An awkward silence followed Cordelia's comment and then Xander said. "So are we just going to ignore the dissolving demon body and the fact that we all clearly know demons exist?"

"How do you know demons exist?" Prue asked suspiciously.

"We're part of a group that patrols the Hellmouth." Xander told her.

"What's the Hellmouth?"

"Mystical convergence that's a literal doorway to a Hell dimension." Was the answer.

"I'm beginning to think it's not a coincidence that you're here."

"It's not, but our being here has nothing to do with demons." Cordelia said. "We're here because I found out that we're related and I wanted to meet you."

"How are we related?"

"Our mothers were sisters."

"Now I know you're lying. My mother was an only child."

"I thought my mother was too, until last week when I found some letters written to her by Patty Halliwell. I brought them with, if you want to see them."

"I do." Prue held her hand out and Cordelia opened her purse and pulled out six letters. She handed them to Prue, who sat down and read them. They clearly stated that Patty and Pamela Halliwell were sisters, twin sisters.

"Why didn't Mom or Grams tells us about this?"

"My mother died when I was three. I don't remember her. Daddy says she never talked about her family. He didn't know about this either."

"I know who we can ask." Prue told them. "But first, what are you're names?"

"I'm Cordelia Chase and this is my boyfriend, Alexander Harris, everybody calls him Xander."

"Why?"

"I've got a friend who had trouble pronouncing my name when we were kids. Eventually Xander just stuck."

"Okay. I'm Prue. Would you like to come with me to meet my sisters, so we can figure this out?"

"Yes. And explain the witch thing." Cordelia said.

"I'm a born witch."

"What does that mean?" Cordelia asked.

"It means she inherited her powers. Giles' books talk about the three kinds of witches there are. There's practicioners, like Willow, channelers, like Amy and born witches. Born witches are the rarest. They're naturally supernatural, but human." Xander said.

"You know other witches?"

"Yes. And we knew a technopagan too." Xander told her. "We've only known about Magic for about a year and a half, but we're learning."

"Do you have a car or do you need a ride?"

"We rented a car for the day." Cordelia answered.

"Then you can follow me back to the Manor."

"Manor?" Xander asked.

"Halliwell Manor, it's what we call our house."

"Funny, Mom named our house Chase Manor. Maybe to remember."

"Maybe." Prue agreed.

Xander and Cordelia followed Prue out to the parking lot and from there to Halliwell Manor, a stately old victorian.

"Wow, that's some house." Xander when they got out of the car. "It's gorgeous."

"Thank you, it's been in the family now for three generations." She gestured them into the house. They'd no sooner entered when Xander said. "What is that?"

"What is what?."

"Whatever is causing that icky feeling from underneath us."

"You can sense the Nexus?!" She exclaimed. "Not even we can sense it and we know it's there!"

"What's the Nexus?" Cordelia asked.

"It's also a mystical convergence and in this case, a prison. It holds the woogyman."

"You're joking." Xander said.

"No, I wish I was. A Nexus by itself can be neutral. But it can be claimed by good or evil and then leans in that direction. Anyone born in the house, like my sister Phoebe, can be influenced by it. So we have to be on guard. We have to keep it out of evil's hands and keep it from influencing Phoebe. She managed to overcome it, when the woogyman used its powers on her. How can you tell it's there?"

"I don't know. Maybe the fact that unlike Cordelia or any of our friends, I was actually born in Sunnydale. Cordelia was born in L.A. and Willow, while her parents were on a lecture tour."

"That might make you more sensitive to it."

Just then, Phoebe herself, walked in.

"Hey, Prue. What's up?"

"This is Cordelia Chase and Alexander Harris, and it seems we may be related to Cordelia."

"How?" Prue handed her the letters.

Phoebe looked stunned after she read them.

"Why would they keep this from us?"

"Remember when we found out we had powers when we were kids, but Mom and Grams bound them to keep us safe from that warlock? What if she was in danger or something? We need to ask Grams and Mom."

"How are you going to ask them anything? I found their obituaries." Cordelia asked.

"By summoning their spirits." Prue answered. "Where's Piper?"

"In the kitchen, about to start supper."

"Go get her and tell her what's going on, okay."

Phoebe nodded and headed to the kitchen.

A couple of minutes later Phoebe came back out with another brunette following her. "Can I see the letters?" Piper asked. They were handed over. After a few minutes she said. "We should ask Leo first. He's been aware of us since we were kids after all. He should know something or can ask the Elders."

"Who's Leo?" Xander asked. "And the Elders?"

"My boyfriend. He's a whitelighter. Do you know what that is?"

"Actually yes. I've seen them mentioned in Giles, our mentor's, books. Whitelighters are beings who were once human, they died and became a type of guardian angel." Xander said.

"Does he have a pulse? A heartbeat? He's not just an animated dead body like a demonic vampire, is he?" Cordelia asked.

"Yes, he's does. And you know about vampires too?" Prue asked.

"Demon breed vampires are the most common demons we deal with in Sunnydale. They're drawn to the Hellmouth energy."Xander said. Which of course led to him explaining the Hellmouth to Phoebe and Piper.

"I'll have to look that up in the Book of Shadows." Phoebe said. "And add it if it's not in there."

"Book of Shadows?" Cordelia asked.

"A record of demons their family has encountered and spells used." Xander told her.

"You're very knowledgeable." Prue said.

"I believe in knowing about my enemy. That means learning what I can."

"Piper, call Leo, okay. You're right, we should start with him."

She nodded and then yelled. "Leo!"

Brilliant white lights coalesced into the form of man. Before Piper could say anything though, Xander said. "Leo Wyatt?"
