It took a little while for the entirety of Class 1-A to show, but they managed. Tokoyami was one of first few who showed up, just like the other two times.
"Do you not have anything to do?" Olly asked.
He just shrugged. "I'm not very busy when we aren't in school."
Olly sat straighter when everybody had arrived. "Um...I appreciate the fact you all actually wanted to come..."
Olivia looked worried. "Olly? Are you alright? What about you, Izuku? You look a little unwell..."
"I'm fine," he said, giving Olly a side-eye glare.
Olly's gaze went to the grass. "I...have a confession to make. I really hope you don't get mad at me for this..."
"Brother? What's going on? This is pretty sudden. What is this about?"
"Yeah," Ochaco agreed, "you look stressed."
Olly sighed. "Don't kill me please..." He ran his hands through his hair. "I...I used to be a villain."
"I knew it!" Bakugou stood, pointing an accusing finger at the king. "I knew you weren't trustworthy! I knew it from when you first came to class!"
"I know..." He grabbed the folded Origami Craftsman from his pocket. "And now I managed to make things worse. I-I need your guys' help, if you even like me anymore..."
"Why wouldn't we?" Mina asked. "You said you used to be a villain. That's different than still being one."
"Of course we'll help!" Kaminari cheered.
Olivia walked over to her brother. "Oh, Olly...What did you do? Look at him! He...looks really good, actually. I like the detail."
Olly snatched the Origami Craftsman back from her. "Hands off! I..." He sighed. "I'm sorry, Livi. I have no idea why I'm acting like this. He's your father too, even if I did fold you..."
"You folded Olivia?" Ochaco asked. "Doesn't that make you-"
"We don't talk about that," Olly interrupted. He sighed again. "Thank you for offering, really. I really just should stop using Tele...Tele..."
"Telekinesis," Izuku finished.
"Teelee-what now?" Olivia said.
"Telekinesis," Olly explained. "Like Fold of Life but even more dangerous. I basically have control over everything instead of being limited to paper."
"O-oh...Olly...You know how dangerous that is, right?"
He nodded. "I should tell you about my abilities so you can better understand them. That's what Izuku wanted."
"Go ahead," Todoroki said. "Does it have to do with the Vellumentals as well?"
"A little, yes. So I have what Izuku calls 'Manifold.' I can fold my body...A perk of being origami paper. I may have tricked the Vellumentals into teaching me how to use their Magic Circles and then folded them...but that's not the subject at hand."
"So that's how you did it," Olivia said.
"Anyhow..." Olly took off his undershirt again, revealing the writing. "The uh...this is from the Origami Craftsman..."
Olivia read it over. "Oh...I didn't know what it said before...'Dear Olly, I hope you grow into a fair and kind king.' That's so sweet!"`
Olly gently shoved her away. "This along with the fact he used faded paper-"
"So he disrespected you," Bakugou interrupted. "And you decided to take revenge."
"I did that, once," Tenya admitted. "A villain named Stain hurt my elder brother."
Olly faced away from them, the side with his bangs blocking off the view of his face. "So I guess I don't need to finish...But I almost killed Livi with Giga Olly...He's dangerous. He can fold the very fabric of reality, and even summon poison made from my rage. I need your help in helping me control my Telekinesis. I don't want to hurt anyone else...I really don't. But if I don't get it under control, everybody will suffer the same fate as my father. And I want to fold him back and apologize for being an awful son." Izuku saw a tear roll down his face. "But...at least there is somebody who understands. Even if I hardly know you..."
"Crybaby," Bakugou muttered.
Todoroki froze his feet to the floor, then walked over to Olly and sat down next to him. "I can help with your elemental abilities."
"Wait, what?! You're actually offering to help me?"
He nodded.
Olly sniffed. "I..."
"Olly? Are you okay? Are you crying?" Olivia asked, concerned.
"You are all so nice to me! Waaah! I haven't done a single thing for you and you decide to treat me like you've known me for years! You were even super accepting about my past..." He wiped his eyes. "Oh no...I'm going to get soggy..."
"Well, you were nice to us," Ochaco said, smiling. "Plus, Olivia told me all kinds of nice things about you. I know you're trustworthy, Olly, and very sweet too."
"St-stop...You're going to make me soggy."
"So, you need help with your mind powers?" Mina asked.
"M-mind...? No, no. I don't think you know how I use Fold of-ah, I mean Telekinesis. You see, my father here isn't paper. I managed to somehow change his physical matter into paper and folded him. I have no idea how I did that! I wasn't even thinking of paper then, or origami."
"Olly flattened my organs," Izuku muttered angrily.
Bakugou thought that was hilarious and laughed to his heart's content.
"I made him promise he would fix it."
"I didn't promise anything," Olly said. "Promise is such a strong word. Such a powerful statement. Promises never get kept. Promises are nothing compared to the unending word of comfort."
"Um, is he okay?" Sero checked.
"Olly, I told you to stop doing that. It's creepy." Izuku reminded.
"Sorry...I made a deal, is all."
"Olly...I'm really sorry you're so upset about this. I mean, he's my father too. But we'll fix this, okay? And he doesn't need to know if you don't want him to." Olivia rubbed his head, messing up Olly's hair and crown. She smiled.
Olly's eyes slanted upwards again. "Thanks everyone." He looked at Todoroki. "So uh...Izuku said I can control them without folding."
Izuku nodded. "But he doesn't believe me."
"I believe you, Izuku. It's just that they are deities. Using their power is impossible."
"How'd you use it?" Todoroki inserted before Izuku started an argument.
"He used it when Mind Weaver sent Control Freak to zap me to death. It was after he took the hit for me. Well, it was more like the torture, but same difference. His electricity hurts!"
"Izuku said I used Seraphina's fire...If I really had, why was it one of the strongest ones first? Shouldn't it have started from Chikiru?"
Iida's hand shot up. "If you don't mind, I have the answer to your question."
"You need to stop raising your hand like that. We aren't in school!" Olly rubbed his arm. "But-uh, go ahead, Tenya."
"Elemental abilities tend to react to strong emotions. Since the Vellumentals are all different, they might react based on when your emotions line with theirs." He held up his hands, one finger pointing upwards on each. "Fire tends to be anger, and Seraphina is fire. Kori is ice, and ice tends to be calm. Earth tends to be more relaxed, and then you have Chikiru. Water can be different depending on the person."
Olly blinked twice. "Um...Let me correct you on a few things. Seraphina is a jokester. She loves to play pranks on people. The statues in her cave scared me half to death!"
Izuku snickered.
"Kori is the hothead. He got extremely upset at me when I folded him. He was the only Vellumental with full control of their origami form. It was impressive, but terrifying."
"Huh," Tokoyami said.
"Chikiru is the calm one...although down-to-earth explains him pretty well too. He didn't even care I invaded his Holy Shrine! He only did something when I tried to fold him..."
"I'll bet he's cute," Ochaco stated.
"And then Lemon...she's hard to tell. She seems the most happy out of all of them. Mani must have taken very good care of her...She helped me a bit..." He let out a melancholy sigh. "She didn't deserve to be folded. I was a complete idiot."
Bakugou laughed at Olly naming himself with that title, which earned him an aggressive elbow to the gut from Izuku. He rubbed his gut, giving Izuku a sour glare.
"Are you okay?" Ochaco asked.
"Oh? Yes, I'm fine. Thank you for asking." Olly stood, as he had been sitting on the ground the entire time. "So uh...how do you think the Vellumental's abilities work?"
"Iida makes a good point," Olivia said. "The Vellumentals are all really different from each other! Why don't we start off with the fire again?"
"And Iida said fire was anger."
Olivia nodded. "Yup. I know you're a generally angry person-"
"I am not!"
Olivia smiled smugly at him.
"Uhg…I just proved your point."
She giggled. "Anyways, I think it'll be the easiest to d-"
"I know!" Olly clapped his hands together. "A battle! Izuku wanted to anyways!"
"Wait, are you sure that's a good idea?" Mineta argued. "I mean...you flattened Midoriya."
"And your point is...?"
"Olly, I get your idea and why you want to...but what about Fold of Life?" Izuku said.
The happiness left his face. "I'll just be careful. In a world where I can control it..." He beamed again. "I know! We can do it in my world!"
"Wait, what?!"
Olivia jumped with joy. "That'll work! Olly has complete control of it there! If we can get the whole fire thing to work there, he'll be able to do it in no time! Plus, I want to see how Mario and Luigi are doing. Pleeeaaaseee?"
"I'm not sure about this," Izuku started.
"Pleeeaaaseee Izuku?" Olly begged. "You're nice to me! I won't fight you, I promise! I'll pick somebody-anybody-else if you let us do this! Please?"
Izuku inhaled deeply. "Fine...But only because you two are being cute."
"Yay!" They both cheered.
"But...Livi has the book this week."
Olivia pulled it out of her folds. "You mean this book? I bring it with me everywhere!" She slammed it onto the ground. "How does this work, exactly?"
"I uh..." Olly flipped open to a blank page. "I honestly don't have a clue. I wish the Origami Craftsman would've told us how to use this before he handed it to us!" He straightened out a crease on the paper. "So I guess our plan is a fail..."
Olivia flipped to a page depicting an image of Mario. "Haha, it's Mario."
"How exactly does a book get us there?" Bakugou asked impatiently.
"Our world is in a book," Olly responded. "It's strange to think about, but if you ignore it our world seems pretty normal. Besides the fact everything's paper."
"That's the complete opposite of normal."
"Oh wait! I know how to get there, silly me." He slapped his forehead with his palm and stuck his tongue out.
Except he doesn't have a mouth, so nobody understood what he just did.
Except for Olivia, who was very unamused.
"Please don't do that."
Olly stopped sticking his tongue out and removed his hand from his head. "Too much? Is the cartoon optimism not working for me?"
"No, it's not. That was terrible."
Olly's face reddened and he stood. He folded into his small form and floated over the book. "And this is why Lemon taught this to me." He closed his eyes and held out his arms. A Magic Circle Izuku hadn't seen before appeared below him, printed onto the pages of the book. "Tadaa!" He spun in the air on one foot, facing Izuku at the end. "Now we can go home whenever we wish!"
"What's that Magic Circle do?" Tokoyami asked.
"It lets us enter books. To see things as they are written. It's cool but...oh, Sandi..."
"Would you stop saying names we don't know and not explaining who they are?" Bakugou snapped.
"No." He faced the book. "Alright, Livi. You can go first. Wait a minute." He faced Izuku. "I just remembered Origami Folk and part Origami Folk are the only Folk who can use Magic Circles made from Origami Folk. Darn."
"A new record achieved for 'how many times can folk be said in a single sentence.'" Bakugou growled.
"Unless..."
"No, no! You are not folding me!"
"Go in at the same time?" Ochaco suggested.
Olly went to disagree, but realized that it may work. "Actually...I could try that. Livi, take Ochaco and Bakugou."
"Actually," Izuku said, going over to Olivia, "I want to go with her."
"You really distrust me that much?"
Izuku, knowing that wasn't the whole case, lied about it with a solid "Yes." He just wanted to be with Ochaco, is all. But he wouldn't tell anyone that.
"Okay, grab my hand." Olivia, now in her small form, held out her triangle hand to Izuku. Ochaco was already holding her other one. "The way of travel is painless, so you have no need to worry."
Her detail was lessened as well, in her small form. Her dress was simply yellow, her other details no different than before.
"Olly said we go first."
Izuku touched her hand and it actually felt like paper. "It's actually paper. I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't that."
"Alright," she said in a happy tone. "Here we go! On three, jump. Okay?"
"O-okay."
"One, two, three!" Right on three, Olivia and Ochaco jumped onto the Magic Circle, dragging Izuku along with them.
Izuku screamed as he plunged headfirst at the book one second, only to be standing on cool rocks the next. He quickly glanced around and brushed the rock with his foot. It was extrusive Igneous rock, which meant there was a volcano nearby. Izuku looked up and saw they were on it, actually, as the ground curved up and up, reaching to the clouds above.
"There's a volcano in the Mushroom Kingdom?" Ochaco asked.
Olivia nodded. "Yeah, my brother folded a castle up there. It was spooky."
"I think it was a lovely aesthetic, thank you." Olly leaned into their view. "And I'm actually impressed that worked. Nice call there, Uraraka."
"Thank you!"
He started walking before spotting someone in the distance. "Huh? Is that...?" He beamed. "Mama Peach! Ah-! I-I mean...! Forget I said that! If anyone brings this up, you're dead!" He rushed off.
"Olly really grew a bond with her, huh?" Olivia followed after him, Izuku, Ochaco, and the others following.
"Mama Peach," Bakugou snickered. "I'll never let him forget that."
Olivia waved to Peach as they drew close. "Don't worry, Olly. I called Mario Papa Mario once. And Uncle Luigi. That's even worse than what you did."
Izuku gazed at the flowers around them. They were only buds, the covered petals an ashy grey. Even the stalk of the flowers were grey. Izuku crouched down to pluck one when Olly lifted him with Fold of Life.
"Hang on a minute! Those are Quloch, and they only grow in volcanic regions! If you were to pull one out now, it'll die!" He moved his hand down, Izuku gently following it. Izuku landed back on his feet. "How about I give you one when they're fully bloomed?"
"Sounds good," he said, giving Olly a thumbs-up.
Olly faced Peach, who was patiently waiting for them to finish. "Peach, what are you doing here?"
"Queue...lock..." Ochaco attempted. "Was that right?"
"Close enough," Olly said, smiling.
"I was just checking on the Quloch when you came over! Oh? Are these friends of yours?"
Olly nodded once. "The thing is, we need this area for a fighting ring-"
"A battle ring? Are you sure that's a good idea? Somebody could get hurt!"
"I understand why you're worried, but this is for me! And..." He flicked his bangs and pointed a triangle hand at Todoroki. "It'll be with him!"
"Woah! Todoroki straight on?!" The group gasped; except for Olivia, who was just as unaffected as Olly was.
Olly nodded. "He said he'd help! Didn't you, Totoro?"
Todoroki nodded. "And that wasn't the right-"
"See? He agreed!" He faced back to the princess again. "Peach, let m use the field here, please!"
"Well, I can't say 'no' to that polite request...Alright. Just make sure you don't get hurt, okay?"
"Aww, come on! How bad can this possibly be?"
