Chapter 32

When we are about to leave Canalave City, we get a call from my Mom. "Ash, I need you to come to the Iron Island's Steel Manor. All of your Pokemon are acting crazy."

"What? What do you mean by that?" We gasp as we all rush to the Iron Island using our Flying Type Pokemon, and when we rush to my Pokemon, I can't believe what we're seeing. Mawile, Aggron, Metagross, Skarmory, Forretress, and Scizor are all on the bed in vain.

"Guys! What's wrong with you guys?" I ask as they all feel pain.

"I wonder if all the Pokemon are like this..." Lillie says.

We decide to send out our Pokemon, and much to my horror, Steelix, Bastiodon, Trash Cloak Wormadam, Magnezone, and Probopass are also sharing the same fate.

"Great! We have double the amount of Pokemon that's in pain!" Tox says.

"The only thing they have in common is that they are Steel Type. Good thing that Registeel and Jirachi are in their Pokeballs, and I have forbidden Dia to come here." My mom says. "I trust you can all find the source of the problem?"

"You bet." I say as we all head to the deeper part of Iron Island. But we are ambushed by the Pokemon until a person comes and saves us. I can't believe that it is Dad in his Riley form, and he arrives with Lucario.

"You guys alright?" My Dad asks me.

"We're fine, that was something, Dad." I say. My Dad's Lucario is also scanning the area with the aura. "It seems that this area is safe, so how about a break?"

We all sit down tired, and I ask, "So Dad, what are you doing here?"

"We're still finding the source of the pain for Steel Type Pokemon." My Dad explains.

"But isn't Lucario a Steel Type, too?" Dawn asks. "How come it seems to be okay?"

"Lucario is surrounding himself with protecting aura." My Dad says. "We know that there is a low-frequency sound waves that only affect the Steel Type Pokemon."

I think for a while and I say, "I wonder... do you think Team Galactic or Team Rocket have done such a thing?"

"I think you're idea is actually correct." My Dad says as we hear some explosions. We find two grunts in front of us.

"I get it now. You're responsible for agitating the Pokémon. I don't care what good reason you may have, but I don't want you bringing any trouble into my mine."

"We're Team Galactic! We'll take all the Pokemon we want! Isn't that right, partner?" "You said it, brother! So that's what we're gonna do! We're abducting all the Pokemon from this rusted-out Iron Island!"

"To share in all the joys and all the sorrows... That is how all the Trainers and Pokémon live in Sinnoh! I won't allow anyone to defy that code of ethics!"

After we defeat the grunts, they all yell. "Stop! I said stop! Your combination is so sick! All of you and your Pokemon!"

Then they try to run away and they also seem not to understand what Team Galactic's big plan is. That's when we continue to follow the soundwaves and I say, "I have a bad feeling about this..."

We finally arrive at the ruins where they are, and Lillie says, "There they are..."

"So this must be the source... The low-frequency soundwaves must have come from the ruins." We also notice that Mars is trying to put something onto the pillar, and I have to guess it is a key. Then the Pillar glows and the statues of Dialga and Palkia are also glowing.

The ruins take on a blue glow and a powerful beam of light is sent out, striking near Mt. Coronet's summit. Even Lucario can't fight the disturbance anymore, and now it is trying to attack us. My Dad quickly blocks it with Protect, and he says, "Lucario is now out of control... the power must have reached that level..."

My Dad tries to return Lucario, but Lucario breaks the Pokeball and hits Dad with the attack. "Dad! No!" I try to protect him, and Lillie asks, "Mr. Ketchum, are you okay?"

"I'm fine. Use Thunderbolt on Lucario!" He says, and I have Pikachu attack Lucario, but it continues to behave irately and runs directly to the wave-emitting ruins.

As Lucario rushes towards the ruins, Mars has her Golbat and Purugly on standby. Lucario is eventually struck down by Shadow Ball and Purugly's Fury Swipes.

"Lucario!" Lillie yells. "We gotta do something."

"Not so fast, we should destroy the machine first." My Dad says, and when we are running, we notice a big hole and Barry is there with Team Rocket.

"Barry? What are you doing here? And why are you with Team Rocket?" Dawn asks.

"We're stuck! Get us out of there!" Barry says.

We leave the saving to Tox and Dawn, but a Steelix appears and causes them to fall as well. As Steelix pushes its head into the crevasse, my Dad intervenes and uses his aura to shield Dawn and the others from harm.

"Dad!" I yell, and he says, "I'll handle this, meanwhile you guys go take care of that machine!"

Then we decide to attack Team Galactic along with the commander Mars, and in the end, Pikachu uses Thunderbolt to destroy Galactic's machine. The resulting explosion knocks the Key loose, but it is quickly recovered by a Golbat and handed to Mars. The energy finally ceases, and the Steel types stop behaving aggressively, restoring Lucario to its original state and saving others from the Steelix.

"So that machine was the cause..." I say.

"We did it." Gladion says.

We notice that Mars is trying to retreat with the grunts, we're not letting them get away this time. But much to our surprise, she says, "Come any closer I'll blow up the Iron Island."

"You mean you set bombs on this island?" Daniel gasps.

"Lucario, find them all." My Dad says to Lucario as he leaves. Mars says, "I'm not bluffing, and we are going to recreate the world, so we'll just destroy it. I hope you enjoy running, I'll press the button whenever I like."

After they are away, Lucario scans the area and locates the explosives underneath the ruins. "Just leave the bombs to Lucario and I. You guys help your friends."

"Right!" Then we all help Dawn, Tox, Barry, and Team Rocket out of the hole, and we decide to use Psychic to get them out of there. And since we're concerned for Dad, so we rush to the ruins, and we see that they are trying to use the aura to stop the bomb.

"Dad! What are you doing?" I yell with shock. I know this is how I died as Sir Aaron, but Dad says, "Don't worry. We won't die this easily!"

Then he throws the aura bubble with the explosion into the air, letting them explode instead on the ground. We are happy to see both Dad and Lucario are safe, but they fall down afterwards.

"Dad, let's get him to our manor." I say as the others nod. Barry says, "Wait, you have a manor here?"

"Yeah, let's go." We all rush to the manor and we're happy to see our Steel Pokemon now back to normal, while Dad is still asleep, my Mom says, "Just give him some rest and I think he'll be fine."

"I see." I nod, and just then, I feel something strange and Gladion asks, "What's wrong, Ash?"

"Ash... did you feel that?" I turn to notice that Lillie is also feeling the strange thing with me.

"You too? I feel like someone's calling out to us..." I say.

We trace the aura and we find a Pokemon Egg inside an incubator. I ask, "Mom, why does this egg have wires hooked up to it?"

"The egg mysteriously appeared several months ago, for some reason..." Just then, the egg suddenly moves and it's coming towards us. "That's strange... for some reason, it won't hatch... but it reacts to you..."

Then we heard that our Dad is awake, and we decide to do some training, Barry is offered to stay a night with us, and he is actually delighted. When my Dad notices my Rhydon, he decides to give me an item known as Protector so I can evolve it.

Rhyperior: The Drill Pokemon: Ground and Rock Type. Evolved from Rhydon by trading with Protector. It puts rocks in holes in its palms and uses its muscles to shoot them. Geodude are shot at rare times.

Having analyzed the spikes in energy from the Celestic Town Historical Research Center, Professor Carolina arrives to investigate the Iron Ruins further. Her preliminary analysis reveals that Team Galactic located the Iron Ruins with a radar-like machine made from the stolen Veilstone City meteorites. Furthermore, both the machine and the Iron Ruins are emitting special frequencies that resonate with one another resulting in a sound wave that makes the Steel-type Pokémon act violently and suffer intense pain. In addition, Carolina reveals that the Iron Ruins can reveal the location of Spear Pillar - the location at which Dialga and Palkia may be summoned to this world. So my Dad decide to help her out.

That night, the egg is glowing, and both Lillie and I rush to the egg. "The egg... it's glowing!" I say.

The others also arrive to watch the moment. Then the egg hatches and reveals itself to be a Riolu. "A Riolu!" Lillie says.

"That is such a cool Pokemon." Barry adds.

Riolu just looks around and immediately uses Vacuum Wave on us, but I already change into Ghost Type and I say, "That is a really cool move you get there."

But then Riolu just jumps out of the window, so Lillie and I chase after it. We try to search around the Iron Island, and we find him trying to battle an Onix. Riolu is beaten and we quickly rush to stop Onix's attack.

"Pikachu! Iron Tail!" "Absol! Night Slash!" We command and both Pokemon land a hit, but Riolu attacks the two and yells, "This is my battle, I'll finish myself!"

The voice... sounds just like the Lucario in the Tree of Beginnings... that means this one really is reincarnated from the Lucario that we used to have.

"I see. Riolu! Use Vacuum Wave!" I yell, and Riolu attacks Onix, causing it to run away. But when Riolu wants to chase after him, Lillie says, "That's enough! You already gave it your all."

"Yeah, you did your best." Then Riolu falls, and we decide to bring it back to our Steel Manor. After healing him up, we finally capture the Pokemon.

Riolu: The Emanation Pokémon: Fighting Type. Its body is small yet powerful. It can crest three mountains and cross two canyons in one night.

The next day, we hear that Professor Rowan and Professor Berlitz are at Canalave Library, so we rush there and see what they're up to.

"Hmmm... Everyone's finally here. Listen up! You may have forgotten already, but I study the Evolution of Pokémon. The more I study, the more mysteries appear and multiply. There are some Pokemon that evolve and others that don't... What makes them different from each other? Do immature ones evolve into ones that are more mature? If so, what do we make of the Legendary Pokémon that don't evolve? Are we to assume that the legendary Pokémon are complete as creatures?"

"I don't know about it..." I say.

"This is where you all come in. There is said to be a mysterious Pokemon in each of the three lakes of Sinnoh. If we can obtain data on them, it may shed some light on how the process of Pokémon evolution works. I need help from each of you on this grand undertaking. Help me find these Pokémon." Professor Rowan says.

"So you want us to look at the lakes to find those mirages? I mean, Lillie and I do see two of them in Lake Valor and Lake Verity..."

"Gary, Daisy, and Lucas will help you out, so I need you to search for Lake Valor first."

Just then, an earthquake happens, and we all hide under the take for cover. Dawn's dad asks, "Are all of you unharmed?"

"We are. What's going on here?" Dawn asks.

We all rush outside, and Rowan says, "...That tremor... That wasn't a natural occurrence."

A sailor rushes to us and says, "Hey, hey! Old dudes and kids! Something big just happened! They're saying there was a huge explosion at Lake Valor!"

"Then I'm going to Lake Acuity. I have a bad feeling about this." Barry says as he rushes off.

Rowan says, "...That Barry... Can't sit still... I don't like to demand, but I need you at Lake Valor. It's impossible for things to be OK. Not after an explosion like that. But I have no idea what is taking place... But before you go, let me stress: don't get in over your head. We will try to join you as soon as we inspect Lake Verity."

We nod as we all use our Flying Pokemon to Lake Valor, and we are shocked to find Gary, Palmer, and Jane are already there and they are battling the grunts.

"What's going on here?" I ask, and Palmer says, "Hunder J and Team Galactic are working together, they used a bomb to destroy the lake so they can get Azelf."

Then we decide to deal with the grunts and we rush into the cavern, and much to our surprise, Saturn and Hunter J are there and they are trying to get away with the Azelf that's been sealed in cement.

"The mission is proceeding without a hitch. The boss should be pleased. Everything is for everyone and for the good of Team Galactic!" Saturn says.

Then he notices us and says, "Anything that opposes Team Galactic must be crushed! Even the very thought of opposition will not be tolerated!"

"And this time you're not going to get in our way this time." J says.

We battle the two Commanders, and as usual, J is still a hard one to beat, but fortunately, with the grunts dealt with, everyone rushes in. Saturn says, "Even I, a Commander, only managed to buy us time? But that's fine. A child like you will never be able to stem the flow of time! Team Galactic will get the three legendary Pokémon of the lakes! With their power, we will create an entirely new universe! By now, Mars should have captured the Pokémon of Lake Verity..."

"Our work is done, you're not going to get in our way this time." But just as they are trying to escape, Hunter J's ship is destroyed, and it creates an explosion. I ask, "What's going on?"

Saturn grits and says, "Azelf's Future Sight... such power."

Then Team Galactic leaves, and we all rush to the crashing site. A dark smoke appears in the air, and all we can find is the broken cement machine and battered clothes.

"I think it's safe to say that Hunter J is no more... we completely destroyed the Dark Self." Palmer says.

"But they have Azelf with them... and they are probably trying to get the other two..." Lillie says.

"I think we should head to Lake Verity next. I'm worried if the same thing will be happening to Dad and Lucas..." Tox says.

Then we bid farewell to the others and rush to Lake Verity.

Here is a new chapter, and in this chapter, the Iron Island arc and the Lake Valor are done. Hunter J is no more, but there is still a Hunter E. I hope you like this chapter.
