The Primarina Harp and the gold egg laying Swanna continued to bring happiness to the people of Happy Valley.

However, one day, something terrible happened. As Primarina was about to sing her song, she noticed a dark, mysterious shadow appearing in the sky. "Hey, what's going on?" asked the Primarina Harp. Princess Xerneas and Swanna noticed it too. In fact, everybody noticed it. Ash and Pikachu were on their way to the marketplace when they noticed it was growing dark.

"What's with all this darkness?" asked Ash.

"Pika?" asked Pikachu. Lightning struck part of Princess Xerneas's tower. Some guards came to Xerneas' room.

"Something tells me this is no ordinary storm," said Guard #1.

"We need to get you, the harp and Swanna down to the lower parts of the castle til this storm passes," said Guard #2. Princess Xerneas nodded. The two guards picked up the Primarina Harp and began to carry her gently.

But then, Swanna became tense and turned to the window. She began to squawk in alarm. "What is it, Swanna girl?" asked Xerneas. At that moment, everybody saw a giant, shadowy figure in the window.

"What's that?!" asked the Primarina Harp. It broke the window, spilling glass shards everywhere. Everybody dodged the incoming shards that fell. Some large hands reached out toward the group. However, both the Primarina Harp and Swanna fired their Bubble Beam attacks. Xerneas fired a Moonblast attack. The attacks hit the giant hands, causing the mysterious being to flinch. This gave everybody enough time to leave the room.

"Just what was that thing that tried to attack us?!" asked Swanna.

"It must've been a giant," said Guard #2.

"But I thought giants were a figment of your imagination," said Guard #1.

"Whatever it was, that wasn't a figment of our imagination," said Xerneas.

Suddenly, the mysterious figure attacked again. This time, it punched a hole in the side of the wall. Some of the rubble hit the guards, knocking out. The Primarina Harp nearly fell, but both Princess Xerneas and Swanna caught her.

"Easy does it, Primarina," said Xerneas. But then, the giant hands grabbed at both the Primarina Harp and Swanna. They both screamed as they were seized. Xerneas tried to attack the giant being, but it knocked a peace of rubble, forcing her to evade it. She saw the Primarina Harp and Swanna being carried away.

"Noooooo!" cried Xerneas. But it was no use. When the shadow passed, the gold egg laying Swanna and the Primarina Harp were gone.

(End Music)

Everybody gathered outside the castle. They could see the devastation caused to part of the castle. Princess Xerneas stepped out of the castle gates, with a sad look on her face. "People of Happy Valley, something terrible had happened. Both the gold egg laying Swanna and the Primarina Harp have been stolen," said Xerneas. Everybody gasped in horror when those words left the princess' mouth. "Without them, the magic spell of happiness has vanished," said the Xerneas.

"Who stole them?"asked Ash.

"We don't know. The thief or thieves used the cover of darkness to steal them," said Xerneas.

"It was a giant I tell you! A huge, giant!" said Guard #1.

"It punched a hole in that wall over there," said Guard #2.

"A giant? Pah!" said a Farmer.

"But what if it was a giant?" asked Brock.

"If a giant did appear, we would've seen footprints," said Serena. Everybody began to argue.

"Silence! Until we know who did it, we can't jump to conclusions. In the meantime, I'll send spies to investigate the land of our enemies and see if one of them is responsible," said Xerneas. And so, first thing the spies did was to investigate the whole village and interrogate the people to see if any of them were responsible. But however, their search added to nothing because none of the townspeople were possession of the Primarina Harp or the golden egg laying Swanna. The captain of the guard told Princess Xerneas about it. "Very well. Send some soldiers and investigate some of the other neighboring kingdoms. Leave no stone unturned and no person or Pokémon unchecked," said Xerneas.

"Yes, your majesty," said the Captain. And he and some guards left the throne room.

"So, if none of the townspeople did it, and if they're telling the truth and not a lie, then that really must be a giant," said Xerneas to herself.

It has happened. The Primarina Harp and Gold Egg Laying Swanna have been kidnapped! And without them, the magic spell of happiness has disappeared with them. Princess Xerneas has sent her soldiers to search for them. Next chapter, the effects of desolation kick in . . .
