A few weeks was enough time for the play to be ready. The actors knew their lines, the costumes and props were fully prepared, and Mimi and Olive were ready with their impish plan. The play was scheduled to happen on Saturday. The actors were given lunch during their final rehearsal.
Izuku noticed Inko sitting in one of the front rows, quietly clapping every time his character would appear. He didn't mind too much. The play was going really well until Olive and Ayoyama's turn. The characters were drawn at random, and they unintentionally ended up being the male and female that were supposed to share a dance before Anastasia, played by Mimi, intruded. The female role was changed to male when Ayoyama ended up getting it.
Ayoyama didn't mind, it would have given him a chance to talk to Olive. Olive seemed to be deliberately avoiding him, so never got a chance to introduce himself.
Izuku wet to talk with Olive before the scene. He didn't seem to be acting like himself, and Izuku wanted to see if there was anything he could do to help his saddened classmate. "Hey Olive. Are you okay? You've seemed a little upset lately."
"Hm?" He finished adjusting his hat. "Oh? Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for asking. I'm just a little nervous is all."
"Ah, I get that. It'll go smoothly, don't worry."
"Again, thank you." He sighed.
"Are you sure you're okay?"
Olive couldn't find the words to explain. How could he? What would he tell him? "I've been tampered with so I won't have a crush on Olly anymore" sounded pretty crazy, even to himself.
"I'm fine."
"Okay. Well, break a leg." Izuku turned to leave when Olive gently grabbed his shoulder to stop him.
"Wait, Izuku. I have a question."
"Oh? Go ahead then."
"Are you and your classmates planning something with the Pro Heroes?"
"Planning something? If we were, I would have known about it by know. Unless it was a surprise party or something, then it'll make sense why I wouldn't know about it."
"No plans...?"
"Plus, if there was one, we would ave told you about it. You are our classmate, after all."
"I see."
"You're one of us now, never forget that." He left.
Olive wished to speak He truly did. But those words couldn't receive a response. They touched a special place in Olive's heart.
"Did Mimi...lie to me?"
"Sadly, no. I did not." She wrapped her arm around his neck. "He's trying to trap you, Olive. Those 'Heroes' think the world owes them something, when it doesn't."
"But, he's a pretty honest person."
"Then maybe he's bending the truth from you. But can you really tell if a person's truly honest if they always have a noose 'round your neck?"
"Well...no."
"Exactly my point Trust no one." She let go of him and started off. "Toodles for now!"
Olive rubbed his neck. "Trust no one? Does she mean her and Master too?"
"We're on," Ayoyama said as he rushed past. "See you on stage!"
Olive took a deep breath and stepped through the curtains.
