words with him to understand what the problem is.

And even though it may be a burden to your guests, I'm sure they'll end up accepting the business deal, just wait and see.

Love, Elsa

PS: Don't worry, Olaf can't do much damage.

He slowly lowered the letter feeling like solid, cold ice and, for the first time, he wished he didn't know how to read.

Did Anna want him away? Elsa... Elsa thought he was a burden?

He quickly placed the letter down and run out of the office.

He just wanted to disappear.

"Please..."

"Are you going to cry snow boy?"

The last straw was the accident.

Well, it was not an accident, since they had done it completely on purpose.

A group of people had gathered in one of the rooms, specifically the room in which Hans locked Anna so she would freeze to death, with the fireplace lit and the door and windows closed.

Olaf's body was held by some of those people, while his head was held by the same man who started it all (Olaf never knew his name, and was too scared to ask).

In fact, the man held Olaf's head dangerously close to the fire and seemed capable of throwing him at any moment. "The queen said you were permanently cold, how about we put it to the test?" He laughed, but Olaf didn't see the joke.

The snowman desperately tried to avoid it "It doesn't work like that, I'll probably melt, please don't do it" Maybe they didn't know, maybe this was always just a game.

But the man just laughed again. "How do I know you're not fooling me? I have to test it." Closer to the flame, Olaf couldn't do anything. "If you end up melted, I'm sure that ice princess can make fifty more of you." "

Olaf felt his snow begin to melt in the back of his head, he began to hyperventilate as the man continued "You know, we'll really be doing the queen a favor. She's told us how much you annoy her and her people, but she's too kind to kick you out, poor thing." He smiled evilly, even more than Hans. "Did you really think they loved you? That they wanted you close? You were the one who clung to them, not the other way around. You are only a burden for them and for the kingdom, it is better this way"

Centimeters from the fireplace, Olaf closed his eyes waiting for what was imminent. Would they realize what happened? Would he melt or would Elsa's magic take effect? Could they use the remaining water to rebuild him again?

Would they want to rebuild him?

"Your Excellence? Are you here?"

As soon as Anna's voice echoed in the hallway, his head and body were thrown to the ground. "Yes, your majesty! Here we are."

The snowman quickly reassembled himself and backed away as far as he could from the humans, including Anna, who entered the room with a confused look. "Oh!...uh, if I may ask, what is everyone doing here?"

They laughed as if nothing had happened, and Olaf was terrified by it. "Oh, just your little snowman stole my glove. I think the little one wanted to play." The man bowed. "He's definitely a lively little one."

Anna's lips tightened. She gestured to the door. "Gentlemen, ladies, would you mind waiting for me outside? I have to talk to... my snowman."

They nodded and walked away from her, giving her kind smiles that were odds with how evil they were before her. They closed the door behind them leaving Olaf with his best friend.

"Anna-"

"Don't"

She had a cold and disappointed look, something Olaf had never seen in her. If he had a throat, the snowman would surely feel that he was completely closing.

Anna didn't seem able to show any mercy now. "I think you'd better stay here, Olaf." With that, she turned around, leaving the snowman, now, completely alone.

When Anna returned to the room later that day, the window was open and Olaf was already gone.

Olaf's voice grew smaller and smaller until it was just a small whisper. "It's okay actually, they are more important, for Arendelle..."

Marshmallow didn't know what to do, he didn't know what he could do in this situation. He wanted to scream, he wanted to go straight to the kingdom and destroy everything until there was nothing left but rubble, he wanted to find these people and use them as bowling pins for his brothers to play! He wanted to go and hurt them so much that the only thing left of them was the echo of his voices in that horrible castle.

But he couldn't do that, his brother was here, not there, he had to help his brother, but he couldn't do it out there. His brother came to them knowing that here, in this ice palace, among his own, he would be safe, and that is what the giant snowman would do, because he is a protector.

Marshmallow was never good with words, he couldn't understand the depth of a conversation so he chose to stay silent, even now he didn't know what he could say.

Therefore, he just hugged Olaf tightly but being careful not to crush him, knowing how much his older brother loved hugs. Olaf didn't think twice and returned it, if he could, Marshmallow would have thought he would be crying.

They stayed like that for a while, in silence because sometimes, an action says more than a thousand words.

I'm sorry it took me so long, I started studying and this chapter was too long to do in one day.

I really don't know how Olaf tastes things. If you put them in your mouth it goes to your body, so if it falls on your head it goes to your mouth? Makes sense? In conclusion, the child does not like wine.

Thank you for reading.
