Chapter 3: First Day of Work
As we already know, the guppies had enjoyed the first impression of the extravagant city of BubbleWood. Now was the moment of truth, it was the day where they would begin their musical career thanks to the help of the famous Madame Octavia. It was a new day for our protagonists. The jump to fame was close. The guppies were resting peacefully together next to their mentor Mr. Grouper. It was time to get up. Wallace opened the door and he was the one who woke them up.
"Hello, everyone! It's time to get up. Breakfast is ready. We must be prepared for your first day" Wally said happily. The guppies began to wake up little by little, one by one.
"Hmmmm five more minutes, mommy" Deema said sleepily, still with her eyes closed.
"Come on, Deema! You have to have breakfast" Goby tried to wake her up.
"Oh! Breakfast! On my way!" Deema stood up abruptly and went straight towards the dining room. That reaction made the guppies laugh a little. The guppies came to the dining room.
"I'm excited! We are finally going to start our musical career!" Molly said happily.
"It seems. But we can't start the day on an empty stomach" Mr. Grouper advised them.
"He is right. And that's why we have prepared this for you. All you can eat!" Wallace said before several waiters appeared ready to serve the guppies different dishes. On the table were savory and sweet waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes with honey or maple syrup, orange and apple juices. There was literally everything they could imagine in a perfect breakfast.
"WOW!" The guppies were amazed, even Mr. Grouper.
"Go ahead, guys. Eat what you want. You will need a lot of energy for today" The snail boy commented.
"Thanks, Wally!" All the guppies were grateful for the food and began to eat. It seems they were very hungry.
"I love pancakes! Especially with maple syrup!" Gil took some pancakes and took a bottle of maple syrup to spread on his food, but it didn't come out "Huh? Come on!" Gil began to squeeze that bottle harder.
"Euh…Gilly…I wouldn't do that if I were you" Molly tried to intervene.
"Don't worry, Molly. I got it…almost…" The hyper boy said stubbornly and kept squeezing that bottle until the lid flew off and not only were the pancakes filled with maple syrup, but it burst and his face was covered in maple syrup "Wops…." The guppies giggled at what had happened. Luckily, the butlers took care of him quickly, cleaning the maple syrup off his face.
"Very good, kids. Brush your teeth well, take a shower and get ready... Because soon we will go to the studio so we can start with your musical career. Lady Octavia informed me that she will be waiting for us there" Wallace said quietly.
"Excellent! This is what we came for!" Molly was the one who was more excited.
"Woah! Don't eat so fast, guys!" Mr. Grouper advised them worriedly.
"There is no time to lose. There is work to do. Come on!" The pink-haired guppy said excitedly. She was the first to finish and quickly leave to get ready to go to the studio as quickly as possible. That caused some surprised looks from the guppies. They were also excited like her, but maybe she is having a lot of energy, more than she should.
Shortly after, they all brushed their teeth and each took their respective showers. Finally everyone was ready to leave. Wallace, along with bodyguards Tom and Tim, escorted them to the limo. It didn't take long for them to reach another luxury building. But it was more than just a building full of offices and of course, with recording studios and musical equipment. They entered and were greeted by the hostess. She was drinking a cup of coffee.
"Welcome, Bubble Guppies. I hope you had a good night and enjoyed breakfast. I'm sorry I didn't see you sooner, I was preparing the studio for your "first day at work." Today we will do something simple but fun: We will make a new music video! One that will catapult all of you to fame!" Octavia explained the plan.
"Woohoo!" The guppies were delighted at the idea of making a new music video.
"Very good. Follow me guys...Let's start with...all of you's outfits" The cecaelia woman guided them to the costume room. It was a huge room full of suits, dresses, costumes and extravagant clothing. It also had cubicles to try on clothes and a platform to model and make catwalks.
"OH MY GOSH! So many clothes! So many outfits and costumes! I want to try them all!" Deema said excitedly.
"Alright, guppies. We must choose the perfect outfit for your music video. So, you can choose. I, Madame Octavia, fashion expert, will help you if you need anything" Octavia said excitedly "Here we go!"
Immediately, all the guppies began trying on all kinds of clothing. Gil tried on an elegant suit with a top hat and cane. He modeled the suit and even showed off his outfit to Molly. She covered her mouth, holding back his laughter because her hat was too big for him. Goby tried clothes with urban styles, with caps, medallions and sunglasses and torn clothes. Deema loved trying on extravagant and over-the-top dresses. Like a white dress with feathers or a red dress with gloves. Oona preferred to wear some dress with adorable decorations like a turquoise flower dress and a white hat. Nonny tried beach styles and even formal suits that made him look like a little gentleman. Zooli tried various styles such as classic dresses, safari suits, she really tried to find her own style. Everyone kept trying and searching for styles until Molly decided to show hers. She wore a great bright blue outfit, a striking outfit worthy of a pop star.
"What do you think of something like that?" Molly modeled a bit.
"Bravo! Great! Magnifique! I love that style! After all, your most common musical style is pop! Pop Stars! Do you like the idea?" Octavia said with joy.
"Sounds great to me!" Oona supported the decision.
"It is a good idea!" Zooli said.
"Girls can wear a similar style. We can find something similar for the boys" The octopus-woman added.
"Alright, boys….Let's find something so that both you and them can go out with clothes that match" Mr. Grouper wanted to help them until something surprised them.
"ARF! ARF!" It was Bubble Puppy barking and running around, knocking over some clothes closets and making a bit of a mess. It seems like he was chasing something.
"Stop! What do you think you're doing, boy?!" Gil started to pursue him to stop him. After causing a mess, with lots of furniture on the floor and clothes everywhere. Gil managed to catch his restless pet "What was all that, boy? What happened?" Gil asked him surprisedly.
"Arf! Arf! Arf!" Bubble Puppy barked a lot. He seemed restless and pointed his nose at a dress that was moving by itself. Octavia simply reached out to the dress and pulled something out of it.
"Oh! My little Snowflake... I see that little dog scared you, didn't it?" Octavia showed them that it was a Persian kitten with white hair that looked like snow.
"Meow!" The little kitten meowed innocently. Those cute little eyes made all the guppies fall in love equally.
"AWWWWW! The four guppy girls said at the same time.
"Oh! I'm sorry I didn't introduce you to Snowflake. Sometimes he is very elusive and does not usually show himself to strangers...but he seems to like you...Oh and...your puppy seems to have scared him" Octavia stroked Snowflake's head and ears. The kitten simply purred with happiness.
"I'm really sorry about this, Mrs. Octavia. I promise Bubble Puppy will behave better...Isn't that right, boy?" Gil asked, raising his eyebrow at his pet. It seemed like he was scolding but believe me, he tried not to do it. The puppy just barked. But the puppy noticed something strange. The kitten was a cheater. He acted very cute with Octavia and the guppies, but he gave the puppy a teasing smile. Bubble Puppy knew that he didn't like that cat, but he preferred to keep an eye on it.
"Arf Arf" Bubble Puppy barked softly.
"I'm really sorry, Lady Octavia. The guppies and I can help clean up all this mess" Mr. Grouper offered to help. But she looked calm as she petted her cat.
"Don't worry, Mr. Grouper. I have people who will take care of this. For now, let's focus on the guppies. We have to prepare that music video soon" The octopus-woman clapped her hands twice and some crabs appeared and began to clean up the mess caused by Bubble Puppy.
"I call that: Effective Cleaning" Deema commented funnily.
And so, all the guppies decided to try out their new pop star outfits. The four girl guppies wore a dress with a light blue blouse and skirt while the three boy guppies wore a dark blue shirt and dance pants. The guppies, Mr. Grouper, Octavia and Wallace arrived at the two-room recording studio. The first was where the dancers and singers did their thing and the other was where the videos or audios or both were recorded. Bubble Puppy was in Gil's arms while Snowflake was in Wally's arms.
"And this, kids, is where the magic happens. This is where musical stars are born. We can start with a simple music video. Something simple but catchy...Hmmm...Oh! I have it! What do you think if we make a new music video, with the song you made to win the contest! A new version. Alright, kids, you go get ready and organized. We will start recording soon" Octavia said excitedly. The guppies started talking to each other to talk about what they were going to do.
"Do our new song again? It is not a bad idea. I bet Octavia could improve our video" Molly proposed.
"I think that's a good idea, Molly. We just have to remember and practice our dance steps. It shouldn't be very difficult" Gil agreed with her.
"We could even improve the dance steps" Goby added.
"Sounds like a great idea! Let's do it!" Deema commented.
"Yeah!" The seven guppies agreed and they all began to practice a little and remember their most recent song and its respective choreography. After that, Gil gave his pet to Mr. Grouper to take care of him while they made their music video. Wallace was in charge of using the recording devices and computer while Octavia supervised them with Snowflake in her arms.
"Very good! Guppies, are you ready?" The cecaelia woman asked excitedly.
"We are!" The seven guppies said excitedly. All of them got into their respective positions to begin the choreography. Wallace began preparing the recording devices.
"Very good! Three...Two...One...Let's go!" Octavia said before her assistant activated the sound and camera system. The melody began to play. The guppies looked at each other. They knew perfectly well that it was time to start the song.

"Bravo! Bravo! It is perfect! Very good! Wallace, do you have it?" Octavia clapped a lot.
"Everything was perfect. And for the first time! That's the most surprising thing" Wally said happily.
"They definitely have talent" Mr. Grouper smiled a bit. The guppies went directly to where they were to ask how the video came out. They were very happy.
"Did we do it right?"
"How did we do it?"
"Do you like it, Octavia?" The guppies asked a lot at the same time.
"Whoa Whoa Hehehe….You guys did a magnificent job. Now we just have to wait for Wallace to do his editing job and the video will be finished" Octavia said happily.
"Wait...Do you know how to edit videos?" Molly asked him.
"Well, I know how to do many things. Just give me a few minutes and you will have a viral video very soon" The snail boy said confidently.
"A…viral video?" Oona asked confusedly.
"A viral video means that it is a very well-known video and that everyone will be able to see it" Nonny answered her.
"That's how it is. We'll see how it will turn out" The octopus-woman said quietly. It didn't take many minutes for Madame Octavia's assistant to make the necessary edits to make the video much more striking.
"And…it's done! Check it, guys!" Wally called everyone to watch the new video with the necessary modifications.
"WOW!" All the seven guppies gasped surprisedly.
"THAT'S COOL!" Deema shouted happily.
"I call that a great music video!" Goby commented.
"It's much better than before" Molly said.
"Surprising" Nonny said with his typical tone of voice.
"It's definitely much better than the previous video. Don't you believe it, guppies?" Octavia asked them.
"You bet you do, Lady Octavia" Molly smiled at her. All the guppies agreed.
"Very good. Get ready to be the new BubbleWood pop stars! And that will be published...Now!" Wallace decided to finally upload the video to the web. Everyone was happy to see that the video will finally be public. Even though everyone is happy, there is someone who feels a little sad. Mr. Grouper saw that the guppies were happier with the video of Octavia and Wally than the video he prepared to help them in the contest. It's obvious, they have better equipment for recording. But equally, he worked hard to make his children happy with the video. Likewise, he didn't show it and decided to stay happy for them. It took a few minutes for everyone to find out something.
"OH-MY-GOSH! This is incredible! Millions of people have seen the video! It has become popular very quickly! Look at that amount of likes, views and comments! This is...EXTRAORDINARY!" Octavia said happily.
"WOW!" All the guppies were happy and saw how their video was going viral in a matter of minutes.
"Guppies….Welcome to the world of fame!" The octopus-woman said happily.
"Look at that amount of thumbs up!" Gil pointed to the like icon.
"That's how many people liked the video" Wally answered.
"And look at that amount next to the drawing of an eye" Zooli pointed to the views icon.
"That number represents the number of people who have seen the video" The snail added.
"Those numbers are very large. We haven't even seen those numbers at school" Deema said surprisedly.
"That's a lot of people then" Nonny commented.
"Oh! Look at that large number of comments. We should read them" Oona said happily.
"I don't see why not" Wally decided to show them the comments section.
"There are too many! Will we be able to read them all?" Goby asked him.
"It is not necessary to read all of them. Would you like it if we only read some of them?" Wallace asked them. All of them agreed "Ahem…Pink34 says: "First comment!" Oh yeah…Typical. Let's ignore that one and read more interesting ones"
"Look at that one! TruckMan87 says: "Oh wow! I saw the Bubble Guppies in their previous videos. I didn't know they won Octavia's contest! Very good job, kids! You are the best!" Gil read another comment.
"Awwww!" The guppies said happily.
"Allyqueen wrote: "I love them so much! You have improved a lot! Deema will always be my favorite. I simply adore her hair!" Wow! This girl understands me!" Deema said happily, showing off her curly hair proudly. The rest giggled a bit.
"PrincesaLilly61 says: "My new favorite video! Molly is always being the best! I hope to see more from all of you!" Oh wow…Hehehe…I think she's exaggerating a bit. Although it is something...nice that someone thinks like that" Molly answered nervously. She didn't expect that there were people who would pay more attention to her.
"Hmmm hey...Looks like a certain RobRulez left a comment. I'm going to read it" Oona wanted to read it until Wallace closed the comments section.
"AHEM! I think we have already read many comments! Wouldn't you like to rest for a while? I have a lot of work to do" Wallace closed the computer abruptly and left with a nervous smile. The guppies looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders. Most likely, Wally didn't want them to read certain unpleasant comments.
"Well kids...it seems like today was a busy day. Would you like to go to the mansion to have a fun time in the pool? You need time for yourselves" Octavia said with a smile.
"Oh yeah!" All the guppies said happily.
Octavia led the guppies back to the mansion. While she and Wallace had work to do, she left Mr. Grouper with the guppies so they could enjoy some time in the pool after a long day as budding music stars. The children did not waste time and began to enjoy that moment. Deema and Oona decided to lie on two beach loungers to sunbathe, drinking lemonades while relaxing. Zooli and Nonny pretended to be marine biologists together. For that, they took a children's diving team for the game. Both wore goggles and breathing tubes. Meanwhile, Molly and Goby pretended to be pirates, using a huge inflatable as a boat.
"Arrr! We have to keep rowing, comrade! We must find the island" Goby acted like a pirate captain.
"At your command, captain!" Molly played as her first official. While they were rowing, a mysterious fin appeared near them "Uh-Oh! Captain!"
"RAWR! SHARP SHARP!" Gil appeared underwater in a shark costume.
"White shark! Ahhhhh!" Goby and Molly began rowing quickly as Gil approached them.
"Come here, pirate guppies! I'm hungry! Yum! Yum!" Gil played with them.
"Don't worry, pirates! Here comes a huge blue whale!" Mr. Grouper appeared and used his color changing ability to change the color of his skin from orange to blue, giving him the similarity to the appearance of a blue whale.
"Woah! That is a very big whale! I better go!" Gil retreated, fleeing from Mr. Grouper. Finally everyone laughed when they saw their funny game.
"That was great!" Molly said excitedly.
"Oh! It seems that the shark didn't have a chance with the big whale. It seems that the biggest fish won" Deema said funnily.
"Actually...Whales are not fish. They are mammals like dolphins" Zooli explained.
"Wait? Mammals? "Who'd say!" Deema said surprisedly and dramatically. All of them giggled a bit.
"Hello Guppies! I bring news!" Octavia arrived with her assistant to give them great news. Everyone left the pool to pay attention to the hostess "Children, I have excellent news! The new music video has become popular. Millions of views! That's why I have a great proposal for you. What do you think if we do a concert? Here at BubbleWood!"
"SUPER! A CONCERT?!" Gil shouted excitedly.
"The video is only the beginning. Your musical career is just beginning, darlings! Are you ready to go to the big leagues?" Octavia asked happily.
"Of course! Isn't that right, guys?" Molly answered without hesitation. Her response was very fast.
"You bet it!" Gil said happily.
"Oh yeah!" All the guppies answered.
"Oh wow! Don't you think a concert would be too much? I mean, there will be a lot of people and basically almost everyone is going to see them" Mr. Grouper asked, a bit worried.
"Relax, Mr. Grouper. I bet guppies have what it takes for this. After all, that's what we're here for. Very good. We will prepare for the concert in three days. Wallace and I will be in charge of preparing everything. And you guppies, I need you to prepare a new song and choreography. We need something impressive and new. It's the perfect opportunity for the world to meet all of you: Bubble Guppies! So, for today you can rest. Tomorrow you will work on the new song. I'm counting on you, dears!" The octopus-woman explained their new job.
Night came and the guppies prepared to rest. After a great dinner as was customary in that mansion, everyone brushed their teeth and put on their respective pajamas to go to sleep. They knew that busy days were coming and they needed to rest. All the children went to bed in their respective beds. Madame Octavia said goodbye to all of them and closed the door on them. The guppies were talking about how great that second day was and what the next ones would be like.
"It was a great day! We finally started our musical career! It's a dream come true. And soon we will have a concert!" Molly was the most excited guppy.
"That's great! It's like the concert we did at BubbleTucky" Gil recalled when the guppies held a rock-and-roll concert in their community.
"Yes, but this time it's different! Many people will come to see us and everyone will know about us. Isn't it exciting?" The pink-haired girl added.
"This will be epic! We must do something incredible! A new song" Deema added.
"I admit that I feel nervous...But at the same time I feel excited" Oona commented.
"It looks like we'll have a lot of work to do. Prepare a song and dance in three days for a big concert. We haven't done anything like this before" Goby said. He was right. They hadn't been in a situation like that.
"Kids, I recommend that you don't worry about that. I know you are capable of doing this. Of course, you don't have to do it if you don't want to" Mr. Grouper advised them.
"Of course I want to! Well...and I think the others do too, don't they?" Molly said.
"Of course we want to. This will be something great. As long as we are all together" Gil added confidently. The rest agreed.
"Alright…It's time to sleep" Mr. Grouper said with a smile.
"Uh…Mr. Grouper….I can´t sleep…again" Oona said nervously.
"This time….We can´t sleep too" Deema added. This time, none of the guppies seemed to want to sleep.
"Hmmm…I know…Kids, do you want me to tell you a bedtime story?" The mentor noticed how they couldn't sleep. As if they were not sleepy. So he came up with a good idea.
"OH YES, PLEASE!" Everyone screamed excitedly and everyone lay down ready to hear the story.
"Will it be about a princess?" Molly asked curiously.
"Or a detective story?" Goby asked too.
"Or a superhero?" Gil added.
"(giggle) Why don't you let me tell the story? I assure you that you will like it" Mr. Grouper told them. Everyone decided to pay attention to their teacher to hear a new story. They never came away disappointed with his stories. Everyone settled into their respective beds "Very good. Ahem….Once upon a time..."
While they were having a beautiful scene, someone else was resting in their luxurious bed. It was Madame Octavia who was getting ready to sleep, but before that, she was checking her electronic device. Analyzing everything they were going through in BubbleWood, she was thinking about the full potential of each member.
"I must admit that each of them are special in their own way. As a team they are great. However, I think only one has the potential to shine in BubbleWood" Madame Octavia said with a not very pleasant smile "And I think I know who that ideal guppy will be" The octopus-woman set her sights on one of our protagonists. Everything indicated that she had something on her mind. What is she planning?
Oh, wow! On the one hand, it's great to see our protagonists grow in their musical careers. However, it seems that certain problems could occur along the way. What will happen?

PrimroseRaspberry: Hello there! I´m happy that you liked it. BubbleWood is a very extravagant place. Let's hope that the guppies do not get carried away by the pleasures that the city and fame offer. And the final scene was definitely beautiful, seeing how Oona and the guppies trust Mr. Grouper as a protector. My favorite scene so far. Now we will see what happens.
