Chapter 25
When we head out to the Pokemon Center the next day, we find a Team Galactic Grunt. "Hahaha! The package finally came from the Veilstone warehouse! So, now it's my job to deliver this to the lake! This is an important mission. No failure allowed! no making boo-boos like wandering off into the Great Marsh!"
"What did you say?" When we ask, the Grunt is shocked. "You were eavesdropping! I was just talking loudly to myself!" What an idiot. "If I wasn't in a hurry, I'd pulverize you with my Pokemon! But I have to get on my way to the lake ASAP! So you're lucky! I'm out! oh, and listen up, you! Don't you dare follow me!"
He tries to make a runaway, so we chase him as he's at the gate to Route 213. "Gweh! Persistent pest! If our plan works, our boss's dream comes closer to fruition! Our boss's ideal world is going to be created! So I'm not going to waste my time on a nobody like you! I'm telling you now, don't you come chasing after me!"
As if we'll listen to him, but just as we move forward, we bump into... why am I not surprised? "Whoops! Hehehe! I'm not going to plow into you every time we meet! So how's it going, guys? Buffing up your Pokémon, eh? I'll test you and your Pokémon out to see how buff and tough you are!"
"Not now, Gary..." I mutter, but he already sent out his four Pokemon to battle, the fortunate thing is that our Buneary evolve into a Lopunny during the battle, and we use it to win against Barry.
Lopunny: The Rabbit Pokemon: Normal Type. Evolve from Buneary by leveling up with high friendship during daytime. An extremely cautious Pokémon. It cloaks its body with its fluffy ear fur when it senses danger.
"Heh, yeah, maybe you did get a bit tougher since last time. That even shocked me a bit, so yeah, I got beat 'cause I was careless." Barry says.
"You know we don't have time for a battle. We were just chasing the Team Galactic grunt who is having some sort of bomb." Dawn says.
"Sorry, then you should chase him down! If you're not a Pokémon, and you run like that... You're a bad guy. All right! Next time, I'm not holding back!" Then he leaves, and we all rush to chase after the grunt.
We find him at Route 213 on the beach, and he says, "We needed the energy from the Valley Windworks to make this... It would take a scientific genius to make something like this... Therefore our boss, who made this, is a scientific genius!"
"There you are..." We mutter as the grunt is shocked. "Graw! You were eavesdropping! I was just thinking out loud! You're a persistent pest... I'm getting tired of running away... But I'm not going to waste my energy knocking you around..."
Then he runs away again, and we chase him until we arrive at Valor Lakefront. It is a long ride, but thanks to our Pokemon we can chase after him.
"Why am I running like this anyway? That new universe the boss was talking about... It's giving me goose bumps thinking about it. So, we use this..." Then he spots us again and he still thinks that he's talking to himself, and he says, "You're persistent, too... I'm pooped out from all the running... But, I'm not... going to battle you."
And finally, we arrive in front of Lake Valor, and he says, "Aww, no! You're still on my tail? The lake's within sight. You leave me no choice... My Pokemon will knock you out."
He finally decides to battle, but he only has a Glameow, which is easily defeated by Lopunny. "I can't battle anymore. I'm running on fumes...I'll have to give this to the commander. I wish I got to use it at the lake..."
He is running away again, but this time he's nowhere in sight. We grit our teeth until we find Cynthia approaching us. "Oh , hello , long time no see! How is your Pokédex filling up?"
"Hey, Cynthia. What are you doing here?" Lillie asks.
"I came to research the folklore about the lake, but... Well, it doesn't appear as if the lake is open to the public now. Have you heard the folklore about it? They say there is an island inside the lake. And inside that island is a mirage of a Pokémon. No one must enter the chamber of that Pokémon..."
"The mirage of a Pokemon..." Lillie and I remember the two Pokemon that we saw in Lake Valor and Lake Verity. Then Cynthia says, "Oh, that's right! I had to talk to you about something else... He's your friend? He's more impatient than energetic, isn't he? So, getting back to what I started saying earlier... Have you seen the group of Psyduck on Route 210?"
"We do, it blocks the way north." Dawn says. "They seem to be huddled with their heads in their, uh, hands...?"
"I see. Anyway, what you should do is use medicine on the Psyduck. You're working on a Pokédex, so it would be worthwhile for you."
As we get the item, I say, "Hey, this is the Secret Medicine produced from Cianwood City in Johto..."
"I went on a big adventure with a Pokédex when I was younger. I hope you meet every kind of Pokémon there is to see. It may help you with the secret of the mirage Pokémon. See you later!"
Since we already lose the grunt, we decide to head back to Route 212 and train our Pokemon, both Dawn and my Cherubi evolve into a Cherrim.
Cherrim: The Blossom Pokemon: Grass Type. Evolve from Cherubi at LV:25. It blooms during times of strong sunlight. It tries to make up for everything it endured as a bud.
We arrive at a park while we're making pancakes for lunch. After feeding the Pokemon, we turn to notice something's eating the pancakes. "What's this?" Gladion asks.
"Is that a Pokemon?" Dawn asks. Piplup tries to take the pancakes from it, but the Pokemon keeps eating and accidentally bites down on Piplup's arm, making Piplup very upset. It shakes its body, making the soot blow everywhere and making everyone cough.
The Pokemon jumps on top of Pikachu, my head while biting the hat, and then on top of the barbecue pit. It knocks it over as Tox was ready to use a pan if needed. Shaymin falls to the ground. The barbecue pit explodes as the Pokemon suddenly use a move to create an explosion that sends everyone backward and to the ground. Piplup yells at the Pokemon, as the other Pokémon angrily approach it.
"Hey, cut it out!" Lillie yells as she holds the Pokemon, "Don't worry, there's nothing to be afraid of."
The Pokemon looks scared as Lillie washes the Pokemon, and we all gasp to see what the Pokemon actually is. "I know it... it's a Mythical Pokemon Shaymin!"
"Mythical Pokemon?" Everyone is shocked. And the Shaymin says, "It's so comfortable, but the water is a little bit cold... And you can just be more gentler..."
"Wait, it can talk human?" Tox asks.
"It's Telepathy." I say. "So where are you from?"
"Over there!" Shaymin says, and we are confused about what 'over there' means. Shaymin turns red as it develops a fever, while Tox checks its forehead. Everyone returns their Pokémon to their Poké Balls and heads to the Pokémon Center.
At the Pokémon Center, Nurse Joy and Chansey are using a lamp-like scanner to check Shaymin's condition, as a computer shows the results of the scans. "Shaymin is known as the Gratitude Pokemon, and it usually absorbs dirty things and lets them out with the Seed Flare. I guess it is the reason why we saw it covered in soot..." Lillie says.
After Shaymin is out, she asks, "Where are we?"
"This is the Pokemon Center." Lillie says. "Nurse Joy healed you."
"Shaymin is always healthy, but hungry." Shaymin says.
After we introduce ourselves, we decide to share some Poffins with Shaymin to eat. Nurse Joy asks, "So why is Shaymin here in this town?"
"There's no reason for that." Shaymin says as we sweatdrop.
"What happened?" Daniel asks.
"Washed away by a river, it was not a good experience." Shaymin sighs.
"So that's why you're so dirty..." Gladion mutters.
"I want you to bring me to the Flower Fields!" Shaymin says.
"Flower Fields?" We wonder where that place is. We also learn that Shaymin will bring the pollens of flowers to migrate and create new flower fields. Then much to my annoyance, Shaymin climbs onto my head and he has been confusing me of where the Flower Fields are.
We head outside as Shaymin continues to pull my head in different directions, which I'm not comfortable with. Lillie grabs Shaymin, as it blooms a few more flowers. "Wow... it looks like flowers..."
"That way!" Shaymin says as we run to that direction through a garden by some triangle-shaped statues. Just then, we stop as Shaymin feels scared.
"It's here!" Shaymin yells.
"Who's here?" Before we can ask, Team Rocket has to come and ruin the moment. But as they try to run for it, a portal opens from one of the triangle statues and now Team Rocket is dragged inside. We manage to grab Shaymin, but Dawn and I are also sucked inside with Shaymin.
We land on top of the stone pillar, and Dawn says, "What's wrong? I feel so light..."
"I don't like this place..." Shaymin says. "Take me out of here now..."
I say, "Wait, I know this place." Then we see a Giratina floating by. Dawn asks, "Wait, that's your sister Gina, does that mean..."
"We're in the Distortion World. Dawn, take Shaymin and leave, I'll go talk to her." I say.
"It's trying to eat Shaymin!" Shaymin cries, but I say, "She is not going to harm anybody. Just go for now."
Then I try to reach Giratina and yell, "Gina!"
Gina notices me and quickly changes into her human form, then she asks, "Ash? What are you doing here?"
"That is what I want to ask you, why do you bring me and Dawn here?" I ask. "You open a portal and suck us in."
"You and Dawn?" Gina is confused, but she shakes her head and says in an angry voice, "Notice those clouds over there?"
We notice the dark clouds, and I ask, "Why are there Poisonous clouds here?"
"That's Dia and Palmer's doing." Gina says. "They caused this mess, ever since that Alamos Town incident... they start to appear everywhere in this place. I manage to find Dia and have him clean the mess, but do you know what happened? A Shaymin appears and opens the portal using Seed Flare and Dia decides to trap me here. I can't even get back to the real world unless I have Shaymin use Seed Flare."
"So you can't get out... then Mom and the others must be worried about you..." I gasp.
"Of course, they're going to be worried!" Gina turns into her Pokemon form again since she probably sees Dawn with Shaymin, but after getting her, she groans, "Damn it! It's Substitute!"
"Gina, Shaymin is scared of you, of course, she's not going to help you." I say as I notice Dawn, Shaymin, and the four Pokemon go out of the portal, we also notice a guy and ask, "Who's that guy?"
"Dr. Newton, he's a strange human who wants to investigate the Distortion World. Right now he hasn't done anything, so I let him do what he wants here." Gina says. "Ash, you're my only hope to get me out of this place. I beg you."
"Okay, I'll try to help you." I say, and we also notice Team Rocket Trio trying to jump into the portal, but it closes immediately as they are about to jump off.
Then I also come back to the real world, and Lillie asks, "Ash. So what's going on?"
"Apparently...the mess that happened in Alamos Town caused Gina's private space to be polluted. You do know that she doesn't like this." I sigh. "And now Dia trapped her inside the Distortion World so she can't get out, the only way to get out is to use Shaymin's power."
"My power?" Shaymin is scared.
"Dia is so done, angering the one that shouldn't be angered." Gladion says.
"But even you get to see what the Distortion World looks like, now I'm jealous." Tox says.
"I just want to get to the Flower Fields!" Shaymin complains, but then
Some Magnemite and Magneton show up and surround us, while a man shows up with a Magnezone. "Hand over the Shaymin or else."
"Who are you? What's your relation with Shaymin?" Dawn demands.
"I don't know that guy!" Shaymin says, and it tries to attack us with Mirror Shot, so I have Absol use Focus Blast to block it. The explosion it created knocks out some of the Magnemite, and we run away into the alley. Piplup uses Whirlpool to trap the Magnemite so that they won't be able to follow us right away. We pass by a few of the townspeople on the way through the alleyway. The Magnemite, Magneton, and Magnezone follow us as we board a train to not be seen.
"What's that man's deal?" Daniel asks.
"No idea, but we got away from them." Gladion says.
Shaymin is hungry again and we decide to feed him Poffins. Then we speak to some people on the train, as Shaymin jumps into another woman's arms and feels comfortable there. Three more flowers bloom on Shaymin's body. A man on the train shows everyone a basket of Gracidea flowers, and then Shaymin glows as it changes form.
"Wow... it changes form!" Dawn says.
"This is the Sky form. Only the power of Glacidea flowers can make it happen." I say.
"So that's the Flower Field, the Gracidea Flower Field." Lillie says.
Then the passengers on the train are nice to show us where the flower fields are, and Shaymin says, "I am going to that flower field! My companions are over there and I don't want to be left behind!"
"So that's why you want to go there as quickly as possible." Gladion says. Even though Shaymin can fly there, we also want to check out the place. It is then Magnezone, Magneton, and Magnemite appear near the windows of the train. They break through the windows of the train and prepare to attack. Shaymin goes in the middle of the Pokémon, then floats away as two Magnemites collide with each other. Shaymin uses Energy Ball which hits several of the Pokémon and some leave the train.
Two Magnemites try to attack, but Shaymin dodges and they collide with each other. Togetic uses Moonblast to send two Magnetons out of the train. Two Magnemites attack Pikachu, but he dodges and they collide with each other. Piplup uses Bubble Beam to send the Pokémon out of the window. Togetic uses Double-Edge and Piplup uses Whirlpool to send more Pokémon away from the train. Two Magnemite try to attack Absol, but Shaymin uses Energy Ball to send them away. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt to send the rest of the Magnemite and Magneton away.
Everyone jumps for joy after sending all of them away. Magnezone breaks through the train window and is stuck. Piplup uses Bubble Beam, Pikachu uses Thunderbolt, and Shaymin uses Energy Ball on Magnezone to send it out of the window and hit the wall of the tunnel. The train enters the tunnel, with the Magnezone, Magneton, and Magnemite crashing into the wall of the tunnel.
After leaving the train and bidding farewell to the other passengers, we take the boat as we watch the scenery, with us sending out Water Type Pokemon to play around. Noticing Gina, I realize that the ocean is a perfect mirror. I nod at her, and a ripple appears in the water and pulls everyone down into the Distortion world, including our Pokémon.
Daniel says, "So this is the Distortion World..."
"And there's Gina." I say, but Shaymin, now in the Sky form, wants to fight Giratina. He fires the Energy Ball, but Giratina hits back with Shadow Force which sends Shaymin towards a wall.
"Stop it, Shaymin." I say, but in vain, it is until it transforms back into the Land Form that Lillie grabs it. "So Shaymin can only transform into that form during daytime..."
Then Giratina glows as she transforms into her human self, she says, "It's been a while, guys."
"Yeah, having a fight with Shaymin when we got dragged here." I say as she cringes.
"So I don't need to be the hero again?" Newton arrives and Gina says, "Sorry about that. If you know, this is Mr. Greenfield and he has been researching here with my permission, although Dawn and Ash here already know."
"It is nice to meet you." Lillie says as well as the others, but Shaymin still says that he is weird, causing him to fall again.
As they are walking, I ask, "Where did your confidence in Sky Form go? Shaymin?"
"Left in the sky." Shaymin replies as everyone looks at him with a weird look.
In the cave, everyone runs into Team Rocket as they give some water to Newton. Gina asks, "Mr. Greenfield, why do you have these 3 idiots here?"
"Who are you calling idiots?" Jessie yells back and Gina asks, "Is that supposed to scare me? How many times have they chased after you and your Pikachu?"
"865 times." I say. Just then, a couple of Magnemite grab Shaymin and take it to the same person who tried to attack us. And several Magnemite trap us so we cannot move.
"Zero... he was once my assistant..." Newton says.
"Long time no see, Dr. Newton. You're still the same as before." Zero says.
"What are you doing here?" Newton demands.
"You should understand, for the purpose of making this place mine." Zero says.
"Are you still saying that..." Newton mutters. "This place is not ours!"
"Oh? And you thought you want to take over this beautiful world." Zero says.
"This is the important place where it connects to the real world!" Newton yells.
"I know, but can't you see, how this world has been polluted?" He refers to the dark clouds, and he has Magnemite circle around and sends the dangerous purple gas floating towards everyone as we hold our breath to not breathe it in. The Magnemite brings Shaymin inside of the purple gas and it absorbs the gas.
"Don't tell me that he is going to use the Seed Flare..." Gladion says.
Shaymin uses Seed Flare to create a major explosion sending everyone backwards. The explosion causes the portal to reopen and pull everyone up to the real world. Shaymin is now in utter fear of Gina, but we try to explain to him that Gina only wants the Seed Flare so she can get out.
"I am finally out..." Gina says happily as she looks around the world. "Thank you guys."
"I am glad you finally return back to normal." I say.
"By the way, I have a gift that's for you, but thanks to Dia I couldn't give you in time." Then she takes out the Reaper Cloth, and I'm delighted, this is what evolved Dusclops into Dusknoir. So we use it to evolve it.
Dusknoir: The Gripper Pokemon: Ghost Type. Evolve from Dusclops by trading with a Reaper Cloth. The antenna on its head captures radio waves from the world of spirits that command it to take people there.
Just then, a red laser cage appears and it traps Gina inside. "What the..." Gina feels her power is draining as she falls down.
"Sister Gina!" I yell as everyone is worried. Zero jumps onto the cage and he says, "Giratina. I have been waiting for you to come here." The cage attaches to the airship while still draining Giratina's energy, as Zero jumps onto the airship.
"What is going on here?" Lillie asks.
"No way..." Newton gasps in surprise. "I designed the airship, and it will suck up all the energy of Giratina."
"Why did you do that?" I yell in anger.
"I used to want to travel between worlds. But I realize that the machine will cost Giratina's life. But... Zero hasn't given up and if he used the same blueprints, no long after, Giratina will die..."
"She is my sister. I won't let her die!" I yell as we chase towards the airship. We notice that they are at the Gracidea fields, so Shaymin smells some pollen and flies up to chase the ship first. The ones that are left behind are Tox and Daniel, but they know that it is important.
"You're not going to stop me." Then Zero sends his Pokémon to go after us. Magnezone tries to hit Shaymin with Shock Wave but Shaymin keeps dodging. Shaymin uses Energy Ball which lands a critical hit on Magnezone. Magnemite and Magneton use Thunderbolt on us, while we keep dodging the attacks.
Zero goes inside of his airship, as we approach the airship. Piplup uses Bubble Beam, while Pikachu uses Thunderbolt to try to break the cage that is surrounding Giratina. The attacks are unable to break the cage. The Magnemite and Magneton use Thunderbolt on everyone, but Shaymin blocks the attack with Energy Ball. Magnezone uses Mirror Shot at Shaymin, while Shaymin dodges it. Magnezone tries Mirror Shot again, as it hits Shaymin, and knocks it down towards the ground.
"Shaymin!" Lillie grabs the Pokemon before it hit the ground.
Piplup uses Bubble Beam, while Pikachu uses Thunderbolt to attack the Magnemite and Magneton so that they can get through. They land on the airship, and Absol uses Razor Wind to hold back the Magnemite and Magneton. Shieldon uses Flash Cannon to make a hole in the entrance as they head inside. Monferno uses Flamethrower, Togetic uses Moonblast, and Buizel uses Sonic Boom to hold off the Magnemite and Magneton. Shaymin uses an Energy Ball to help hold them back as well.
"This is not good..." Newton says as he sees the computer. "Giratina's power is now only 25 percent left..."
"Please, Mr. Newton, she is my sister and I can't leave her die." I say.
"I'll try my best." Newton says. With a device from his backpack, Newton types on the keyboard of the computer while trying to shut down the energy draining of the machine. Zero's assistant lets her know that Newton is trying to end the energy draining. Newton finishes the typing and presses a red button to stop the energy drainage at 99 percent.
The cage around Gina disappears as she falls to the base of the cage. The engines of the airship were also shut down, as the ship head towards the ground. The Pokémon are returned to their Poké Balls, as we jump on the hover car so that we do not crash to the ground with the airship.
"Gina!" I rush to my sister, who falls into the water. She manages to climbs out of it before passing out.
"No, you can't die, Gina..." I try to shake her body, but she is not responding. Tears are forming in our eyes, just then, everyone and the forest Pokemon gather around, and some of them decide to use Aromatherapy, led by Shaymin, to heal her. In the end, Gina takes a breath and she slowly wakes up.
"Thank goodness, Gina. You are awake..." I hug my sister with happiness.
"Ash...everyone..." Gina says.
Shaymin hides behind me since he is still fearful of Gina. Gina says, "Thank you...for all of you..."
After saying that, Shaymin no longer fears Gina, but Zero comes out of the water and heads towards everyone. Zero sends an attack toward Gina, and Gina counters with Will-O-Wisp. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt, Piplup uses Bubble Beam, and Shieldon uses Flash Cannon toward Zero's Ship, while only Flash Cannon makes contact with the ship. Zero uses some airwaves to reopen the portal and uses it to enter the Distortion World.
"No, he is in the Distortion World." Dawn says, and we are blasted by the shockwave made by Zero inside the Distortion World.
"Zero has launched an attack on the Distortion World. Ash, you need to help me." Gina says.
I nod as I have Lillie protect the others while the two of us enter the Distortion World. Shymin also comes to help.
When we find Zero, he is trying to destroy the ice crystals. Gina in her Pokemon form floats by and uses Will-O-Wisp to hit the ship. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt, while Shaymin uses Energy Ball to also hit the ship. Gina roars at the ship. Giratina uses Dragon Claw on the ship, but Zero pushes it against a wall. Zero attacks Gina with his ship, while Gina dodges and uses Will-O-Wisp to hit the ship. Both attacks create an explosion, and Zero attacks Giratina again to hit her to the ground. Zero attacks with his ship again, as several ice pillars land on top of Giratina.
"Gina!" I yell.
Zero tries to finish off Giratina with another attack, but Pikachu's Thunderbolt collides with it and creates an explosion. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt, Shaymin uses Energy Ball, and Absol uses Signal Beam to attack the ship. Zero hits us with part of the ship and knocks us off of the hover car and onto his ship. Zero uses gripping claws to grab Absol and Togetic, as Pikachu and I run away from them. I'm cornered, as the claws come towards me. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt and Shaymin uses Energy Ball to destroy them.
"This is not going to be good." I use the Focus Blast to blast the claws, freeing the two Pokemon.
Zero shows himself to me as Pikachu gets ready to use Thunderbolt on him. Gina is still stuck underneath the ice pillars, as the purple smoke floats by. Zero closes his ship door, as he takes the ship into the purple smoke. We try to not breathe in the smoke, as Shaymin steps in to absorb the smoke.
After the smoke is gone, the claws go after Pikachu and Shaymin again, as Pikachu uses Thunderbolt to send them back. Gina grabs part of the ship and tries to bring it to the ground, but Zero uses a beam to attack Gina. Shaymin uses Seed Flare to reopen the portal so that we can reenter the real world. Zero tries to attack Shaymin with his ship, but Gina holds onto the ship. The portal opens as we hold onto the ship so that we do not fall. Giratina uses Will-O-Wisp on the ship as it goes through the portal, and crashes onto the ice in the real world.
Shaymin goes through the portal into the real world and crashes down onto the ice. The portal closes, as we are still trapped inside of the Distortion World.
"Now that he is out, we have to restore the ice pillars." Gina says to me and we decide to do it together. In the end, the glacier finally stops in its place, and then we go back to the real world.
As the police arrive, my Mom also arrives and she hugs Gina, "I heard everything from Lillie, are you fine now, Gina?"
"I am now, Mother. Thanks to Ash and the others here." Gina says.
Then they decide to go back to Sevestar with Newton also coming along. A lot of Shaymin also appears and they all turn into sky form, along with the one in Lillie's hands. Shaymin then bids farewell to us as they all fly away to spread the pollen, and we all bid farewell and head back to the main road.
I want to put the Summer Camp in this chapter, but I think it is not going to happen since it is quite long. I hope you like this chapter.
