Chapter 2 : abre Los ojos y introducción La familia Madrigal
The screen began showing a little Mirabel and Abuela Alma and the candle that possesses the family miracle.
Abuela Alma : "Abre los ojos, open your eyes".
"Is that you Mirabel you look so cute and those eyes". Miguel looked at the screen with wonder
"Si that's Mi sonbrinita, oh I miss those days you were adorable back then and those chubby checks she was and forever and will be my sonbrina and Mi Mariposa". Bruno smiled
"Tio". Mirabel flushed embarrassed
"Que?" Bruno nudged
The rest of them laughed as the movie continued.
Mirabel : "This is where all our magic comes from?"
Abuela Alma : "Mhm.This candle holds The Miracle given to given to our family".
Alma looked at her granddaughter and smiled up at her she smiled back.
Mirabel : "How did we get Miracle?
Mirabel cuddled close to her grandmother as she told the story of how the Miracle came to be.
Abuela Alma: " Long ago when my three babies had just been born, Your Abuelo And i we're forced to flee our home we couldn't escape the dangers and your abuelo was lost. The Miracle grew and our Casita came alive to shelter us, and together the Miracle came to make our home a paradise ".
Mirabel : "An Encanto!!" She exclaims
Abuela Alma : " That's right".
Héctor paused the movie and was utterly confused.
"So let me get this straight señora , your Miracle came alive from a prayer and your Casa itself comes alive!!" Héctor was shocked
"Si señor ". Alma nods
"I am so sorry for your loss señora , I am sure that must have been very hard for you". Imelda sympathies
"Estas bien señora ". Alma replied
Mirabel went over and hugged her grandmother tightly and she hugged back.
"Carina what's wrong?" Alma asked
"Nada I'm just so glad your okay". Mirabel smiled
Mirabel went back to her seat and cuddled her knees as the movie continued.
Abuela Alma : "when my children came of age the Miracle blessed each with a Magical gift to help to us and when their children came of age-".
Mirabel: " They got magic too".
Abuela Alma : "That's right and together they made our new home a paradise tonight this candle will give you your gift Mi vida and make your family proud ".
"For the record Mariposa you still don't need a gift, your perfect just as you are". Bruno said
" I know Tio". Mirabel replies
Mirabel : "Make My family proud ".
Just then Casita floorboards rolled with a clock showing it was time for the ceremony to start.
Abuela Alma: "Yes Yes Casita we're going".
Little Mirabel hoisted Abuela Alma off the bed. Casita shifted Mirabel's shoes on her feet and she let a let a little giggle.
Both the Riveras and the Madrigals let out little aww's. Mirabel wanted to bury herself in the blankets and never come out.
Mirabel: " what do you think my gift will be?"
Abuela Alma: " You are a wonder Mirabel Madrigal whatever gift awaits will be just as special as you".
"Wait a go mamá go put that in her head". Bruno sarcastically clapped
"Alright Alright let us continue ". Layla yelled
The next scene shows little Mirabel going to her door and grabbing the doorknob . But not before flashing the screen with the word ' Encanto ' on it.
"Please don't tell me that this is about me". Mirabel said
"Oh Deary you don't know the half of it". Layla replied

The scene shows Mirabel's glasses being flipped of a shelf and Mirabel catching them, Then it shows Mirabel rummaging through her wardrobe and Casita moving a basket to catch the clothes. She then put her skirt that was Embroidered till the end . Casita then moved her shoes to her feet and put them on.
"Wow you really need to slow down a little bit Mira don't want you tripping". Pedro smiled
Mirabel just rolled her eyes.
Then it showed an older Mirabel picking at her skirt for a loose thread and dropped it to the floor her hand turned the door knob.
"Hold up you made that skirt yourself ". Miguel points to the skirt
"Si". Mirabel replies
"I don't know about you Mira but think embroidery is your gift I mean look at the detail you could maybe become a seamstress in your town". Miguel smiled
The families nodded in agreement
"Gracias , your very sweet Miguel ". Mirabel blushed
Both Bruno and Héctor knew something was going on with the two of them so they just smiled their goofy smiles.
"Mira Carina would you like to work as a seamstress in your free time I am sure señora Perez would appreciate the help". Alma suggested
"Si I would like that". Mirabel smiled
Mirabel: " Morning Abuelo". Mirabel yelled whilst Casita turned the stairs into a slide
"Wow that looks fun". Socorro piped
"Si it is". Mirabel replies
As Mirabel walked the shutters to the house began to open to let some light in. She then went into the dinning room and began setting up plates. In the distance three little kids Named Alejandra, juancho and Cecila came running up to Casita looking at Mirabel.
Juancho: "Hey when's the magic gift happen?" He yelled
Mirabel : "My cousins ceremony is tonight".
Juancho : "What's his gift?"
Mirabel: "We're going to find out".
"Wow these kids are very persistent and energetic aren't they, Also why as that kid drinking coffee he is too young and where his parents?" Imelda became concerned
" His parents are working señora and I don't know how he got that coffee to be honest". Mirabel replies
Alejandra:"what's your gift?"
Mirabel: "who's asking?"
All: "Us?"
Mirabel : " Well us I can't just talk about myself I am only part of the Amazing Madrigals".
All: "who's all the amazing Madrigals?"
Mirabel: "You are not going to leave me alone are you, Casita?"
"Oh no please no". Mirabel buried herself in the blankets
Mirabel singing:
"Drawers". Casita moves the drawers
"Floors". Casita fluttered the tiles
"Doors". The doors glowed
"Let's go". Mirabel zooms off to the side
"Lo Siento just one second". Layla clicked her fingers and Mirabel's whole family appears
"What where are we?" Julieta looked confused
"Mira , Brunito thank god your safe we thought we lost you". Pepa hugged them both
"I am sorry for the intrusion Madrigals but I have something fun you need to watch ". Layla explains
"Who are you ?" Isabella asked
"I am Layla. Now if you'll please take your seats we can continue". Layla replied
"Before you say anything about what is that thing and who these people are I've got answers: That black thing is a Television where you'll watch your past, These people are your new friends . So please take your seats.
"I will also do the favour of having a little family reunion ". Layla added
"Mamá/ Abuela!!" They all yelled
"Si Hola Mi Amors ". Abuela went up and hugged her grandchildren and her daughters and her sons in laws.
"Papá/ Abuelo!!" They screamed
"Hola Mi famila look you all grown up ". Pedro said
All the family went into a big group hug . While the Rivera's sat there and smiled.
For the next 15 minutes there were hugs, kisses and some introductions passed around and everyone was happy.
"Now that we are all caught up let us continue ". Layla played the movie
Mirabel singing:
"This is our home we've got every generation, so full of music a rhythm of its own design , this is my family a perfect constellation So many stars and every body gets to shine". As Mirabel began knocking on each of her primos and sisters doors even running with Luisa as Casita's floors act like a treadmill.
"Not everybody". Bruno scoffs Mirabel put a comforting hand on his forearm and Bruno smiled.
"Woah, Lets be clear Abuela runs this show ".
"Woah, she led us so many years ago".
"And every year our family blessings grow".
"Is it just me or does Abuela seem stiff and Intense ". Camilo looked to the screen
"Huh you're right Cami she does seem a bit intense". Dolores squeaked
"Your not wrong there Mijo". Abuela agreed
"There's just a lot you simply got to know so, Welcome to the family Madrigal the home of the family Madrigal Hey coming through I know it sounds A bit fantastical and magical but I'm part of the family Madrigal".
All: Oh my gosh it's them!!"
Juancho : "What are their gifts".
Alejandra: "I can't remember all the gifts."
Mirabel: "Alright, Alright relax".
Cecilia: "it is physically impossible to relax".
Alejandra : " just tell us everything what are your powers".
Juancho : " just tell us what everyone can do".
Mirabel: " and that's Why coffee is for grown ups".
"I am so glad someone took the coffee away I was beginning to think how many cups he's had already". Coco said
"My Tia Pepa her mood controls the weather when she's unhappy , Well the temperature gets weird".
That's a nice way to put it Mira, not unless you went Pepi to storm up a hurricane ". Bruno smirked
"Don't you start". Pepa said in a dangerously low tone

Bruno winced at that but tried to force a smile.
"We don't talk about Bruno ".
"These townspeople of yours need to learn some respect, from what we see having met you Bruno your not a bad person". Imelda stated
"I agree Mamá ". Coco agreed
Bruno's heart almost melted at the sweet compliments.
"She's right Brunito they need to apologise to you, they need stop putting the blame on you". Pepa starts
"You can't change the way some people think of me or feel, but it's sweet that you think so". Bruno thanked
"They say saw he saw the future one day he disappeared ".

"Yo Tambien Mariposa ". He hugged her and smiled

"If Your impressed imagine how I feel". Julieta put down the basket of food and gave her daughter a big kiss on the cheek.
Both families laughed at that.
"I can never get enough hugs from you Mija". She went over and hugged Mirabel tightly
"Mamá!!" Mirabel tried to get out of the hug
"Excuse me what are those on the table?" Socorro asked
"They are buenlos darling a traditional Colombian Dish ". Julieta answers
"Mmm they sound tasty". Miguel licked his lips
"They are I can make you some to take home to your family if you wish". Julieta offers
"That would be Amazing thank you So much ". Miguel thanked

"Welcome to the family Madrigal the home of the family Madrigal where all the people are fantastical and Magical and I'm part of the family Madrigal ".
"Hey coming through".
"Ay Mira Amor you need to be More careful and watch where your going". Pepa chided
"Si Tia". She replied
" I know it sounds a bit fantastical and magical but I'm part of the family Madrigal , two guys fell in love with family Madrigal ".

" You and Tio Felix are part of the family too. You don't need to thank me". Mirabel shooed Away

"So yeah Tio Felix married pepa and my dad Married Julieta ".
"Another gift you could possibly have Mira : singing ". Miguel stated
"Gracias ". Mirabel smiled
Camilo didn't like the way this boy was looking at his Prima so he gave him the death glare and Miguel looked away.
"I think someone is falling in love with a certain Madrigal ". Héctor cooed to Miguel
"I don't know what your talking about ". Miguel looked flustered.
"And that's how Abuela became an Abuela Madrigal ".
"Let's go, Let's go".
Abuela Alma:
" We swear to always help those around us and and earn the miracle that somehow found us, The town keeps growing the world keeps turning but work and dedication will keep the miracle burning".
"And each generation must keep the Miracle burning ".
"Really Mi Amor you had to overwork our family, I gave the Miracle so you could help when you needed to and protect our home and family, Not to overwork them and keep the townspeople satisfied I hope they got off their lazy butts and worked together not just to rely on you and the family to do all the work for them". Pedro looked Disappointed
Alma felt like she had been punched in the gut by Pedro's look of disappointment .
"I know that now". Alma looked ashamed
Cecila: "Wait who's the sister and who's the cousin?"
Alejandra: "There's so many people. "
Mirabel singing:
"Okay,okay, okay so many kids in our house so let's turn the sound up you know why. I think it's time for a grandkid round up".
Townspeople : Grandkid roundup
" A grandkid Roundup really?" Camilo said
"It's the easiest way I can get the kids to remember, I liked to see you do better ". Mirabel reminds
With that Camilo shut his mouth.
"Cousin Dolores can hear pin drop".
"No offence Dolores but that's not an easy gift, come to think of it's more of a curse then a gift". Héctor starts
"No kidding I agree, you have no idea what I've heard best to keep my mouth shut". Dolores finished
"Camilo shapeshifts, Antonio gets his gift today".
"Isn't That a bit creepy I mean I would be. But Also I get it trickster and Entanier of the family, our primos Manny and benny are the same Although they don't shapeshift". Miguel explains
"My older sisters Isabela and Luisa".
"One strong one graceful, perfect in every way ".
"Can anyone else hear the jealousy in Mirabel's voice ". Coco piped
Isabela looked sad and looked angry at her past self's actions.
Townspeople: "Isabela"
Mirabel: "grows a flower the town goes wild".
Townspeople: "Isabela".
" She's the perfect golden child".
Townspeople:"Luisa, Luisa, Luisa".
Mirabel singing:

Cecilia: But what's your gift?"
"Haven't these kids ever heard of Manners?" Imelda asked
"Si I agree Mi Amor that's a bit rude to ask". Héctor finished
Mirabel singing:
"Huh well I got to go the life of a Madrigal, but now you know the family Madrigal ".
"I never meant this to get Autobiographical. So just the family Madrigal ".
"Let's go".
"Mirabel sweetheart you know you don't have to answer them right". Julieta said
"Why do you think I am trying to Avoid them". Mirabel replies
Mirabel rapping:
" It starts with a Abuela then Tia Pepa she handles the weather".
" My mum Julieta can make you feel better with just on arepa".
Kids: " What about Mirabel ".
"My dad Augustin well he is accident prone but he means well".
"Ay Augustin". Julieta sighs
"You Alright there Amigo those stings look pretty Nasty ". Héctor checked
"I am fine". Augustin reassures
" Hey you said you want to know what everyone does I got sisters and cousins ".
"My primo Camilo won't stop until he makes you smile today".
Kids: " What about Mirabel ".
" My cousin Dolores can hear this whole course a mile away".
" Hey look it's Mr Mariano you can marry my sister if you wanna but between you and me she's kind of a prima donna".
"Mirabel that's not very nice". Antonio said
"Don't worry Tonito I did Apologise after that". Mirabel smiled at Isabela
" I said too much but thank you I really gotta go".
Kids: "Mirabel ".
"My family is Amazing-"
Kids: "Mirabel ".
"And I am of the family so".
Kids: "Mirabel ".

"Mirabel!!" Alma yelled
They all flinched at Alma's Tone they knew it was only going to get worse from here on out…
